In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy bryancho possible scam

Bryan as I told you privately if I am wrong I am sorry but when sOmething doesn't add uP I don't want sOmeone to get ripped off. It's not hard to do a trade I am always on look out!

The "male" being shown is the same as the picture of the female. Same snake. There is no picture of a snow male.

The way I see it, the OP is either flat out lying...OR...he has no clue how the genetics of these animals work, and instead of being willing to admit that he doesn't know, he simply insists that he's right no matter how wrong it looks. Either way, it's someone to avoid.

The numbers don't add up, either. Last I checked my fourth grader's math book, 15 + 5 did not equal 23. And the coincidence of the "fifteen" snows already being sold without a single picture of any of them.... Hard to swallow. All those buyers, and not one of them asked for a picture of what they were buying?

Lots of red flags all over the place. Maybe the guy is just honest and stubborn in his ignorance. ....maybe......

Just as a "information" contribution, I had a similar anomaly with my Kenyan Sand clutch this year.

The Sire: Anery Paradox HET SNOW
The Dam: Albino HET ANERY

NET: 6 Anery, 4 Normal.

Weird? Yessssss?????????? I dunno. Just saying.

Actually, that's not weird at all, that's pretty much exactly what you should have produced. The only gene the two animals have in common, is the anery gene, so looking at it that way, you bred an anery, to a het anery, which should give you theoretically half of each (you lucked up and hit on an extra anery). The sire here should actually be called an anery het albino paradox...and the albino paradox gene is not compatible with the normal albino gene. What your babies actually are, are 6 anerys 100% het albino and 50% possible het albino paradox....and the 4 normals are 100% het anery and albino and 50% possible het albino paradox.

Sorry for being off topic from the original post, to get back on it though...I agree totally with the idea that for the amount of time the animals were in the sellers posession, I would expect that she had actually been bred before he got her and his male is not the one that fathered the clutch. I do think things sound fishy and would not trust the genetics of those babies beyond them being what they look like.

Bryan,

Some things are just not right with what you and others have posted so far..........

1) that male is NOT a snow

2) you have no pictures of snow sand boas

3) the female was not bred by you, but came to you pregnant so you don't know the genetics of the father

4) you are selling the normals as 100% double hets when in reality you cannot/should not do that. Even IF there were snows in the clutch (without pictures :shrug01:), the best you could say was the normals were possible het snow. THAT'S IT!

So whether you are trying to scam people or not, you are likely misrepresenting your animals. Anyone that purchased any of these from you should be told about the potential genetic issues.

disclaimer

i have never worked with sand boas, but i have to assume that recessive, co-dom, incomplete dom, etc all work the same as it would in balls, boas, retics, etc (my more familiar territorry)

All of the morphs in question are simple recessives in sand boas -- anery and albino. Snow, like in most species, is a double recessive, anery and albino.

That weird looking male is NOT a snow.

Snows look like this:

White body, peachy spots, and most importantly -- RED EYES from the albino influence.

If you can't properly identify the morph of your male, are you really sure those 15 babies were really "snows"?

Also: standard gestation for KSB is about 6-8 months, not 3-4. Odds are better than not that she was gravid when you got her, and those babies aren't related to that male of yours at all.

Oh, no, both pictures of the big anery were of the female. The "snow" male is the little brown critter in one of the shots, then shown again feeding... with his bright BLACK eyes clearly visible. (Frankly, he's so small I thought it was a "mom and baby" shot, not a "mom and dad" shot.) Point remains, though, you're right -- at BEST an "weird" faded anery, there are no snows to be seen in any of those photos!

(Sorry for all the re-iteration of stuff people already said, I was responding before I read everything *facepalm*)

You what guys I'll change that for normal if every one make it happy thanks for all ur coments.

There is no such thing as reality by democracy. Either tell the truth, or if you honestly are not sure just say so.

Just to make sure there is no confusion.....Paradox snows do have black eyes. That is what distinguishes them from non paradox snows (along with the paradox spots haha).

I actually didn't realize that (I swear I've seen some paradox snows with red eyes!) but regardless -- that male isn't a snow, or paradox snow, or anything else even approaching any kind of animal with any albino in the genetics, ever.

I don't get were u guys get the paradox from I have MALE SNOW and FEMALE ANERY if she is pregnant b4 I got her I don't no this what I got from her thanks.

If the pictures posted earlier in this thread are of your male and female,.....you DO NOT have a snow male. Reread the gestation time explanations and the explanation that you cannot be sure what you are producing! You got the female, then 3-4 months later she gives birth to babies...right? If this is true, your male (which again ISN'T a snow), was not the father.

NO, YOU DON'T HAVE A SNOW! You have a brown and white snake with black eyes. A snow is a peach and white snake with red eyes.

That's one of the MAIN PROBLEMS at this point, is that you *can't identify the snakes you already have*, so how in the world can we trust your identification of the babies?

Bryan: Two simple questions.

The first attached image in this post, of the snake eating the pinky, is your male, the supposed sire of this litter?

Yes, or no.

If yes, are you honestly claiming that animal is the SAME MORPH as the other attached photo (one of my snow female, taken this afternoon.)

Yes, or no.

Please stop changing your story, if you aren't sure about something then just admit so. It's you trying to cover it up that made this confusing mess. :NoNo:

I don't know what that male is either, but I just wanted to throw this out there for the color thing - I know snows have red eyes, but I did a google image search for "snow kenyan sand boa" and almost half appeared black. I say "appear" here because what's probably happening is that the lack of proper lighting in the picture makes the ruby eyes seem dark. I've seen it in poor photos of my albino gophers too, so it does happen. :shrug01:
Even if it is a snow though, things still don't add up. In my opinion this seller is either a liar or really, really unfamiliar with what he owns. Either way I wouldn't ever trust him personally. Bit of a shame too since he's so local...
