To all those who would like to know
I recently made a purchase from Dale Picolla of a medium sized water monitor ssp for 1500.00 I recieved the animal and on inspection I noticed a bleeding lost nail and a disoriented animal. I decided to put it in the cage and see what happens. I tried to called Dale with no answer so I left a message. I then sent him an email regarding the matter which he did eventually email me back and we have been going back and fourth for 2 weeks almost now with nothing from Dale.Just emty promises. i tried to file a FEDEX claim but he shipped the animal against Fedex regulations, IE no identifying markings and let no one know that there was an animal in the box. The cabashed my claim in 24 hrs. The matter is simple I paid for a healthy animal and did not get one. I am into it for 2000 now because xrays and comprehensive blood and fecal tests. I am not even asking for the vet money just my purchase price back. He is now avoiding me and not taking my calls or emails. I did not want it to come down to this but since he is now avoiding me.
Emails start from bottom and work there way up
Message bodyAnimal was not shipped this way and needs to be xrayed or scan imaging mri... I have not recieved video or pictures...I thought you had vet coming to see the animal.. Your stories are not adding up and here it is days since you recieved the animal and i have not seen this video or picture.. The animal more then likely had internal injury...form thrashing violently... In fact at this point we need to use a non biased vet to examine the animal becuase I am not taking your word for it.. Quit accusing of sending out a sick animal.. NOT THE THE WAY IT WAS SENT... I cant even beleive you own monitors.. Do you you even have a clue at what happens to a monitors motor drive if it has a spinal injury... DO YOU.. And what would you like me to do for you..Open to suggestions..

I am still waiting for a reply on what to do here? Let me know what we are going to do as soon as possible. I need to plan everything out. I am trying to go to daytona and this is starting to hinder my plans. This animal is fucked and it is my belief it was shipped this way. There is no signs of injury that would cause this. Please take care of this. Keep me posted.

My belief now is that th animal has a spine or some other internal skelatel issue from an unsettled trip.. As i stated the animal was not happy in the bag and the probably did irreversable damage to cause a motor drive malfuntion... Seems like part of his body is not working right.. I need pics please and the vet needs to x ray or MRI...

Animal had no viral or bacteria overloads when it left my facility. I but I am almost wondering if the animal injured its spine in transit.. Ok. great. Jimmy Gorman is coming to view the animal.I.remember Jimmy when he was knee hight to his brother...FOR REAL. I will be in Daytona.. I am almost reluctant to say it but the people who will be at the show and there is a legion will tell you one thing about me.. ALWAYS... Hello.....Funny you say septic shock? There is no bacteria(harmful anyway) or viruses present at my facility? I used fresh play sand brand new to that animal. No branches or any dirty material. I built a brand new hide box just for the quarantine process. So it came with whatever infection it may have. Its nail/toe are not swollen or showing any signs of infection. There was not a tremendous amout of blood loss. The water has been crystal clear with no signs of waste lingering. If it is septic shock or sepwe have a real problem because this is not something that occurs overnight. This takes time and is probably from a viral or bacterial overload. The muscle tissue does not soften overnight. It will also most likely be fatal and if not the animal will be worthless afterwords. I have John A and Jimmy Gorman coming to take a look tomorrow but vet comes monday. If my vet determines that this has been ongoing this can be expensive and do not like the circumstances. What do you suppose we do from here? I do not want to let the animal just die? I will send video tomorrow, my batteries were dead.

First off, I can see the nail busting off because when i Put the animal in the bag it started twirling violently.. DID NOT WANT TO BE THERE.. The only issue i see is that the animal being aggresive int he bag along with shipping is probably very disorientated and very dizzy. Let me ask you something. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK FOR A MINUTE I WOULD PUT AN ANIMAL IN A BAG LIE THAT AND SEND IT TO YOU... ARE YOU SERIOUS.. I HAVE A GOOD REPUTATION AND I WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO YOU RON.. Hello As I said I was going to wait until monday anyway for the vet. I have to take it to the vet anyway, I take all new animals or he comes here. I also need bloodwork done and sexing. He comes bi monthly anyway. He brings interns/trainees from the college to my place to work with the reptiles. As far as getting angry Imagine how I feel you got your money. I am mad as hell but this is what we deal with in livestock. The animal has lots of fresh water and has the energy to eat just flops over when it turns its head to eat. You dont need to talk about body weight I can keep a legless blind monitor fat and healthy looking that means nothing to me. The real fact here is there is a muscular problem with this animal because it is soft all over. There is serious signs of muscular deteriation or atrophy. It has no muscle strength or solidness to it. The tail muscle is mushy and weak and its legs dont seem strong either. I will See how everything goes by monday. I dont know where to go from here but I will let you know what happens here with the animal.

Hello, Well I put it in the cage and left it to hide and come out on its own. I left (2mice) food in the cage on a dish and they were just left there. Today it was out so I tried to tong feed it fresh salmon from the fish market. The thing is twirling like a ballarina when you feed it flopping over while trying to eat. Its half retarded or blind and walks around like a stargazing snake looks. I dont think this animal has the ability to catch a live pinky let alone be in good health. This does not look like a shipping issue. It was not hot when I recieved it and was not in the box more then 20 min after arrival. It had lost alot of blood from a ripped off nail but not enough to cause symptoms like this. I am probably going to take it to the vet if nothing gets better by monday as it is I need to have him run all the tests anyway. It has been in a 6x3x3 with sand/coco mix and some mulch and leaf litter on top of sandy substrate. It has a large box and ample basking and proper lighting. Whether its male/female is of no concern for me because it was not guaranteed sex but this thing is fucked up like Ive never seen before. I also tried to call you day of to tell you something wasnt right but I didnt want to leave a message I wanted to talk to you. Also I do not understand why you say you shipped it? I thought you were in FL? It was shipped from California so whats up with that? I am going to take a video of it tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
