In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bridge Dragons -http://www.thebridgekicks.com - STOLE MY MONEY!

Personally, I wouldn't be too quick to want to take a loss by paying for shipping to fix her mistake. Asking for a poll may be bad form, to a degree. It's your decision to make. Although some may make the argument that they're "just bugs" that are destined to be lizard food, I wouldn't want to think I'm sending them to an especially crummy death by being slow-roasted in their box. I guess I'm odd in that way. I actually go out of my way to avoid killing anything I notice while mowing my yard.

Hey that's exactly how I am. I won't even step on an ant! When everyone is screaming for me to kill a spider or mosquito on the wall, here I am catching it and releasing it back outside. Personally as you've read I do not want to ship back without her acknowledgement for that exact reason.People may consider them just roaches but they are alive and I don't want them to fry in the box. The poll thing was kind of a joke but people are telling me to send them back and I don't want to look like a bad guy here for disagreeing.

What would happen if he ships and they end up on her porch for days and die? She would be screaming foul again. Wendy has not been back here since she posted this thread.
Again, if Randie handles the return within a reasonable amount of time, with proper notification and documentation, then that should not be a problem. Yes, Wendy could conceivably claim foul if she was not properly notified and given an acceptable amount of time to both listen to phone messages &/or read an email (she has done so in the past), but if Randie does the return PROPERLY then Randie's butt is covered and there would be no logical or legal basis for a complaint by Wendy.

Uh, yeah. Buyer has the bugs and the money. It doesn't require a poll.

Either keep the roaches and refund the seller (regardless of what the seller's reputation may past, present or future be) or return the roaches.

This made me laugh mr. clark.

The OP has no obligation to send her back what she mistakenly sent unless and until she sends a prepaid shipping label. In no way would I ever trust her to do anything she says. You understand that don't you mr. clark? Once trust is gone, once you have lied and cheated and stolen from people, especially more than once, it's a loooooong road to regaining any type of trust.

OP, do what you think is right, but I'd feel no obligation to go out of my way for this woman.

Honestly I don't believe Wendy actually cares anything about these roaches.I believe she made the mistake ( possibly wasn't even a mistake ) by sending me the wrong roaches and had no intention on correcting the problem.I was swept under the rug and was supposed to quietly accept it. When she realized PayPal refunded my money ( which is all she cared about to begin with ) it infuriated her so she made this thread. She agreed to refund my shipping cost after she received them back. A seller sent me a wrong package in the past and sent me a prepaid label to ship back the wronged item. In her case at this point I figure I would have sent them back and received nothing. Now I'm wondering was it all pre-planned. Send me the wrong item so I ship it back and she keeps everything or keep the cheaper item and she makes more profit.Who knows?? Either way I personally believe the right action to take here is hold them until she acknowledges me and agrees on a ship back date. If she waits to long to reply I would have to believe I would deserve to keep them due to the fact I'm now housing them and feeding them. I'm an honest person so I wouldn't do so but it wouldn't be right for weeks to go by then she says I want my roaches back.

Give her until 6 pm tues, she can overnight it at this point, to have a label IN your hands or the roaches are forfeit. You've housed them and fed them, probably watered them and if you ship them back will have to package them, drive them to whatever shipper you use and be out your time for that as well.

How far does your generosity go?

Sounds reasonable to me. :shrug01:

Everyone just try to refrain from being hostile with each other. Communicate peacefully. Obviously everyone has a different opinion on what the right thing to do here is but keep in mind these are LIVE ANIMALS.

Exactly. I think that focusing only on the fact that Randie has both the roaches and the money is being dismissive of the fact that it's the OP's negligence that brought this situation about, and that it's her problem to fix. Why should he have to lay out more money to fix her mistake? I wouldn't send them without Wendy sending me a pre-paid label.

I suppose that this is an unpopular sentiment, but I don't think the fact that they're just bugs, should should lead to a cavalier attitude about their relative safety. If it were a BP, no one would be saying to just blindly send it back, and be content with having given notification to cover your own ass.

Email her & tell her that she has until Tuesday evening to send you a shipping label, if she doesn't then you will assume they are a gift.

Like this:

To: Wendy Childs

I am contacting you about the roaches you erroneously sent to me. I would like to get these back to you, as you shipped the wrong item it is up to you to provide a shipping label. I have had these roaches for over a week with no communication from you, so I am givin you till Tuesday evening August 21,2012 to respond to this email and let me know if I am to expect a shipping label. If I don't hear from you in the allotted time, I can only assume that the roaches are mine to do with as I please.

