In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BURNED BY "THE JUNGLE" DEERFIELD BEACH

I don't see any wrongdoing by the seller. The OP seems to be angry about not getting the snake - but posting this as a bad guy thread and saying he got "burned" by the seller is out of line. It just looks like a tantrum.

With how flaky buyers can be, it's kind of a given that you have to put down some cash to have an animal held. I hold animals without a deposit for my loyal customers, but I tend to assume I won't hear back from most of the people that contact me about snakes, no matter how interested they act.

They shouldn't have indicated they would ship the animal out before receiving payment, but doesn't justify a bad guy thread.

They gave no such indication - they told him that if he called that day, they may be able to get it shipped that day...and to call & complete the transaction. There was a delay of 5 hrs before he made that call, and somebody else purchased the snake.

Jungle

I think this thread is about my daughters pet.
Jay, Jo, and Andrea were pleasant and helpful to work with. Shipped more quickly than expected. And packed in way that caused least problem for the animal.
I appreciate this venue and recommend some sort of way to distinguish between valid complaints and sour grapes.

Highly recommend the Jungle.

I see a "REPAIRGUY stole my snake" thread coming soon.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted. Next time I'll read the whole thread first, lol.

Chalk it up to lesson learned. Maybe next time try and communicate your intentions more clearly and directly.
Using the BOI for something like this is unwarranted and quite frankly abusive. Reputation is all a business has in the reptile industry and to call someone out for something that amounts to a lack of communication is irresponsible.
In this case the Customer IS NOT always right!!!

So customer wants something, doesn't verify that he wants, but isn't specific in which one he wants in the first place. So the store has to verify, and then tells customer to call store to complete order; customer doesn't call right away, (which means customer didn't put down a deposit on snake.) Store sells to different customer, and doesn't notify original customer (which they don't have to) and when original customer finds out that snake already sold he gets pissed off?

Stores don't have to tell you it's sold, they also don't have to tell you that it's not yours until you put down a deposit. (Though their website does need work as some links don't work and it would be smart of them to put a TOS on there.)

In short, OP; you threw a temper tantrum because YOU didn't communicate in a precise manner with the store/owner and want to blame the store for your short-comings. Then you continue to throw a bigger tantrum when you're told you're in the wrong for throwing the tantrum in the first place and for cussing. You seem like a real peach to deal with, (and someone to avoid based on behavior in this thread.)

Wow. Spot on!

Awesome summary! Spot on...

OP, grow up a bit, or at least act like it. Take some responsibility and learn from this mistake YOU made, if you want to have some form of a positive reputation in the hobby.

Unfortunately there was NO "Getting Burned" by The Jungle Florida what so ever from what I've read, I personally Just left the Shop to grab feeders as I do on a weekly basis, and prior to reading this the staff explained the situation as exactly to the "T" of what was read. And in this hobby, it's very unfortunate, but there are more empty promises then there are Solid Ones. "Talk is Cheap" and Actions speak Way Louder, and by Actions I mean common sense in locking in a Transaction if you intend to purchase anything, would be first "How would I go about securing the snake so no one else can purchase it?" (ie: Deposit, Pay In Full, ect.), which Money Talks a lot louder than "I want the sunglow". That staff bends over backwards on a daily basis and I respect them for that, and especially the risk they took as taking over the old Shop and doing a Full 360 and changing every flaw for the better in every way. Now for them to have bent over backwards, further than an exorcism could possibly make them, over a "want" instead of a secured transaction would be "nice" and a Great favor, but certainly Not Required to display Good Business etiquette. You did not meet them half way on your end with any funds to reserve your animal, plain and simple. Over the years, I've held many "wants" on my end, and probably 10% will follow through with the deal. No one has time for the 90% of a waiting period, for Next Time.... Reserve Your Animal and don't make false accusations against a Great Business over a situation that just simply didn't go the way you would "hope" it would. Plain and Simple.
