    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

And another quick update: After listening to him rant about how Deb is lying for some unknown reason I finally suggested that he take some better pictures of the snakes in question with a piece of paper showing the current date. I proposed that we'd leave it up to outside observers to decide. If they said that it was a Fire then I'd accept them and the deal would be done. If they said it wasn't then he needed to give me the $400 value of the trade. He stated that he would do so today under natural light with today's newspaper. I have tried to contact him today, but received no replies.
 
This guy is worthless. I had a very short, but telling conversation with him on FB. He's no good.
Though I do agree that there were some obvious signs that he is :icon_bs:,
I won't go blaming you.

The guy appeared to be trying hard and all avenues to get someone...he finally did. No way in hell everyone can always protect themselves. We can all do our best but when you have someone who acts like a vulture and constantly preys on everyone and their brother, sooner or later someone is going to get caught.

As I said, he is worthless. I also doubt you will be seeing much and if you do I would *assume* the animals will not be as described.
At this point you wil have to take what you can get OR get serious. (COURT)

He's a punk. Hopefully he will have some life changing event and disappear.

Well, he's started threatening me with a lawyer for damaging his reputation. I think he's handled that one well enough all on his own. I keep giving him the opportunity to settle this amicably and he keeps trying to shift blame onto someone else. I don't know if he's just a basically bad person, or is some kind of bind that he's trying to get out of, or what. In the end it doesn't matter.

Me too. He is using the same scare tactic as many when they are caught out, in order to hush up the other party from telling the truth. Read a few BOIs and you will see that when cornered, that's a classic threat.
 
Taking one last shot at making it right. I offered to let him return the Spider female and het Albino male +$100 and we call it even. I'll let you know what he says, if he even responds.
 
Well, he jumped on that deal. Unfortunately his way of paying the $100 is with cash in the box so there's no way to track it. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, but I still don't think he set out to screw me from the get-go. The whole thing has just been freaking bizarre. He's even including the "Fire het Albino" for free, saying that he wants an apology when she proves out.

I'm waiting until you actually receive the snakes and the cash instead of just the promises that he will send them. And hopefully, an apology to you for threatening you with his lawyer, if he has one, which I question.

Believe me, after all I've been through with this guy I'm not counting my chickens yet. I could receive a box of dead snakes, I could receive the wrong animals, I could get the right animals but not the money, I could get nothing... One thing I don't see myself getting is any kind of apology. If I do get what he's promised I'll at least be able to breathe easier. This past week has been hell.

Unfortunately, history has shown that our FedEx driver has an aversion to ringing door bells. I always take video of opening a box, and I will be extra careful on this one.

I would be at your door (on the front porch, really) at 7 am with a book. Camp out until the FedEx guy arrives. Then start filming as the guy hands you the box.

Hopefully you'll get some kind of compensation. That's just crap!
 
I would just insist on the cash.. he seems to run into many "problems" when it comes to him having to ship an animal.

:/ I hope you can get something worked out, but it seems more unlikely every time he changes his offer.. and with the comments from the other breeder... Very sketchy!!

I hope so as well. I still stick by my original post though, I really think he had every intention of ripping you off. I think he has every intention of ripping off anyone he can. I do not know this to be a fact, it is just my personal opinion. I'd wouldn't believe anything out of his mouth personally. I'll also say that IF you get anything back, I believe it will only be to cover his behind.

It'd be so easy to see it in black and white like that, but his behavior over the whole thing doesn't back that up. If he wanted to rip me off from the get-go then why make promises about extras, why call me after a week of silence with profuse apologies, and, biggest of all, why send me the 'Fire het Albino' for free???? That last one has me SOOO confused.

I just don't understand what this guy is thinking. Did he really think I wasn't going to check with the breeder he said he bought them from? And why continue the charade that she's lying about it. In all fairness, neither of them provided any proof of the conversations they referred to, but when I mentioned Deb several people spoke up for her character, and at least two stated that they had actually seen her collection and could verify that she has no fires.

Could be because this blew up into more than he thought. Or he's getting scared. Or he feels bad now that he's done wrong. Or....?
In my opinion, there are plenty of reasons for him to think twice about it all now.

I could be wrong. It's certainly possible but I also can not justify that in my own head. After talking to him, I'll stick with my first guess.
 
He was supposed to ship yesterday. I texted him several times and finally around 6 he replied that he'd left it with his Mother to ship, but hadn't been able to get in touch with her all day.
 
Update: The package is actually in FedEx's possession and should be to me tomorrow morning. I will be taking a video of the unboxing, and will post what I receive here.
