Ritchie,
I probably should not even be writing this, because I would really like to see this filter to the bottom of the proverbial stack, however, there is something amiss with your analogy, I think.
You see, when bad guys use guns, good guys do go after them with guns too, but those good guys (the cops) are given a very specific task to perform and they are permitted to do use that type of force when the same would not be acceptable for others. Yes, you may certainly protect your life, liberty, and property with necessary force if a "bad guy" comes into your home, but you may not chase after him and invade his home to retrieve him for justice if he were to initially get away. The cops alone can do that.
Do I think Corey is a bad guy? No. But by the same token, I would not have done what he did, and I would have suffered loss before I stooped to that level. That is my own personal ethic, and each one of us has to adopt his/her own. All I have ever said about Corey and his actions is that he lied to get his way. He did it to save himself $500, and I do not agree with doing such. We can dress it up and call it whatever we want, but the reality is still the same. Obviously, there are some who see this issue differently than do I, but I won't be changing my mind about my own actions just because others for whom I have respect disagree with me. I wouldn't expect you too either.
In short (too late!), I guess this is going to have to be one of those areas wherein we will have to agree to disagree. No one was ripped off. Corey is not a bad guy. I just have to question what I see him say for a while, but that's my problem, I guess.
