Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I don’t even know where to start, but I will tell you, all this has been a NIGHTMARE. Darren Aguero (going by Charles Morph on facebook) has sent me 7 snakes. One of which has passed away, the other five of which are showing symptoms of being sick, the 7th has not shown any symptoms but still hasn’t taken food even after 1.5 months. I highly suggest to avoid him at all costs. He is quitting the ball python hobby but is starting with hognoses. I will break this down snake by snake.

Here’s the total that I purchased:
2.1 DH Albino/Clown Hatchlings + 1.0 Het Clown Hatchling for $630 Shipped

Later I added on:
Fire Yellowbelly Female 1500g Pre-lay Weight for $500
Pastel Adult Female + Pastel Subadult Female for $250

1. Fire Yellowbelly Female
Problem 1 - Misinformation
I was told she would be shipped after she laid, which I was fine with. I waited almost two months for her. Darren informed me that she didn’t lay but re-absorbed. Her pre-lay weight was 1500g, when I received her she weighed 1000g. When I inquired about the weight difference, the story suddenly changed to “she slugged out”.

Problem 2 – Sick and now dead snake
While doing my inspection on the new arrivals I noticed her making an awkward sound. I found that she had sheety mucus and immediately informed the seller. He re-assured me that he doesn’t do sick snakes and that he will make it right. I told him I wanted to keep her if we can get the symptoms to go away, to which he agreed that we should keep an eye on her and then make a decision. A few days later her condition was still the same and he asked if I wanted to take her to a vet, which I agreed to since there was a holiday coming up. The vet bill was $75 which Darren paid, and the vet examined her and prescribed some Baytril in case her situation got worse. She started bubbling so I started the 14 day treatment of Baytril for her. Her bubbling was gone by the end of the treatment but right after the last dosage she suddenly passed away after choking up yellow-green solid balls of mucus during the night. This is when things went south with the seller. He was only willing to agree on a 50% refund while deducting both vet bills AND shipping costs. Instead of the initial $500 I paid for her, he insisted that her value was only $420, so ($420 - $75) * 50% = $175. Keep in mind that most of the shipping cost was already included in the initial $630 for the hatchlings! When I ask him to honor his bogus partial refund, he suddenly stops responding and is now actively ignoring my messages. He has still been posting on his facebook and the messages are marked as seen. That’s his version of “making it right”.

2. Pastel Adult Female
Problem – Recurring Regurgitation
The pastel adult female regurgitated the day after she arrived. When I informed the seller of it he told me that she ate two days ago, which means he shipped her the day she ate! I’m not a veteran with ball pythons but I find that absolutely unacceptable! We know how stressful shipping is on snakes, you simply do NOT feed them the day you ship them. Considering this, I originally thought that she regurgitated due to excessive stress. I finally managed to get her to take a live rat after a long food strike, three days (10/9) later she regurgitated it up again. This snake is obviously not healthy either.

3. Four Hatchlings
Problem 1 – Mites
The hatchlings are eating fine, thank god. But after 2-3 weeks of acquiring them, I noticed all four of them soaking and infested with mites. The mites were not apparent on their initial inspections, and I do not have any other ball pythons with mites. When I informed Darren of this, he stated that mites are a common thing. I have bought ball pythons from at least 5-8 different breeders, and I haven’t had a single mite until this transaction. Common?

Problem 2 – Bogus Genetics Guarantee
I was told that I would get a guarantee for the hatchlings since they are all visual normal with either het clown or DH albino/clown genetics. The guarantee he sent me ONLY includes a picture of the parents locked. I requested that he add the pictures of the actual hatchlings and since he did not have pictures on file, I took pictures for him and sent it to him. I sent it once through Facebook which he stated he could not use (because he could not figure out how to transfer them to word I think), and the second time I sent it to him through an e-mail which he replied that all my four attachments show the same picture.

4. Pastel Subadult Female
Problem – Not eating
I know ball pythons take time to settle in and start eating and usually I would not be concerned. But considering this snake came from a shipment with one sick snake that died, another that’s regurgitating, and four mite infested hatchlings, I am worried sick that this one has something too.

Stay away from Darren Aguero. I have no idea how he keeps his snakes but the condition they arrived in is utterly unacceptable. When I talked to him I initially thought he was a good guy and I gave him benefit of the doubt, with the sheety mucus, and even after the regurgitation and still even after the mites showed up. But not after his 180 degree turn when things got bad. Apparently it is my fault for not putting a sick snake in more stress by shipping her back immediately, and apparently it is also my fault that I did not order a bacterial culture done by the vet when I kept him informed throughout the entire process and was open to his suggestions. I have requested to return all of the ball pythons because his sick snakes are causing a huge risk towards my existing collection (They are in QT, but there is ALWAYS a risk), to which he did not agree too either. This has been nothing but emotional stress and trauma for me and I write this in hopes that none of you will have to go through this.

I can and will post proof of purchase, conversations. I just need to figure out how to post over 70 screenshot photos (the transaction was done through Facebook), could someone walk me through it please?