Sincerely,

At this point I would just feed them off and send her the money and be done with it and her consider it a learning experience.

Maybe Randi should also send a fair payment for the roaches if she keeps them. That way she is doubly covered.

I am just putting this out there as an option.

Covered from what? If someone sends the wrong item you are not required to pay for it. The buyer has said he is willing to ship back if the seller sends a label so the buyer is not trying to unfairly take advantage of the seller's error. He is only required to hold them long enough for the return to be arranged by the seller.
The UCC post above is the standard response although state laws may vary slightly. It is the seller who sent the wrong item who is responsible for arranging the return.

If that's your thinking, I've got some sweet calkings I'd like to send you. The corns I send instead aren't worth as much, and you didn't order them, but as long as you're willing to pay for my mistake, I can't lose...

Randi owes whoever sent the roaches ZILCH.

Sweet! I'll take em!

I don't know about any of you but I get a real uneasy feeling about both parties. Maybe its just me but I would gladly gamble ten bucks for the opportunity to come out smelling like a rose.

I don't know...some of us are willing to go quite far to keep our names from being tarnished. Just by keeping both, the buyer has let herself be put in this position (BG post). Now, she has to be concerned with public opinion on how she ends it.

After all, there is an ethical aspect to the whole transaction that doesn't look good on either side (again, this was pointed out). Now if Randi did go beyond and over (to satisfy a reverse customer) to ensure that her own customer service was above reproach she could come out ahead.

But 10.00 and an hour out of 24 is a LOT to have to do to rectify someone else's mistake (not to mention the "someone" is considered "sleazy," "dishonest," a "scammer," etc...) I can totally understand.., not.

However, legally, Randi is in the right... as has been pointed out.

Its just you. lol

jk, sort of. I really don't feel uneasy about Randie. His posts are sincere and his version of things is consistent. I am also sure that it is easy to blame Wendy because of her past in general and past with the BOI, but looking at this thread alone, she is the bad guy. She has not communicated with the accused as he stated and supported those statements with evidence, and she has not been back here after starting a bad guy thread not one day after a bad guy thread was stared on her mother. That is very suspect to me.

More proof that the buyer is on the side of right here was provided by Lucille in the form of quoted law.

Randie is guilty of poor judgement in buying anything from these women, but he is not obligated to spend one dime to fix this, IMO.

I do not get a bad feeling about the buyer, do not feel like there is any tarnishing or malfeasance

Buyer orders discoid roaches
Seller sends dubia
Buyer informs seller of error
Seller says to send back and she will reimburse shipping and send correct roaches
Seller says too hot to ship roaches back on day planned
Buyer waits for OK
Seller does not communicate
Buyer finally opens Paypal dispute and gets money back
Seller then initiates Bad Guy BOI thread
Seller does not communicate and buyer does not want to send back without seller expecting

Seller knows of the situation. Why has there not been a label sent or arrangements made?

Hello Wendy,

This is Randie Trump. You sent me the wrong order over a week ago.You never responded back to my many attempts to contact you for the correction of my order, or to arrange a shipment of these dubia roaches back to you.Upon Paypal ruling my dispute in my favor these roaches are rightfully yours.I have been housing them now for over a week.If you do not respond back with a prepaid shipping label within an appropriate amount of time, say by Wednesday August 22nd at 1:30 your time, which is 4:30 my time, because that is when my post office closes and is the last day and time to safely ship live animals, I will assume the roaches belong to me.Thank You and have a great day!

P.S. There are plenty of Fauna members who would love to hear from you on the bad guy post you created for me.

It's hard for me to interpret the situation as anything other than that the seller couldn't care less about the roaches. Her own reputation has been a long-sinking ship. This thread looks like nothing more than an undeserved driveby, initiated to try to suck someone else down with her.

@Randie-
Although there may possibly be legal aspects that would stipulate a certain amount of time for someone to claim their property (I really don't know for sure), in essence, your email looks to me like a reasonable request. The ball's been in her court for a while now, and if she's concerned with getting them back, she needs to do something about it. Personally, I think that one would have to squint pretty hard, and view this from a fairly oblique angle, to find any fault with how you're choosing to handle the situation.
