Funny story-
A few days ago my g/f was looking through the BP section of the KS classifieds (who's g/f or wife doesn't?) and comes across an ad for het pieds. She says "Hey, there's someone selling het pieds pretty cheap and you don't have to pay the second half of the money until they produce pieds." I froze in my tracks, looked over at the screen and started screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
True story.

If i had the money to throw away, i would buy a 100% het(fake) female to produce with my male JUST to put another notch in the belt!! But unfortunately (like many of the people on this board) my money is well earned (and pays the bills), an investment in a het female of that price would be great if in 3 or 4 years i would be producing 4k+ animals.
I just thought it funny that they actually said i would get banned and anyone that produces pied's from there stock has been banned!! Apparently everyone on the BOI are BAD GUYS, where all MEAN BIGOT bastards!!
So break out the pitchforks, torches, shovels and mob gear and let's all run to CRE's shop and burn it down YAY!! Oh wait, this is the civilized era.... I though so.

Offering true heterozygous for pied would certainly beat that.
More than likely BOI members are the one’s calling, they want to know how the ½ and ½ work, and if they will be able to share their success in the event they produce a pied. If they claim to hatch a pied the first one posting in here will be someone from CRE stating that’s not possible and that they want that breeder back as it was sent by mistake.
Yes, we have all seen the size of the picture it’s so miniscule that you can’t tell if it’s a ball or a boa!
Meaning you will NEVER be required to pay the other half. They have that right it’s the BEST PRICE ANYWHERE for a normal ball python. Just show me someone who can sell a normal baby ball for $500.

Recent CRE victim
Hello everyone.
I'm quite new to the BOI. I stayed up till after 5am last night reading over 200 posts on this thread. Unfortunately I am too late to prevent myself from a big mistake. I must say I'm full of mixed emotions. I am full of regret and feel really stupid for having fallen victim to CRE very recently when I bought 2.4 het pieds a couple weeks ago for $2000. I didn't fall for the "pay half now and pay the other half when they produce" gag. I felt smarter than that. I became involved with CRE because I was considering buying a pair of hets from a guy on KS that was selling the hets he bought from CRE. When I called CRE to do a reference check "Mark" (who is this guy anyway?) did a great job of making me feel comfortable about his animals. Gave me the "genetics for life guarantee" sh-peel. When I told him this guy on KS was selling the hets and I was considering buying a pair for 2k (which i didn't think was a killer deal but not bad) he laughed and said, paraphrasing - heck I wonder why hes selling them so expensive, Ill give 4 female hets for 2k. Of course I was shocked. I asked why he would sell them so cheap. [Mark] said, "I don't think its cheap thats just what I sell them for"......
And he went on convincing me that he liked to hook people up because he was just a good guy.
Apparently it is a deal to good to be true. The sad part is that I usually check the BOI but for some reason unbeknown-st to me I didn't this time. That is obviously my error and now I am ashamed to tell my wife that I sank $2000 of money we didn't have into what I thought would be a great investment for a small time breeder like myself. The snake in the bush has bit me in the butt. I'm impressed at the tremendous efforts by you regulars to expose CRE for the scum they are. There are so many red flags that I shouldve paid attention to and alas I am screwed.
I would obviously like to make a return and have not attempted this yet. After viewing the information on this thread it is apparent that I have very little chance of achieving a successful return based upon the absurd company policies they use to cover their scams. I have a lot of thinking to do to figure out how to fix this.
Although this may be vain, does anyone have any new info or experience with CRE this year (05-06) that may shed any light on my situation. I'm sure as heck not going to raise these snakes for the next 4-5 years trying to pull piebalds out of a hat only to have them eventually consider a refund.

I stated my original inquisition to the ad on KS wrong. I was not considering buying a pair for 2k but a trio of 1.2 het pieds.
Also, the guy with the ad on KS had pictures of the snakes and the paperwork which is one of the reasons I felt comfortable about my conversation with [Mark] on the phone.
My guess is that the kid selling CRE's hets discovered this forum too late too and probably wanted to get rid of them asap. That is only a guess.

They are actually selling them for 100% heteros not "possibles". Your suggestion to Brendan is a good one. He could actually raise those 2 females (from what I understand he has 2) and sell them in a couple of years. If they are of good size he can probably get $300 for each. Of course he would have to deduct the cost of all the feed and the time invested in them.

You could also raise the females to breeding weight. Then buy a 100% hetero male from a reputable source and breed them to him. At least you will be producing "possibles".
Regrettably not everyone reads this board, and some have even denied the validity of the claims posted in this thread. I'm sorry you got taken.

Im sure I can get good money for the females if I raise them to a good breeder weight and sell them right at the beginning of breeding season. People pay good money for a breeder girl at that time. I probably would to if I had a ten thousand dollar co-dom male to go around. Youre obviously going to make your money back just fine.
On the other hand I may try to sell them. As much as it stings and presents little chance that someone will buy them I am integritable enough to be completly honest about the snakes with the buyer. Who knows. Some people like to take that chance.
For example I actualy met Craig Kade today (who has posted many times on this thread) by accident at the local reptile show. He was a vendor. We found common ground quickly when I stated that as much as I wanted a snake he was selling I couldnt afford it because I had just been scammed out of 2k for hets. He asked, "were they het pieds"? as to which I replied "yes". "Was it HCE"? "yes". He said he had the same happen to him in 2002 and then told me he saw my recent post as of two days ago. He raised them up anyway and I think he said he bred them and produced nothing (I could be wrong-cant remember exactly). But he actaly sold one of the females this year to a guy who knew the truth about the scam and still bought it for $1500 and said "Ill take my chances". So who knows right.
Of course there was no way I was going to let my buddy take any wrap for mistake so I gave him his money back. This is my responsability to fix. Anyone intersted in 2.4 het pieds??? lol

Hey who knows, I might actualy get lucky and produce something out of them and be the first to give credit to CRE. But until then Im not holding my breath and I certainly think they are scum for all the heart ache theyve caused so many people. Not to mention all the other grotesque horror stories on other threads about their venomoids. But we wont go there.
