In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Chuck Tornetta from NJ - Classic bait and switch

Yes the ad said 1000 - 2000 gram animals but when we started make a deal talk . the only thing I promised was adult proven females . NO WARE ON HIS RECIEPT DOES IT SAY BETWEEN 1000 AND 2000 GRAMS , ABSOLUTLY NOWARE !

Chuck .

Really Mark gimme a break I told you they just laid eggs .they cant weigh the same as they did when I posted the ad.
Chuck

Ir really seems like you were talking about the snakes in the ad 1000-2000 grams.

And, proof is an integration, the receipt and the ad together seems proof enough that you were both talking about the animals in the ad 1000-2000 grams.

Well--first things first---Chuck was really freaked out about my verbiage about "I will not let this go" etc. He actually just sent me notice that he was forwarding all my emails to a detective----

I mean no harm----I come in peace.

My implied dedication to singing the song of the scammed accidentally came across like I was a psycho! oops--I mean no harm---just reputation harm if its warranted.

Chuck just called me on the phone and offered to send me a 1500g female for $50 + shipping or a smaller female for free. After A LOT of screaming, cursing and yelling---we calmed down and agreed to revisit his offer on Sunday when I return from my business trip.

So---we are on hold for a resolution until Sunday---but Chuck and I are being civil to each other. (And I swear--you do not need protection from me! Holy cow!)

You can really see who is in this hobby JUST for the money. There is no doubt in my mind, that anyone who has spent over $250 on a snake would like to make their money back one day, but, this is different.

The ad says a certain size animal. If you are knocking 50% off, and want to play the, "I sent him proven breeders" card, some people might buy it. BUT, you so generously knocked off a whole $15, and send him animals worth probably $100 less than what 2000 gram animals would be worth! Come on, we were not born yesterday!

You should have made it perfectly clear, to use a Ball term, Crystal clear, if your plan was NOT to send the advertised animals. It looks like you made a sale, for nearly your asking price, kept the advertised animals, and sent smaller ones. That is wrong, and borders on fraud. If you cannot see that, you have been blinded by the dollar, and should get out while you can.

I'd take the smaller one for free. The 1500 gram may only be a 1,000 grams, heck the smaller might be a hatchling, heck maybe he can just send you a egg.
I hope you wear gloves when you open the next box...just in case.
That is the lousiest packaging job I have seen in a very long time, especially for someone who has been in the business. I hope Chuck's wife does not come here and find the missing pillowcase off the bed. Did you at least wash it first? 3 snakes in one bag? c'mon Chuck watch the video at reptster and learn how to ship, oh and get some of their FREE boxes.

Although nothing is set in stone, when you refer to the weigh of an animal it's understood that you are talking about empty weight and not weight plus one, two or three rats.

One other thing is it just me or the ball in the middle picture has an old scar?

Not just you. I saw it as well. Looks like a healed injury on the side.

Holy crap--I feel like I have been through a battle! My first BOI thread---I have wondered what it would be like!

First off--thanks for everyone's support. It's clear that it made a difference. I'm glad I found a place where people share some hobby values with me. I know this was "only" a $300 deal---but it wasn't about the money.

Chuck just called me and offered me a 800g female, shipped--for free. Since I am headed out of town today and won't return until Saturday, Chuck has agreed to ship her next week, probably Monday.

The cash from my sale had to be immediately used to pay some bills---so this offer of a free animal will have to satisfy me as a buyer in this deal. Chuck did offer larger animals as well. I appreciate that Chuck is motivated to make a gesture here.

I won't breed these girls this year---but just wait until next year. I promise GOODYEAR BLIMPS!!!

I would not do biz with a vendor if I felt I was going to have to do battle if anything went wrong. I work too hard for my money and there are too many vendors out there that will make any mishaps right without a lot of aggravation and in fact who will do what they say they are going to do in the first place.

:NoNo: I can see this two ways. First off the buyer should know a good price when he see's it and not lowball the asking price. The seller needs to stand firm on the price being it was fair to begin with and not substitute the animals because of someone not wanting to pay the asking price. Well since that's water under the bridge we need to compromise. The buyer wanted bigger snakes and after some haggling the seller is willing to work something out but the buyer said no. Both of you made some mistakes here. Seller, never pull a switch and buyer realize a fair deal when you see it. I ship animals and can tell you first hand that it's expensive and never a set price. I personally won't go any lower than my asking price because the shipping sometimes cuts into the deal. I would have taken the heavier snakes and been done with this but now you have no chance it seems. Good luck.

What?
The seller DID pull a switch.
If he didn't want to let 1000-2000 gram females go for that price he should have said no to going any lower.
You can't blame the OP for trying to get a better price. The economy sucks and money is tight.
This is completely Chucks fault for not providing what was in the ad or letting the buyer know he was making a substitution.
There should have been NO haggling over size. Chuck NEVER told him he was changing the deal and sending animals SEVERAL HUNDRED grams smaller than what he advertised.

WOW !!! either 1 of 2 things here are going on with this post .
1) your a good friend of Chucks and trying to get the blame for this off Chuck .
2)you didn't read very good and are just posting to post .

its apparent that Chuck did in fact pull a bait and switch
by his own admission has this been proven .
the ad said 1000-2000 Gram females not all under 900 grams ..

and the buyer never lowballed anyone he just simply stated " Whats Your Best Price you can do?"

sop rattler call your buddy Chuck and you 2 can come up with another response together for you to post
so you need to just not post again because you seem to have no clue to what your talking about ..
