BAD FOR BUSINESS

Every time this guy Dan shows up on this site it's always for a good reason. I made the mistake of dealing with Dan before over some frogs. He called me names, saying I was a little kid, stop harassing him, same old business. Being a 26 year old working in a local pet shop for six years now I know a bit about good business and sometimes to just suck it up to make a customer happy. If I had known Dan would have been such a problem I would have waited until the next local reptile show to buy the red eyed tree frogs I wanted. After a huge mess on these forms Dan finally made good and refunded my money. I guess my point is if you want quality animals buy from someone who specializes in them or breeds them with professionalism. Most wholesalers who carry a wide variety of animals do not provide the animals with the care they require. If you watch “Animal Cops” you know what I'm talking about...people who have their basements filled with animals on top of animals, half of them are dead, sick, and just outright uncared for. After spending so many years not only going to reptile trade shows but also being a vendor at several you learn who to deal with and who not to. In all honesty specialized breeders always have the best healthy animals where venders who sell everything from spiders, rodents, snakes and lizards of all kinds even display their own poor quality animals on the table because they are in it for the money, not for the positive image of the reptile industry. Most of these vendors who are in it for the money also tend to be paranoid and think that everyone is out to get them or scam them. I know because I made the mistake of buying animals from these folks only to be severely disappointed with an animal that doesn't live through the night. Just wanted to pass along my thoughts on that.

Well, I don't know where the truth lies here. I see a lot of namecalling, and accusations unfounded by any REAL evidence, but once the IBD bomb was dropped, it seems the the original accusatory party has stepped out.

Is Dan a nice guy? I have no idea. But this whole affair stinks on both sides (IMHO).

I don't know what the actual truth is here, but I'm fairly certain we're not getting it.

Both sides seem to be less than forthcoming with any hard evidence of anything, except, "I suspect you screwed me, and I don't like you."

Sometimes, I am willing to take a shot on a WC specimen, but if you are shooting smoke up my ass about the origination of this particular specimen, you can certainly see why I might be a little perturbed.

Bill, they were sold as wild caught snakes and both were feeding on live mice and ate several times. They were not captive born nor represented in the sale as captive born. I have sold hundreds of viper boas and never heard of one dying before so don't know what happened to them? I do know they can stress easy from being handled too much or if you put them in with a rodent too long they flop over and die from stress if you don't take the mouse out after a day etc. As is the case, the fellow contacted and I said I would extend my live arrival guarantee to give him 2 more for 25 bucks which was a fine and decent offer besides the fact any other company would have perhaps told him nope. I cannot find any seller's guarantee that extends beyond live arrival for wild caught snakes nor cash refund. In any case, this fellow is happy with me sending him 2 more and it makes me feel good to do this for him.

There you go again. Threads on the BOI don't get deleted unless you violate one of the basics rules such as not putting your name on the post. Posts on the BOI are not edited unless the same occurs.

One more dig at this site I will follow up with what Rich stated on the other thread.

past many times. It has been discussed why threads aren't deleted but not that they are. There is no reason to lie about the site to try and bolster your argument.
