Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dan, Maybe the amnesia hasn't left yet. You keep stating that you "have never had a legitimate complaint", yet the complaints keep popping up. I guess that everyone else is an idiot and you are the only sane, straight person on the planet. You keep ignoring facts and alluding to all the supporting emails and phone calls that you are getting. To quote Wes Pollock, I say BULLSNOT!!!. I don't think that you would know the truth if it slapped you in the face, because it actually is right about now.Where are these supporters? You can't produce them because they do not exist. Yopu are not only lying to everyone, you are lying to yourself. In the beginning of this thread, you could have replaced, the boys skink or sent him the money. You were too stupid to do that. The package in of itself being late does not void any requirement of notification within the hour, it more so bears more attention to the matter. Anyway, why are you so upset a at me? You received 2 frogs and received a live arrival guarantee and they arrived alive and one died days later and I sent you a refund for that frog - which was beyond the terms of the guarantee.

What are you referring to that I lost? This is not a thread about win or lose, this is about some kid who overfed a skink and it died and he demanded to get something he was not entitled to, and he did not get it. And on this boa, I gave the guys money back months ago. The guarantee said live arrival. They arrived alive. I went beyond my guarantee to refund his money.

How is one supposed to notify in an hour of delivery if the package does not arrive when it was supposed to? Rerouted by accident on USPS's part? Oops! You employed them. Get your money back from USPS for the error and don't give the customer crap about it, Mr. Nice caring guarantee of a man.

I have bought snakes from Dan many times, and EVERY single animal I recieved from him was top-notch and I will continue to buy from him.

David, what legitimate complaint. If an animal arrives alive per the terms of the purchase, then that ends the deal. In all instances, I went beyond the guarantee/terms and provided compensation. I don't think you are an idiot, but if you are going to stand there and yell at me blue in the face that I packed a bloated snake when it appeared normal and healthy to me, then I don't know what else to tell you except I will never be convinced otherwise of what I saw. I ship many reptiles each week. I am very very very careful to examine each specimen head to toe. I have seen all these other complaints about a lizard missing a toe, a frog that won't hop, a turtle with an eye problem, so I am very very detailed about the exam I complete on the snakes I pack. I have a track record of thousands of reptiles shipped and no one has ever complained before.

And what happed to Wes? He would have been helpful in this thread. He was nice in the other issue with the frog. And I did offer to replace the skink. I told the father I would reconsider it this summer when I got more. I don't think sellers/buyers should be threatened and if you do not agree with that, then that is fine with me. What is this proof you want? I hear this and that about proof but what is it you want me to prove?

I have not denied the fact the snake arrived bloated and sick and the report said IBD, so even if I had some reports which said the animal was healthy, it still would not mean anything compared to what the guy unbagged and what was written in the report.

Dan you never answered my question can you get a necropsy report ? From your breeder proving they do screen there stock. Is asking for any kinda of relevant proof to much to ask for ? Anything that can contradict the report from a highly respected college ? Is all you have is some guy name Al you meet in a mall parking lot ? Who thinks its IBT.... Its been almost a week since this has been brought up. Any throw me a bone plz... We would just would like to the truth here...

Craig, If it was not strangled, then how did it go from a normal snake to a bloated snake in 16 hours. That looks like a gas bloat from a blockage in the intestine but the report did not say any blockage, so it had to be from the other snake.

I think I've been pretty level headed in my assessment of this situation, however, your inability to actually pinpoint which snakes were sent to whom (referring to the photos and their dates), and your unwillingness to make any attempt to lay out the quarantine protocols you took to put the members of this board at ease, I feel that any benefit of the doubt was undeserved. At this time I feel that negligence on your part is more likely than not.

Our conversation was a good one, but I think you've got some serious work ahead of you if you'd like to be considered a responsible herp keeper/seller in the future.

I hate to repeat my self Dan and I know your getting sick of this but can you prove there was a healthy snake when it left....... Ok just say it was from the other snake hypothetically the report still says IBD... All I have done from when I started posting in this thread was asking for anything that can back up your claims, over and over again . I really hope you do everything possible in your power to make sure there is no spread to anyone else collection. If I never hear anything for the rest of my life about Dan Scolaro and IBD. I would know you did. But for now its a big scare to the community

The other snakes never showed with any sickness, so if it is a virus, and it was as contagious as everyone keeps yapping about, then why hasn't the other snakes or anything shown with it?

Once more, if it did show, I would give the guy some compensation and end it. I did not make the snake or make a virus so what's the point here?

And who is this Mike you said I cried to? I had a good talk with Mike and made him aware that Chuck has been hounding me for years and this entire group is a bunch of loud mouths that are professional instigators and aggravators. Was I wrong? No

I shipped a healthy snake. It arrived bloated. I gave the guy some money. A month later he tells me it died and he has a report of IBD. It has been months since that snake departed and I have not had any boas but one since and the buyer said its fine. How can I prove the snake was healthy when I bagged it? I don't think anyone in the business could prove they bagged a healthy snake that arrived dead. So again, what you are asking me is something odd. If I had a photo of the snake the day before it was shipped, I would post that but don't have it because I did not feel it necessary to do that. If something happens with the stuff and there is a death or injury, you just refund the money and go onto the next deal. That is how it works. If you take pics of each and every animal you ship, then you spend tons of manhours doing that stuff.

Ok Dan you ready-- Some snakes can have the virus just like HIV and show no signs and just be a carrier of IBD.... That doesn't mean that it hasn't been infected...

Craig, right, so the only way to confirm it to be a virus is to kill the other snake and complete an exam. My money is that the inclusion cells developed from the snake being strangled and suffering for some time.
