What's confusing to me is if she (spokanelizardlady) is Wendy Childs/Iwanow, then why is she posting things for her mother Jeane? If Jeane made the deal with Heidi and Gary (Caliente Dragons), then why is Wendy involved at all? 3rd party dealings are confusing enough, especially when combined with confusing emails from on person but another making a "Bad Guy" post. If someone else paid paypal to Heidi and Gary, why do they have to pay Wendy/Jeane? This whole thread is convoluted.
I don't think that Heidi should have offered the refund in the first place, and I do think that Wendy/Jeane (whoever made the deal) should have done more research as to what they would be getting, including asking for even more pictures of the rankins.
I don't think that they (buyer) should have shipped animal back before confirming that they would be getting a refund. Instead they just shipped the animals back willy-nilly, and expected the refund to be there instead of confirming. Seems a little reckless on their behalf.
If you want to be fair about the whole thing, then it's both parties fault that this has escalated thus far. Should Wendy/Jeane, (whomever it is, according to this thread they aren't even the people that used paypal to pay for the rankins), receive a refund? I think not, as it is buyers remorse. Should Heidi have even offered a refund in the first place; no. But as it stands, it is in writing that the refund was first offered minus shipping. I think an agreement should be made as to returning half of the bought price minus the shipping. Buyer should have done more research, and seller should have never offered the refund, but seeing as how both parties did what they did, I think that meeting in the middle would help put things to right.
I have to agree with nearly everything in this post. It is especially concerning that this has become a pattern, shown by the other Wendy/Jeane threads, that they would make a purchase, have some complaint and basically badger the seller into having to "be the bigger person" and give them something they don't fully deserve.
But the fact that a refund was offered at one point would be the only reason I could see going through with a partial refund as detailed above.
And as an aside, I find it reprehensible that someone who supposedly cares so much about the animals they purchase would just ship them back without even confirming a date and time first to be sure someone would be there when the dragons arrived. That is just plain reckless and spiteful, and not just to the sellers. She is damn lucky the dragons didn't get stuck in extreme heat outside for a long enough period of time to kill or do them serious harm.
