• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Buyers beware! Summer Matson Layne; c&s serpents; possible scammer

Her about me hints at issues in the past. His arrest seems to be connected to their addiction. That being said, if they are clean, it is unlikely he would continue his exploits. Playing devils advocate.

I highly suspect there is no company, no boss in China, and no email that can't be accessed. Summer has presented not one screen shot and not one bit of evidence to support her words. Further she has said and done things that raise the suspicions and are typical of reptile scams.

I even took it one step further and searched using %serpents% for company name and another using %layne for officers trying to find this company here:

http://apps.sos.wv.gov/business/corporations/

While an absence of evidence is not proof that no company exists, it's up to Summer to show it exists and that there is a boss in China.

Having done PayPal myself it is absolutely true that they don't lock you out over a dispute. A dispute is exactly that and something to be resolved. Summer has counted on no one here knowing how PayPal works. That and Summer's not presenting one bit of actual evidence here to support herself is really the big thing.

I'm only pointing out the little things like the company name I can find no evidence of, and the boss with the feminine oriented email address in China, because they all add details to the big picture.

I just tried to upload a Ss. I selected the paperclip, I chose the file, and in selected upload file button over the right, I don't know if it uploaded or not. But, to be in with (on the PayPal issue) I filed my first dispute on 9-7-16, was given the option to send the seller a message and wait 7 days before filing an escalated dispute, I waited the 7 days as suggested, today being the 7th day, I have now filed an escalated dispute, PayPal is now awaiting a response from seller, where as before, I was waiting for a response, so now I guess PayPal literally has their hands in this dispute, if she in fact sent me a refund, than why would PayPal be asking her for a response now, they wouldn't have even let me escalate it to them.

I have shown more than enough proof, I really hate that I have had this experience, but I have learned a valuable lesson, you always hear people say, "be careful buying online, don't get scammed" and you say "oh, no, not me, that ain't gonna happen" until it does. Whether I get my money back or not (and I really pray i do) at least she is outed now and hopefully won't be able to do this to anyone else. I want to thank everyone on this forum for their support and steady efforts in trying to get to the bottom of this so that it can be resolved. Happy hissing 🐍

Me being new to the snake world, I guess I was an easy target.

Even people who have been around a while can get taken. It's so easy to trust someone talking a good story and especially someone who takes the time to build a relationship before unleashing the scam.

Looks like you are doing great with getting stuff uploaded with attachments. If you would attach the Facebook messenger screenshots as well, it will make them permanent (you may be doing this as I type, I type slow). That's the whole reason for the attachment rule.

In any case, what happens here is you present your story and your evidence. Each person here draws their own conclusions from the evidence presented. It's clear what my conclusion is and I applaud you for coming here and presenting your evidence, especially when you had never heard of the BOI beforehand.

Sometimes it does result in the situation being made good. In this case, I think it's going to take PayPal.

Amy, sometimes a scammer will attempt a last ditch scam, and will tell you that they cannot get to their funds to refund you because Paypal has frozen them on account of the case, and if you would only drop the case they would be glad to refund. Don't fall for that, once a case is closed ordinarily it cannot be reopened, and if you close the case the scammer sends no refund.

Hi Amy! As others have noted, even people who are long time hobbiests get scammed sometimes. I am really sorry this happened to you, but I am grateful that you are considerate enough to warn the rest of the community! Thank You!

PayPal can take a little time, but there doesn't seem to be a single reason that they wouldn't find in your favor, and I believe you will get your money back. While I realize that it isn't really any consolation, if you really think about it Summer and her husband could easily be pitied. It must be a miserable life to live that way (especially those poor children!), and from the other public information people have posted concerning their legal troubles, one can only assume that the "meth-life" must be an awful way to live...

Again, thank you for bring this to everyone's attention! Best Wishes!

Sadly, the police have bigger fish to fry and don't deal with these things, often calling them civil matters. Posting here and PayPal are your best remedies.

This. I know of one instance where the authorities got involved, but:
- One of the people ripped off was a cop in the scammer's home state,
- Some internet research by the cop found complaints going back years, and
- the amount stolen over the years was over $100,000.

At that point the state's AG got involved.

Just keep working through PayPal and the various feedback groups, and if she threatens to sic her attorney on you, tell her criminal defense attorneys typically don't handle defamation cases.

Does something on her public profiles mention meth? It's a bold accusation to make, regardless of whether or not she scammed Amy in this matter. Posts in this forum could potentially be seem by anyone searching Summer's name, including potential employers etc. Mentioning drugs like that is crossing a line, IMO.
