me and a friend of mine are looking for albino Boa constrictor Kahl strain...so we put an add on kingsnake
And this guy has them for only $250
and I was not talking het....I was talking real yellow albino boa constrictors.
For the measley price of $250

Yesterday, I got a call from a girl who said she bought an albino boa FEMALE at the Daytona show DIRECTLY from Pete Kahl for $550 (which I find absurd), she said she really needed to pay some bills and I could have her for $500 (a STEAL&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>.... Of course, I said absolutely! She brought the snake into the store today and showed it to Jewell (it's my day off, so I'm home).... Jewell said that it was very scrawny and malnourished (if it ever ate at all&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>, with wrinkly skin, and, it's a MALE!.... there is NO WAY that Pete would sell a snake like that! I tried to feed it a fuzzy right then, but, it was very head-shy and wouldn't take it! I asked her to give me her name and number so I could think about it and let her know tomorrow.... she said ok, but that another (new) petshop in Tampa told her that if I didn't buy it.... they would! I told her to sell it to them.... if I'm correct, that poor snake won't make it till the weekend!
I emailed Pete and left him a message on his cell phone, but, I haven't heard back from him, yet.... I'd like to know if he had any stolen at the show? If that's the case.... I think I know where he can find it!

There is NO WAY that someone is going to sell one for $250.... PERIOD! If it WAS true.... that ad would be up for a matter of seconds before every last one of them were purchased in a "lot" by one person! ME!!

Just wanted to say No!!!! That is definitely not me!!!! I don't have any Albinos for sale this year at any price, she slugged out. Just another guy trying to use a similar name to scam a couple quick sales and then disappear into the woodwork again when he's caught faster then a cockroach when the lights come on. lol

Don't believe anybody selling Albinos for $250, it's just not going to happen, not for a couple more years anyway I hope. I do know of one kid, his real first is Brock, but he is into frogs and seems like a real good guy the couple times I talked to him. I very much doubt it's him. I don't have his e-mail address but that one is not familiar, I would remember that one. Thanks for the heads up Ritchie and thanks for the kind words Kara. This is truly amazing! But.... it sure is par for the course!
Concerning the post of mine above this one (concerning the Albino Boa). I got a call this morning from Jewell (who is doing the Raleigh show this weekend). She told me that the girl who tried to sell me the very thin and sickly Albino Boa the other day, walked up to her table at the show (not realizing who Jewell was).... Jewell said hi, and then the girl figured out who it was when she saw MY business cards on her table! The girl "freaked"! It turns out that she was working at Dave Lawson's table!! Obviously, Lawson tried to SCAM ME! I didn't fall for it, though! Unfortunately.... Bob Potts of Herps Hobby Shop DID buy it, not knowing where it originated.... he was furious when I told him the story!
I'm SURE that if I DID buy that snake, I would have been "lambasted" by Lawson for selling sick and diseased animals! Nice try Dave.... but, it didn't work! Better luck next time! ....Neil

Im confused here Neil..if it was your day off and you were at home when the lady brought the snake in, hmmm,, then how were you there to offer it a fuzzy and know that it was very head shy,? and how were you there to ask for her name and number so you could call her back after you thought about it? Like you scream everytime somebody post something here, how bout some proof.??
  I have been at the NC show all weekend, and Im staying at a friends house so I have the luxury of having access to the computer here.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Rich and his wife, and several other regulars here at the BOI. and I covered every table there four times over in two days,
(Dave Lawsons included, which I might add he seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and his animals looked very healthy,and well kept, and I do know of one vendor that purchased several different species from him and he appeared very pleased with them all) matter of fact there were a few other vendors there that were really ticked that they didnt get in on the deal as well,,  but funny how I didnt see one person there that seemed to represent you, not even the business cards,that you claimed this women spotted and panicked over.
And one more note,. I doubt very seriously if Rich is going to appreciate you turning his inquiry on this Brock Reptiles, into another Dave thrashing.
You know,, you dont want anyone bringing up the old bad post on you, and the questionable burgerlies of your store, which I dont think any of us here want to happen either cause God knows they are so numerous in number its pathetic. But you sure do jump at any opportunity to slander Dave. whom I might add even though he has taken the bait from you a few times from you, and responded. From what I have noted he has made many attempts to handle you in a mature matter. Of course you keep trying to antagonize him, so I don't really blame him for responding back when you refuse to let it rest.
The one good thing that could come from your posting this, is maybe it will finally end your BOI posting career as a menace to this board.

