    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but I am getting no response from Mr. Shays and it is rather frustrating considering it is only a small problem. Here's the story.

Mr. Shays posted an ad on Pangea for an AC Female crested gecko. I PMed him there inquiring about her, and that night Paypaled him the money. We agreed on him shipping on the following Monday for Tuesday delivery. I then messaged several times to confirm that we were still on for shipping until finally getting a reply after leaving a public message on his profile. Alas, TN weather decided to be a pain and the temperatures were going to be too low that night and the following, so we agreed on Wednesday night for Thursday morning. Wednesday afternoon I get a message from Mr. Shays stating he had been called into work and wouldn't be able to ship that day. He asked if Thursday for Friday delivery would be alright, and stated he would throw in a free gecko for the mishap. I agreed.

I received the AC gecko on Friday (4-8-11), but nothing else. It sucked, but I couldn't bring myself to complain to him about not receiving my free gecko. So I shrugged it off. A few days later I was able to weigh the gecko (didn't have batteries for scale) and she only weighed 16 grams, not 20 like I was told. Oh well...no biggy. Then Tuesday (4-19-11) I saw something odd with my little female...she was growing a bulge. I checked, and I see pores. Kicking myself for not checking sooner, and trusting that Mr. Shays would be honest about the sex of the gecko.

I immediately messaged him on Pangea to bring this to his attention in the hopes of fixing the mistake. I received no response. I decided a few days later to check to see when he was on last. It said his last activity was on 4-24-11. On 4-25-11 I messaged him once again, and never received a response. Checked his last activity the next day. It said 4-26-11. At this point I'm getting frustrated. I messaged him once again on 4-27-11. I have yet to receive a response, but he hasn't been on since 4-26-11. This, however, doesn't excuse him from ignoring my other messages. I also tried to message him on his Facebook tonight, and it looks like it has been deleted. He had an ad posted on here the other day as well, and it is gone now. Not sure if a mod can maybe see it?

Honestly, a miss-sexed crested gecko is not that huge of a deal, although I am sure that if he had louped this gecko, he would have seen the pores. We could have worked out a very simple solution to a small problem easily, yet he is refusing to answer me.

ok reptile chick.... i had posted a probable female so i refereed to it as a her and on my ads i had said PROBABLE i had looked and it looked like a female and it was too young to be 100% sure of the sex and you knew that if you know cresteds.. next thing when we discussed things i never once said anything ANYTHING about a free gecko why would i throw in a 60-150$ gecko for some minor shipping delay because of the weather something that i couldn't control at all please stop stating false information.

and furthermore you told me the day you would of wanted me to ship and i didnt when the weather was good for the animal to me it is and always will be the animal first if i have to ship out a few days later for the sake of the health of the animal then you as the future owner should be pleased to see that i am taking care and consideration into the mix when i do business

the main thing that got me mad and stopped communication between us was the fact that you being a reptile "lover" didn't have the decency to be there the day the gecko arrived when you said that you would be home i got 4 messages from UPS stating that the resident at the home was not available to sign for the package and this was when the "clock" started for the gecko they had to wait another day to give it to you while the heat pack inside the package was being used up and possible malnourished the animal being inside the package for extra time that is why we as breeders and sellers have to ship overnight delivery so that it gets there in as quick time as possible

i second guessed myself after i sold it to you seeing as on Facebook you posted about how one of your geckos had just died Q-tip i think it was and you said how you couldn't get it to eat. there are help and support out there on most websites for just this problem that you could of easily went out and read about and tried to save that gecko instead of messaging me every day all day about something as dumb as a gecko being sexed too early and then ending up being a male. as i stated before on my post it said "PROBABLE FEMALE" is that 100%... NO..... we refereed to it as a her because it was probable the bulge and pores had not developed yet and that as a gecko owner is something you have to take risks and deal with

Im not sure what you wanted me to do i had already given up one beautiful gecko to as i presume is a inexperienced owner and that is something i dont like to do. i like to know that my geckos that i sell will be treated as greatly as i would have treated them myself i know that is not always the case but still that is something i have to deal with myself....

i am sorry that it was not a female as we thought it would be but you are trying to slander me for nothing you even stated that when you got it a couple days later you started to see the bulge develop and the pores to come in so when i looked how could i 100% tell you it was any sex???

you really need to think about things before you act on them, and lastly i have sold hundreds of geckos and this is the first problem i have had so far and with you i had two of them this minor one and the one that could have proved fatal for the gecko... it was supposed to be signed for on a fri but since you werent there it would have to be held till mon due to the weekend but you had to call ups to go get it instead of being the responsible owner and be there for arrival

i did say something about the free gecko my bad i messed up about that but you didnt post the message about how you said you did not want it and that you didnt have space for it? im sure you knew if you woulda posted the whole convo about that they would see how YOU said YOU didnt want it im sorry for the misunderstanding about that last post about the free gecko part everything else TRUE!!
 
