In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Carson Phelps, anyone done recent business with him

Thanks Carson hope to hear from you soon...not here trying to ruin your rep just wanted something done or "made right" like I was told...as for keeping the animals in the back of my truck...I explained to you I wanted to keep them inside of a tote which wouldnt fit inside the cab so I put the tote back in the box of my truck WITHOUT the animals in it and kept them in the deli cups on the passenger seat...and you did not explain anything about a discount or replacement animal or we wouldn't be here....but thanks for your acknowledgement of the situation...again I hope to hear from you soon

Not Friend just met him on tuesday for a purchase he made from me. By the way Andy is the name that came up on his email. I will reframe. Looking at pics closer they are not the same. However I will let Andy explain. Truthfully I really don't care how you feel about things adding up. You aren't the person that makes the Decisions. And YES that 1st pic is of the died mojave.

Not quite sure what that last post even really means. While we are not the people that make decisions as to how this particular issue is handled, we are the people who make decisions about whether the op vs the subject of this thread is honorble and trustworthy. A big part of deducing that decision is based on how this thread goes. It doesnt add up and something is wrong, therefore, from this thread, Carson is a great guy to deal with.

So, maybe we can actually get an explanation on what the two pics are of and trying to accomplish by posting them.

To help with any confusion...both of those pics do look like young mojaves

I agree they are not the same snake tho

Sooo the snake died by overheating on the way home with you?

This is Carson's fault?

I'm just a tiny bit confused...wanting to clarify I guess.

I don't understand, why is bob is answering questions or posting pics (especially ones of two different snakes) for the op when he has nothing to do with this. How do you know where he was headed in the afternoon or what position the deli cup was in or where he kept the snake? You told us you don't know "andy" so whats the deal? Your attitude alone is going to make you a name for yourself.

Even in the A/C. In a clear container it doesn't take much sun at all.

Your opinion not mine

Shelly's statement is a fact not opinion.. "In a clear container it doesn't take much sun at all" Particularly with hatchlings.

Years and years of witnessing and hearing the stories of those who made the same mistake after and during a show is a testament to such.

Hatchlings heat tolerance is a lot less than adults or dragons (which I believe you keep).

I think it is fair to ask in the three hour car ride home with snakes on the passenger seat you know if he stopped for gas or got out to have some lunch and left the snakes?

You never leave a snake in a deli cup in direct sunlight, period. A/C or not

Clearly two different snakes in the pics. We got that. What I dont understand is what was previously mentioned that you would have been happy to just get half of what you paid. If this snake really did die and you thought it was no fault of your own ( it is until proven otherwise), then why wouldnt you be like most people are and request a full refund?

Carson,
Was the pic that was posted of the live mojo your photo? If not and the pic was taken in the car, then wouldnt that mean that there were 2 mojaves in the vehicle?

I may just be over thinking it?

The above post was true about hearing and seeing this play out over the years.

Embarrassing and regrettable as it is, I think I should also admit it happened to myself. I was delivering a large wholesale order. I started out early in the morning with most of the snakes packed in deli cups inside another container in the back of my car. Two deli cups didn't fit and I tucked them on the side and thought they would be out of the sun. Well, almost at my location the freeway's position to the sun changed and the two deli cups caught the sun for about 10-12 minutes. I had the AC on. When I stopped and went to the check the snakes one was in convulsions and one seemed OK. It wasn't overly hot in the car but I fried my hatchling in minutes inside that deli cup.

It doesn't take much. I learned a valuable lesson at the cost of the snake. Never put them in position that they get direct sunlight in a deli cup.

Growing up herping I quickly learned, after cooking a couple animals unfortunately, that critters in containers placed in the sun RAPIDLY expire.

A greenhouse is built of any material that passes sunlight, usually glass, or plastic. It mainly heats up because the Sun warms the ground inside, which then warms the air in the greenhouse. The air continues to heat because it is confined within the greenhouse, unlike the environment outside the greenhouse where warm air near the surface rises and mixes with cooler air aloft.

I'm not really sure why no one will answer the simple question that has been asked a few times already, regarding the photos that were posted and if they are supposed to be the same snake or not. It seems fairly obvious to me and others that have commented that they are in fact different snakes. I really hope that Carson will chime back in with his take on the photos and if the pic of the live snake is his photo and if the deceased snake is in fact one that he sold to the poster. I guess we will wait and see how that plays out.

On the subject of the snake dyeing due to being exposed to sunlight in the deli cup regardless of the a/c being on is more than just possible it's almost a given. We're not talking about a 15 minute drive it was exposed to these conditions for 3 hours. It doesn't take much to over heat a young snake and from the info offered I can't see any other plausible reason for its sudden departure. The buyer inspected the snakes when he purchased them so I'm guessing there was no health issues that he could see or he would not have purchased it. A snake that seems perfectly healthy then goes for a 3 hour ride on a car seat in a deli cup there's not a whole lot of possibilities for the cause of death. Other than being exposed to a heat spike in a very small container with no way to escape from the heat for an extended period of time. That's if in fact the deceased snake pictured is the actual snake that Carson sold, hopefully that clarification will become available shortly.

If it is the snake he sold him with the info provided I can't see how Carson is responsible for the mistake the buyer made during transport. Yes it sucks to have something you just purchased die and it sucks even more when it's your fault. But just because a huge error was made one that I'm sure many have made while transporting reptiles without putting them in a styro or even a cardboard box to protect them from the sun, as mentioned above.

I really feel bad for the snake, and for Carson as I don't see this as his fault in the least unless more pertinent info on the matter is offered.
Hope this gets settled!

Hi everyone. Sorry it took so long to get back on here. Spending time with my son. I'm having problems opening those pix. The mojo het ghost picture he sent me was the snake I sold him that died within 3 hours in his truck I believe that the snake dieing is not my fault at all, overheating was what killed it. But It's alot easier to take care of the situation and move on. I feel bad for the snake.

Carson the reason we are questioning the pics is because there are 2 pictures

the first one is of a dead Mojave in a deli cup

the second one is a live shot, like for a sales ad, I can only assume it the one that was in your ad when selling it

the issue we are having is that these two snakes do not match

Did you sell the animal that was pictured in your ad or was it a generic picture of a Mojave simply for use in the ad.

Carson sent me pictures of (4) different snakes he was selling at the time those being the mojave het ghost,a male spider,a male spotnose, and a pic of 2 womas, ill work on posting those when I get to a computer....now the 2 snakes I showed interest in were the mojave and spider...and the spider I have now which is thriving(eating every offer, active, sheds fine) is the SAME snake as in the pic I was sent...again ill get both of those posted later....the issue I'm having is if the mojave I purchased and died 3 hours later on the ride home is NOT the same one I recieved a photo of....then is it NOT possible I recieved an unhealthy animal that wasn't eating and in good enough health to make it through a car ride home??? Now you can say I am a newcomer to the ball python business ,but I am not a newcomer to having reptiles as pets ...I have purchased and SUCCESSFULY kept many different animals as pets in my home (cornsnakes, boas, ratsnakes, geckos, bearded dragon, etc) I have even made numerous purchases out of state,,,, at shows ,expos and from many a private breeder as far as 4-5 hours from home....now I can understand everyone's basic conclusion that I "cooked" this particular animal but I'M having a hard time believing that I was ignorant enough to make this mistake , or if MAYBE I was taken advantage of being or seeming like a "rookie" aka pictures ....again Carson if you can tell me that the snake I purchased was the same one you sent the pic of then I am done here and thank you ALL for your time and consideration
