In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dan White - Bad service and sort of a thief

There seems to be this question of my rudeness. And I know I'm probably going to regret putting this to the forum. But aside giving Randal a vocabulary lesson, and calling Sam a troll, what language have I used, and behavior have I engaged in that offended you?

Sam, I am sorry for the troll comment. You aren't one. I reread the thread. You have behaved with reason and restraint throughout.

Yes I said Dan White was sort of a thief. But consider this. Until this thread started up, he refused point to blank to work on any sort of compromise with me. Doing the right thing because people are watching does not make you a good person.

I read the rules for posting. They say, "Proof is not needed, but will certainly help support your claim." It seems like I am being roasted because I was foolish enough to do business over the phone. Which to me is much like doing business with a handshake. I can assure you that if this experience has taught me anything, it is that you have to use email.

Thanks for your time.

Aaron Framer.

If the guy needs mediums and gets larges, he can't use them. So it's the same as sending dead worms, or no worms, if the seller sends worms too large for him to use. So would it be theiving if he sent dead worms, and said "Too bad"? I have a hatchling AFT and large superworms wouldn't be usable for it, so it would be exactly as if the seller didn't send any at all.

Sorry, but I don't see why people don't GET that large superworms are NOT usable by the buyer, and not what he ordered, and so it's not okay that the seller sent them. If you ordered running shoes and he sent 6 inch heels, and said "Too bad, you can re-buy the running shoes" would you still say "Oh.. okay, at least I got shoes?"?

I think from the end result of the seller making it right, the seller maybe was just having a bad day and thus just blew off his customer that wasn't satisfied by getting the wrong size worms. That to me says he's a good guy, because he made it right, but if he hadn't made it right, I wouldn't think he was a honest seller at all. I definitely wouldn't think it was right for the buyer to just buy more worms from a guy who sent the wrong size.

Just my $0.02, but I've had issues lately finding small mealies and small crickets for my hatchling, so I know how much of a pain it is when you get sent insects too big for your critter to eat.

No vocabulary lesson needed from you Aaron. As I didn't respond to your post that you thought I meant, "alleged, unsubstantiated, or unverified", Please pay attention, as I never intended to use those word's to describe your "imaginary phone conversation", I said it was "conjecture" on your part, and that still stands, sorry If you disagree.

I see now you retracted your statement on calling him a theif on post #74, that's a step in the right direction to repair your reputation on the BOI, since you were "hit" with negative karma for the way you behaved. I'm also glad you apologized to Sam.
Keep it up!

Best,

I think we got the point, even if we made light of it.

What was unacceptable was posting as he did under the title that he did without one shred of evidence to support his claim. He didn't even have a "confirmation" of order to confirm that he actually had ordered the mediums.

With this lack of supporting evidence, it would have been premature to jump on the seller, imo.

The seller sending another batch of worms does not prove guilt,. Perhaps the seller has decided that he does not want to waste time arguing on the BOI over 11.00.:shrug01:

Exactly, I know I wouldn't:thumbsup: By rectifying the situation from the seller, doe's not imply guilt.

Again Randal I think you do need a vocabulary lesson.

con·jec·ture: the formation or expression of an opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/conjecture

It would be correct to say that my labeling him a sort of thief was a conjecture. But that does not apply to relating first person experiences. If I had said why he refused to help, then that would also be a conjecture, as I have no way of knowing or proving what was going on in his head. But saying that he did refuse to help is not. That statement would fall under one of the three words I gave you earlier since it doesn't involve opinion or theory.

Again. Did I misunderstand the rules for posting?

"someone or some business that likely should be avoided. Provide FACTS supporting this opinion. Proof is not needed, but will certainly help support your claim."

My sole purpose here was to relate my experience with Dan White and express my opinion of him as a businessman. I can see people taking what I say with a grain of salt, but I just don't get all this hostility from people who genuinely do not have a dog in this race.

Then it's ok if someone posts about you and calls you "Sort of a liar?"
I mean, you don't have to have proof per se, but coming out so strongly like that implies you have some foundation for your opinion..you had none, imo. And, while you don't need "proof" most of us, (if I may) who are buyers, sellers, breeders, or plan to be..take a dim view of buyers that come and post bad reviews without any supporting evidence.

I believe that all Fauna members have a dog in this race, if you don't know what the dog is, I would suggest that you read the history of the BOI.

(the next person that asks about Karma or whines about Karma hits (OT) in this thread will get hit by me):reddevil:

Aaron you won, you got your new order of worms. If I were you and I was happy with the way I had conducted myself in this thread then I would just let the rest go.

In regards to the seller not admitting guilt by making this right, thats obviously true BUT if it were me I would take 5 minutes to at least make 1 post on here with my side of the story.

It may only be $11 but we all know how many people view the BOI everyday.

Deb, your point is probably the best one on this topic I have read yet. Indeed I would not like it. As I do not consider myself to be "sort of a liar."

I would ask that person what their evidence was, if they didn't have any, I would be less inclined to believe their story. But i don't think I'd be hostile about it. I'd probably say, "well, think about him how you want, but you haven't proved to me that he's a liar."

Something like that. Not. "What? Call a man a liar without documents to back it up? You must be a liar." That's how this whole thing has felt to me. Like I said, I'll be using email from now on.

Aaron,
I think you answered your own question when you said this:

"someone or some business that likely should be avoided. Provide FACTS supporting this opinion. Proof is not needed, but will certainly help support your claim."

However, you have not offered anything to "help support your claim".

Thus, the result of this continuing thread, about your lack of support, i.e., zero proof, only "conjecture".

Best,
Randal Berry

I hope this was a joke

(the next person that asks about Karma or whines about Karma hits (OT) in this thread will get hit by me)

Bill, just so you know, you can only give bad karma if you have coins.

Sorry for the off topic post

Not sure who gave you the bad karma but posting complaints about it in someones BOI thread isn't going to benefit you at all. =/

OT: Bad karma points are basically a "I don't agree with how you posted that" sort of thing. Not a "I disagree with your opinion" but a "you're acting like a jerk" type thing... if I understand it. I've only given a few neg karma, usually when someone really goes off the deep end cursing at people. Usually I just give positive karma and leave the rest alone.

On Topic: Point made about it not saying that the seller is admitting guilt, I did not mean to imply that by making it right, he admitted he sent the wrong worms. I did intend to say that by making the customer happy, I feel he's acting as a good seller should, especailly with his TOS.
