Hello everyone. I'm planning on getting a baby Savannah monitor. I have this really big, thick, clear rubbermaid bin with a locking top. I was thinking of cutting a hole in the top and putting wire mesh over the hole to put basking lamps on. I'm going to use reptile bark/soil that I've seen at petstores for a substrate. Do you think that the basking lamps would melt the plastic? Obviously I wouldn't have them touching the plastic at anytime, but I was wondering if it may melt the sides. I don't think the bottom will be effected because of the moist bark/soil. I appericaite any feed back. Thanks
