    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dan Scolaro....

The last three shipments of snakes I received were sent fedx and all three times there was no knock or doorbell, however if i have animals coming I'm up by 8 am (fedx overnight usually by 10 am) watching and listening for a truck. I also constantly look out my front door because I've had them drop and run several times before.
 
I don't see how 2 hours will make a life-or-death difference with properly packed and shipped animals.
If it's so hot or cold that that could be killer (which OP says it wasn't) then wait to ship, ya?

Seems to me live arrival means live arrival. Rather than looking for ways to wiggle out of their guarantees I think folks will find it more productive in the long run to err on the side of helping their customer.

As for these "possible" replacements, man I would feel real uncomfortable about having to pay further moneys before even seeing the new animals :p

But if freezing is bad then why did he tell me to put them in my freezer? Assuming he knows that it would yield false results then it almost sounds like he was setting me up for failure.....this just gets better and better

Also nobody has said anything about my asking where I can find a reliable croc skink dealer, I take this to mean either nobody knows or there really aren't any reputable dealers in this species

For the record this is the last email I sent to him

You are just full of assumptions and snap judgements.

Maybe if you would have given Dan the time to do his research instead of continuing to attack and provoke him the outcome would have been different.

Lol....I don't know what your deal is friend but you need to look through the emails again. When did I attack him? when did I provoke him? quote me one attack that I supposedly shot his way. Dan was the one who jumped to all kinds of conclusions and now you seem to be taking his side for whatever reason. I would like to hear your opinion on the statement above the one you bolded in my quote...about Scolaro telling me to freeze the skinks do you have anything to say about that?

For your information I think I'm going to buy some skinks from Underground Reptiles I called them before they closed and the guy I talked to was very nice and it sounds like their DOA policy ACTUALLY covers DOA's.

I'll keep this thread up to date whenever I have anything new to add
 
The pictures you provided Dan were very dark and I am confident Dan wanted them frozen and shipped back for identification......you may have switched them out in hopes of getting something for free.

I notice you didn't back up your claim that I attacked Dan....

Sure the pictures aren't the best quality I took them with a web cam....it was either that or my piece of s**t cell phone camera. BTW my freeze dried lizard collection, that I use to scam herp dealers with, doesn't have any Triblonotus in it....if you can't tell that that was sarcasm then don't even bother responding to this

Do you just like to post so you can hear the keyboard make noises? I mean... really. If you even remotely had a clue you'd know the outcome wouldn't have been different. In all his years of business... NO ONE has ever had a legitimate complaint against Dan. Just ask him... he'll tell ya.

I asked him about that and he never said anything in reply, I don't think he cares anymore about making sure they are the ones he sent me.

Like I said he already offered to have a friend receive the second pair for me so I think he's already moved past that

Not only that, but unless you are certified to ship hazardous materials it is very unlikely that they will remain frozen when they arrive. I have had dead specimens shipped for research and the person sending them put in a bunch of frozen "blue ice" and it really did not work all that well. You would really have to use dry ice (which is a hazardous material).

On top of this, what is his "vet" going to be able to tell from a previously frozen animal. I can tell you he will find significant damage to the tissues due to freezing and will probably say this is the cause of death. Reptile necropsies are notoriously hard to get answers from without doing a TON of extra tests which I HIGHLY doubt Dan is willing to foot the bill for.

The vast majority coming into the trade are, to my knowlege, still wild-caught or "farm collected". They mostly seem to be available through wholesalers still, I don't see them much offered as CB or CBB.

Exactly

Which can only lead me to believe that his original plan was to have me send back said skinks, which he would then give to his vet who would tell him that I killed them by freezing them(or something like that) and then he would use this as some kind of excuse to keep from giving me any refund

But then after I told him that I filed a complaint with paypal suddenly he's willing to replace the skinks for free?! this guy makes no sense at all. Why not just do that from the very beginning?

Thanks, I think I figured out that situation

The situation with Scolaro on the other hand.....

Does anybody know if he really does have grounds to sue me in court? He can claim I voided his guarantee and maybe I did but I think anybody with a good set of eyes can see that I'm the one who was screwed over here

My only grievance is your talking out your :censored: You apparently dont have a clue as to Dan's background here. If you did... you wouldn't have made that post that I quoted. And last time I checked... I was also talking about Dan... and that IS the topic.