Wen.... It must be tough working with a .22 calibre mind, in a 357 magnum world, huh? Tell you what.... I'll type real slow so maybe you'll be able to understand what I have already said!
The girl called me the day before to offer me the snake, we agreed upon the price of $500 on the condition that I liked the snake!
Did you ever hear of the telephone, Wen? When the girl came to my store the next day.... Jewell (being my store's manager) CALLED ME on the PHONE to tell me this girl was there with the albino boa and was I going to buy it? I asked Jewell what SHE thought of the snake.... I asked Jewell to try and feed it RIGHT THEN, while I was on the phone! I asked Jewell what the snake looked like! I actually SPOKE TO THE GIRL MYSELF! She TOLD ME that she bought the snake DIRECTLY from Pete Kahl at the Daytona show for $550, but she needed to pay some bills and she would let me have it for $500! As I said above.... I KNOW that Pete would NEVER sell an Albino for $550! I even emailed Pete to make sure! I asked this girl to write down her name and phone number so I could think about it and get back to her! I wanted to hear back from Pete first.... when she heard that, she tells me that if I don't buy it.... Amazon Reptiles told her that THEY would buy it! When I heard THAT, I told her to sell it to them! She left without writing down her name!
So you see, Wen, you don't have to be there in person to get the job done! Nobody is going to scam me if I get a chance to TALK to them first!
I then find out that Herps ended up buying that snake, hoping they could get it to eat.... I wish them luck!

At the Raleigh show.... Jewell also owns Golden Serpent Reptiles, which is the name she uses at the shows.... if you took the time to actually LOOK at HER business cards, you would see (if you turned it over), MY business card on the other side of a two-sided card!

So, Wen.... was that slow enough for you? Or am I going to have to repeat it and make this thread longer, when I wasn't planning on posting another word until you put your 1 cent in! ....Neil

Since your so fond of ripping people Neil that post against you, for the right reason I might add, let me ask you one question. WHAT DOES YOUR POST ABOUT DAVE HAVE TO DO WITH THIS THREAD IN THE FIRST PLACE? I am amazed at how you never miss an opportunity to bring up another tireless, unproveable DAVE SIGHTING in a TOTALLY UNRELATED THREAD!!!!!! (to use your fondness of caps) Wen is right, you have dragged the integrity of this board down with your childish way of responding to critics like him and your constant Dave did this and Dave did that stories with no proof. I REALLY don't appreciate YOU bringing this onto a post that could be mistaken for me and I think all your posts should be deleted and will write the Moderator and Rich to do so. Please allow me to rip you. It feels so good. It makes me think of victory. UGH I hate the anger and negativity sometimes...

I didnt bother to read every postoid here. To long, to drawn out, to polluted.  BUT *I* have been contacted by a friend who put me in contact with one of her co workers that SWEARS he can get albino boas for $250.00, knows that I breed them(Or hope to this season) and is telling me that he has a "Source" that can get them cheap.

My response:  Guys...all the snakes I bought, not ONCE did I try to get a lower price from the seller or bring them down from their posted price..not once. I gave them what they asked for and didnt keep them waiting to find out if I was gonna buy it or not. in other words, when I bit...I bit down HARD and darn near broke the hook. lol

With people that are looking for the BEST BUY, I usually refer them to someone else, as people that are like that are usually real pain in the butt type customers to begin with. Just my opinion. They are looking for a great bargain, even if it means you loseing money on the snake. And cvan often be the ones that are dicontent if their purchase isnt GOLDEN, flawless and exactly on time. Save them and me alot of trouble. Its a hobby, not a business.

So, the guy that said he can get the albino boas for $250? KI told him he would be a fool not too. Never heard back from him, guess his "reverse psychology 101 plan" backfired.

Fred.... You're right, but, not 100%.... anybody that is seriously looking for a certain type of animal, to start a breeding project with, is (probably) going to look for the best specimen they can find.... that's not going to be cheap, and people know that! You get what you pay for? How many posts have you seen where a breeder is selling his animals, "....from $200-$500....", the better the animal, the more you will pay for it....
Now, if you just want a "pet", then sure, you want to get it for as inexpensively as possible.... and breeders know that, too!
The point is, I really don't think that anybody (unless they are independently wealthy) would sell Albino Boas for $250 when the "market" is $800-$1500....
Of course, if you ever do get in touch with that guy.... I'll work a deal with you for the whole clutch! We could undercut the market and put them for sale at $750 each, and watch how FAST they FLY out the door! ....Neil

Then you come back and tell Fred to buy the Albinos so you can undercut all the breeders that worked so hard to produce them and hold the market value up so their customers can recoup that invested money when they produce them. Sarcasm was EXACTLY my point! I (personally) wouldn't think about selling an Albino Boa for less than $1200&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> And, this thread was started because of someone claiming to get them for $250! This is absolutely pertinent to this thread! If you would look at my first thread when I mentioned this girl and the albino for $500, that's exactly why I mentioned it, because she was trying to sell it WAY below market value, that's what sent up red flags for me! It wasn't until this afternoon that I found out who this girl works for! And I'm NOT supposed to think that I was being scammed? And you wouldn't want to know about someone being scammed? Don't even try it! I only mentioned his name twice! My whole story was about the GIRL and the snake!
And, I know exactly how my posts are written, and it what style I write them.... and you know what else?.... I really don't care what you think (you, "dozen or so")! I KNOW the contribution I make to this site, action speaks louder than words, and I feel PROUD of the fact that I have helped numerous people on this site with nothing more given back than a thank you! Talk is cheap! And all you "dozen or so", like to do is talk!
