In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just wanted to know if anyone ever made a deal with these people.Wanted to sell my litter of het albinos to them, but they want me to ship first.Let me know something people.THANKS

I have not dealt with them in a few years but Ty has always been an honest sort to deal with. They generally pay on the low side but I would have no problem shipping first to him

Personally, it would have to be a very close personal friend for me to ship without receiving payment first.

The shipping first thing does seem odd to me.But I need the money. An as many times as I been ripped off in this business can't really trust no one at this point.

cal-zoo

TY is one of the most honest people in the business i sell him all the time, even so we have done business in the past we always do it that way i ship first and he overnight me a check the very next day.
so i would say you have nothing to worry about someone so honest and if your animals are great you don't have any problem getting your money right away.

Thanks for the very helpful info :yesnod:

ty will pay you, no doubt of that.

He will also take your babies and mix them with imports taken care of by geniouses that couldn't get jobs cleaning mouse cages. The death rate, unless things have changed dramatically, are signifigant.

He is a BIG wholesaler, buys and sell lots of stuff, will pay you and is someone I won't sell to in part because he's my competition and in part because of the way his animals are kept.

As long as I get my money, the deal will be ok.When he gets them what ever he does with the snakes is him thats out of my control.

Be very carefull, I would not want my name associated with his business at all. Sure you will most likley get your money but your animals will get sick and he will sell them to other companies. I would hate for your name to get rubed in. His place is filth. Countless dead animals in all the cages and lizards running all over the place. When you go in the door you gasp for air. My animals mean more to me than money and me sending them to deaths door. I talk to alot of people who say his facility is still the same as listed above. If you don't care for your animals then go ahead. Just my opinion, take it as you wish. Shanell.

Interesting take on things, not that it surprises me

I guess hearing that from the parents time and again had a lasting effect, eh Jack?

You made your decision so why don't you start packing up that litter for Ty, and kiss 3/4 of the litter goodbye, just tell them you'll meet again in that big rainforest in the sky.

Jack, in the future you should limit yourself to simply asking and answering questions. I would steer clear of any attempts at clever retorts. You don't seem to be well equipped to deliver them

Id say your mind is made up is about WHO is buying your litter and for WHAT reasons but I think your missing the big point here. Comments like these will mark you as " only in this for the money " . While some will overlook it others will very much shy away from someone like this due to the impression it can give. Human nature being what is , ideas will vary as to HOW MUCH your in it for the money ....

How often do you feed?
What corners do you cut?
How many babies do you keep in a tub?
How often you clean?
etc etc etc

Once these questions are asked in potential customers mind you have most likely lost that customer. How one carries themselves in the eyes of the industry is very important. If you come across as professional , carry yourself professionally and eventually known to be professional then you'll go much farther than you would by looking for somebody / anybody to dump a litter on to get a few bucks.

It may very well be in the hands of the wholeseller after he gets your animals and you get your check but YOUR name is still tied to THOSE hets you not only sold to him but that he will sell to others. Its YOU that will have to cover the crap storm of problems if there is a mix up and one YOUR hets don't prove for a customer. You might get lucky and your name will never come up and Ty will cover it but WHO is Ty going to come to for answers if he ties that " not able to prove het " back to you.

You've had some very well respected and knowledgeable folks give their opinion and advice. They've done this far longer than you in some cases. If you choose not to listen then the possible negative outcome is solely on you.

Again , maybe you'll get lucky but then again maybe you won't. I've never done business with Ty so I can't offer anything there. i however will offer this..

I would find the more / most reputable people people to handle my animals I have for sale. My animals are a mark as to the kind of keeper / breeder that I am. They are a signature of sorts of the way I choose to conduct myself and my business. They are my calling card as well as those I choose to sell them for me. Select those who sell YOUR animals for you carefully as they will ultimately reflect on you whether you like it or not.

YOU WILL GET PAID!

Ty is one of the best in the business! We have a perfect track record with Ty and Calzoo after many many years!

Thanks
Rich and John

Great people

This is a little late getting out, but I would concur that Ty is a very fair and honest person and definitely count on your money arriving promptly after he receives the animals (assuming they are properly represented). This is one of the few guys you don't have to worry about not paying you.....he will always make good on the deal.

Ty has a very good reputation for paying fairly and quickly. I sent him some geckos last month and I had a check 2 days after I sent them, which means he paid me before he recieved the shipment. Calzoo is one of the few companies I send animals to before I get paid.

Ken

I've used CalZoo several times without problem. I can't quite believe the 3/4 mortality statements. Seems to me if you loose 3/4 of every shipment you wouldn't be in business very long. Ty is a good guy..............he'll treat you well!

Yeah, well some people have to find a way to badmouth anyone who's more successful than they are.

It's unfortunate that moderators like Wes are allowed to slander people here, especially when they've admitted to being in competition with them. Unless Wes can back up his claim with substantial proof (and he can't), that's exactly what he's doing.

In any case, I agree. With the costs of overhead and cleaning/feeding, even a 35-40% mortality rate would effectively eliminate their profit margins on cbb animals.

Bottom line, if the animals arrive like they're supposed to, he'll pay just like he's supposed to.