One thing is NEVER EVER send paypal payments as personal payments unless you know the person. As these payments are final. No claim can be filed on them if the buyer backs out on you and takes the money. This is why Fees are not taken out as paypal figures you know the party.
 
Whew...alright. You're ad never said "Probable". I have a screen shot to prove it I'll post in a moment.

I had no problem waiting for shipment, and even stated in the message you are talking about that I was joking when I said that:

I had already explained to you why I didn't answer the door. I never once heard a knock. I immediately contacted UPS when I woke up (slept through alarm) and they brought him back by. I didn't get any sleep because of my other gecko passing the night before, and which I stayed up late to completely clean and disinfect all caging, decor, and supplies.

I am in no way inexperienced with reptiles. I kept and bred crested geckos a few years ago, and had to get out due to personal issues.

Rich, yes, I understand that now. I will never make that mistake, and glad Paypal was still charging a fee on 'gifts' when I did this transaction.
 
Also, the shipping delay was not due to weather, it was due to you being called into work. I had no issue not receiving the free gecko, and never once did I claim I could not house a free gecko. I simply stated:

i can just as quickly provide screen shots about you saying that you did not have room and in our convo i had stated it was a probable female you are making this into something that it isnt what are you trying to do with this it is over and done with leave me alone and stop trying to get ahold of me via facebook i blocked you!

and on your facebook you said hand soap wasnt doing good eating so you needs to get your facts straight miss and it was the WEATHER! seeing as i couldnt ship at 40* a night i had stated that previously jesus you are messed up leave me alone for real stop talking to me
 
Provide those screen shots then. I have a screen shot of EVERY single message we sent back and fourth. Not once did you say Probable Female, and not once did I say I didn't have room. If I didn't have room for geckos, why would I be trying to put breeding groups together? I have an entire room dedicated to them.I haven't tried contacting you on Facebook. Wasn't able to since you deleted it.

The first shipment delay (which wasn't technically a delay, we were planning shipping) was due to weather, which I was perfectly fine with. The SECOND delay was due to you being called into work, as your PM specifically states.

Stop talking to you? I didn't even reply to your PM you sent me tonight called me 'screwed up in the head'. I sent the message about this thread, and have since only responded to you here, as there is no need for any private messaging at this point.

i did not delete my facebook i simply blocked you due to you sending me a message about a min i am done talking to you keep going ahead and killing your animals you inexperience lizard owner idc how much you room you had or have set up for them you told me you didnt want another one.... im telling you this once last time stop talking to me you are getting nothing out out me and im doing just fine not selling to you anymore or talking to you! honestly leave me alone stop talking or anything delete me and if you have a problem with the crested sell it its worth more now as a male and it was a steal when you bought it any how so stop talking to me and im never doing buisness with you again thank you have a wonderful rest of your inexperienced life :)

The rude comments are not necessary. I have not been this way to you. I will repeat myself one more time...I am NOT inexperienced. I've had reptiles since I was 11, my first being a bearded dragon I had for 10 great years. I will not stand for those types of comments.
 
i have not once lost one of my reptiles due to things like you have i have been selling for quite some time and i have had reptiles for a long time so please im asking kindly this time stop freaking talking to me you crazed looney!!! :) YOU ARE NOT A GOOD REPTILE OWNER
 
That's great, I applaud you for that. This isn't about the freak accident with that gecko. This is about you misrepresenting an animal and refusing to answer my PMs regarding the problem. Stop with the insults.
 
i had just received a comment on my facebook stating you should feel lucky to have a male and that they are harder to get a hold of this coming from a herpetologist thanks though am i just so annoyed with you being harassed at least 4 times a day with messages from you i might just file a harassment suit thanks for the idea :)
 
ok this comment coming from a herpetologist im gonna go with his word over miss looney! and no i have alot more than 3 messages i dont have to waste my time with you if i was you id sell your geckos before you kill another one :)
