In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was about to e-mail a person posting an ad for ball pythons on venomousreptiles.org (http://www.venomousreptiles.org/classifieds/detail/23798 for however long it stays up). Strongly smelling the "It sounds too good to be true" stench, I reverse searched the phone number provided in the ad and came up with this:
http://www.whitepages.com/search/ReversePhone?full_phone=803-548-5520&localtime=survey.

Not sure what the most recent news is on Bruce's actions or whereabouts, but I thought I would throw this out there before someone gets burned.

Doing a search on that email address also leads to some deleted posts on another forum. Here is the cached page.
http://209.85.173.104/[email protected]&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

He signs his name as Doc B. within that Ad.

It indeed looks to be Bruce. I ran a google search on the phone number and appear to have hit the jackpot?

He is (or at least as recently as this past March) was posting on a crayfish forum.

The post that came up in google with the phone number & an email address:

I had to use the Cached copy of the post because the link to the post itself from google no longer works. It was an advertisement post and the crayfish site's classified forum is set to automatically deletes old ads after 25 days.

Post subject: Hello from Doc B.

I know Ive been posting here without a intro, well here it is !
My name is Bruce, most my friends call me "Doc" or "Doc B".
I am a biology grad student advisor /prof at a local collage. 6 yrs ago I took ove a delapidated run down roof aquaponics lab and greenhouse. As I know nothing about plants, I had to find something to fill and utilise this huge facillity, and provide a intrest to my Grad students.Crayfish were the answer !. We have water analysis and fauna research going in little field study centers all over the world, so finding specimens wasnt a problem. The aquarium room at the lab is aprox. 40 x 20, there are aquariums even in my office and the greenhouse is full of huge cement vats, I have plenty of room !We have centered until recently with the Cherax and Austrailian types , but are expanding to a few European, and American Varietys, Now Im getting into color morphs. As a educational /research facillity, we can trade and gift from collages and zoos all over the world, so we have some very unique specimens.
The university gave us the current lab, with huge filtration systems, R.O. , U.V. sterilisers, and automatic and computerised water change and analysis sytems. Not really the home Aquarium I know. Our Greenhouse provides not only space but nutriant rich and algea enriched water the little ones thrive on !.
I am allways wanting to trade , even for species we have , just to enrich the genetics, so dont hessitate to ask !
thanks for the forum, and God Bless
Doc. B

Then I decided to run a search off the email address from the post found on the crayfish forum.... another jackpot on a taxidermy forum site... same username as the crayfish site and again with posts as recent as this past March. Unfortunately I cannot view the profile for trying to find additional information as that site is set to only allow registered members to view profiles.

Bruce-The-Moose

taxidermy is like model building, only most the parts are broken, missing, or just plain dont fit !

Apparently on the taxidermy site, there are TWO people using that account. Bruce and some 14 year old named Richie (or so bruce claims in a post). There was a thread I found that apparently they got ripped off on ebay by someone named "Darrel" (no last name given) of Darrell's Taxidermy (email [email protected]).

The other site hit was for http://www.aquaboards.com (the forums used by people advertising on aquabid.com). Apparently Bruce (?) was bidding on auctions over at aquabid.com last summer and got locked out of his paypal account and the person holding one of the auctions was complaining on the aquaboards forums of the bidding results and not getting payment and thought the excuse given him about the bidder being locked out was a scam attempt.

http://www.aquaboards.com/viewtopic.php?id=1473

First excuess used his kid, this is his last email,,I have had paypal for years, and never heard of this,it will be 8 days tomarrow,,Need your input before I leave feedback,However I see he has bids on other auctions Ussername Kingcobrakidd ,,Here is his last email to me..

we have had a problem with the paypal remote security device we bought, and it is keeping us from using paypal, I had sent a email to you regarding this I thought,
It has screwed up our ebay and your payment, they promise to have it corrected this week, and I apologise, paypal in its infinate wisdom, recomended I just contact my sellers and let them know,
I am VERY sorry for the slow payment
attached below is the letter I sent out this morning.
I promise I will get this taken care of as soon as possible

I personally contacted Paypal about our new security device and the issues it has presented by locking our acct. Their Answer was that they promise to have the situation remedied this week. Our security device has been returned to Paypal. However they havent disconected the security device from my acct or sent me a new one in a timley manner.
This is not my fault. if you look at my fedback records you will see I am a immedeate payer and a fast payer,my record is clean.
This however has damaged my credibillity, and left all my working capital ($1700) in limbo and untouchable until our security device is replaced.
I beg your forgiveness in this issue and as soon as I have the acct clear I will immedeatly send payment.
I have been to the bank this morning to secure a loan until this is repaired , I am doing all I can to get you paid.
please, I beg you , give me just a little more time to get you paid
I am embarrassed and at your mecy, but this really was not my fault

Does anyone know if the shop is still there, and does anyone know if he has had to answer for any of his BS. And what was on shhs, the add is aready gone.

He had an ad for a male spider, female super pastel, male pastel, and female normal for $800. It obviously threw up some red flags.

I posted a warning on SHHS about him. I'm not about to let him screw more people. They removed the ad. And to my knowledge, he has never had to answer for his crimes. It's obvious. If he had, we wouldnt see him again trying to scam people.

mark, what happened to the store. did that close down or did he change it to something else? and what was that american hero thing that he put on the stores voice mail?

It was some kind of fund raiser he was selling tickets for. He had ads for it up on the taxidermy website

What perfect timing!
Someone showed me the add too so I contacted him.

He's replied back; I will let him know about this thread.

Oh boy!

Well after contacting the guy about this thread Mr. "Darrel Todd" has replied:

Here's the e-mails:

Darrell,

You must be good friends to share the same phone. You know what they say about birds of a feather? Perhaps you should reply on the thread. It stands right now, you appear to be that "other" guy who scammed allot of nice folks here. Even better why not get your buddy on here- I you say some of the animals are his? Well are you sure? He took animals from folks.

Wouldn't you want to be sure you're not helping to sell stolen animals?

Buy the way he sent me photos: I just don't know how to show them here.

And the reply:

no, I said I bought some as babies from him.
and as I said I do stay with them sometimes,
hed be happy Im sure to get on Fauna and defend himself but they wont let him, as far as stealing? I never heard that one.

Note the change? Also isn't a person allowed to respond to a thread if it's about them? Perhaps a Mod could let "Darrell" know this.

Darrell,

I'm checking to see if there is any reason Bruce would not be able to post here. But I don't see myself as willing to do business with anyone associated with him. I believe many folks will feel the same way.

The herp community is a tight knit group of mostly good folks but there's been some scammers... it hurts us all. I've posted our e-mails on the tread. Feel free to post there if you'd like.

The only member on this site with a last name of Eisenmann is "Harry Eisenmann", and he is not banned or otherwise restricted from posting here.

I wonder if "Harry" will grace us with a post. I doubt that the little fact he passed away will stop him. After all, he sold a lot of "hets" after his death. Of course, none of those "hets" proved-out. Right Bruce?

How about it Bruce? There is the short list of links I posted in this thread that you could address? You could start with the "hets" you sold under your own name that didn't prove-out if talking about the ones that you sold under other peoples names is to difficult for you.

Or, you could start with the threads where your customers had to pay back their clients thousands of dollars for your bogus "hets" they sold. I didn't even list those threads. Take your pick.

Mods, when someone searches under the new name of Darrell Todd- will this tread come up or does that name need to be in the title? Just checking.

Thanks in advance- Deb