Billie - generally a photo source such as photobucket has worked well with me, and you can paste the hyperlink they provide into the comments. Always review posts before submitting, so you can play around with the links if they do not work initially. Feel free to PM if you need further help. I do not have a stake in this, but have been FB friends with Charles Morph, and was actually interested in several of these animals (the funds were not present when the animals were). I hope this is resolved, however possible, for both parties.

I also sent him a link to this thread, so hopefully he will respond with any information that might prove helpful to this situation

Sorry for the three rapid fire posts - I promise to wait for further information before posting further. You mention that you are not a "veteran" with ball pythons - I'm curious how long you waited between the initial regurge and the live rat that she took? I agree that snakes should not be fed right before shipping, and prefer that they wait at least 5 days after a meal to be shipped, but I prefer to err on the side of caution. The reason I ask about when you provided food, was that it is common to wait AT LEAST 2 weeks after a regurge before offering food, and than when you DO offer food, it should be substantially smaller so that their limited stomach acids and already inflamed tract doesn't have to work as hard. Just curious. Thank you

I waited the two weeks, but I did mention that she went on a feeding strike for at least a month. So she had at least a month inbetween her regurgitation until she ate again. I'm no veteran at keeping snakes, but I do my research well when I start a hobby. She also has her hide, and has been undisturbed after she ate the rat.

He was a great guy while selling his animals. He didn't quite keep me updated while waiting for the girls to lay, but I didn't hold that against him. (He did respond after a while whenever I inquired) He was great throughout the entire ordeal and I was as understanding as I could be even when problems kept coming and coming. Which is why his 180 degree turn in attitude REALLY took me by surprise and I was shocked to have been so wrong about a person. No he's never rude, but honestly the rude ones are easy to spot. It's the ones that give you pretty lies and empty promises that are the worst in my opinion.

I forgot to add a fact why I think the genetics guarantee is bogus. He clearly mentioned in the 7th Pre-arrival screenshot that the female that produced het clown girl was the pastel girl pictured, but if you look in his "genetics guarantee" it is described as female pinstripe. I would like to have that cleared up as well.

Here is a link to the photobucket. There are a lot of screenshots, I sorted them into "Pre-arrival of the snakes" and "Post-arrival of the snakes".

No - there is no editing on the BOI.

First let me preface by saying I moved a collection of 250 snakes from May through August Billie's order was the last of the collection. I will address each of her problems individually.

1. Fire Yellowbelly Female
Problem 1 - Misinformation

Reply: The fire Yb was my last gravid female. After her ovulation I could feel eggs but once she did not lay I contacted Billie and informed her that she was reabsorbing and the Fire yb was available to ship. A week later she slugged.

Problem 2 – Sick and now dead snake

Reply: Billie contacted me to tell me she had received the snakes and that the fire yb had fluid out its mouth. we sspoke back and forth and I told her is she didnt want to deal with it I would give her a full refund but she would have to ship the snake back (pic). She stated she wanted to keep it and try to treat. I told her to raise the heat in the snakes cage and watch. We also discussed taking it to the vet and I would pay the bill. At this time she did not have a vet and went to the forums asking members for vets in her area. During this time we communciated regularly with every one of my post reminding her to raise the heat. I also encouraged her to find a vet that does reptiles so as not to waste time and prescribe the right medication. In one of the post I even mentioned that the cost for the visit and culture would be close to $150 (pic0. Which I would pay. She finally located a vet and went to see him. Her reply was the vet did not think it was serious and prescribed Baytril (pic). This was on August 29th. We continued talking as she was sturggling getting the temps high enough and her thermostat was reading 81 degrees. I suggested raising temps to mid 90's and she ordered a heat gun to try and regulate temps. I then received a pm of Sep. 4th advising the snake had gotten worse and she was going to administer the medication (pic). We continued to talk back and forth as I continued to remind her to raise temps to help dry out the snake. She then advised me the snake had died. The next day I offered her a full refund she argued that it was my repsonsibility and she should get a full refund. My position was I had already offered her one and she declined. Had she shipped me back the snake as offered she would have allowed me the chance to treat the snake but since she did not I would still refund half. At the time I thought this was more than fair.

***The next day while looking at the post I realized several things which made me change my position on the refund.
First she ignored the advice to run a culture even though I offered to pay. Next she never got the temps to a position which would allow the snake to thrive (81 is low even for a healthy bp), and last she received the medication which I paid for on Aug 29th and didnt administer the first dose until Sep. 4th.

Now i consider myself a fair person but In this whole process she was offered a full refund and declined, she was then directed to go to a vet and have a culture at my exspense which she did not, she was instructed to raise heat and did not, she was offered a partial refund and refused, and lastly she had medication which I paid for and she didnt administer for a week after she got them.

Problem – Recurring Regurgitation
During one of our pm I suggested she also take the pastel to the vet with the other to my knowledge she never did. (Ill post pics in next post)

Problem 1 – Mites
Yes she did inform me several weeks after the fact that the hatchlings were surrmersing themselves and had mites. At the time her pm stated "she did not know where the snakes got the mites from" she discussed treating them and we discussed what to use. (Ill post pics in next post)

Tough one but not having the heat right will cause problems especially for a sick snake, it will also cause snakes to regurg if temps aren't high enough.

Inexperience

this sounds like an inexperienced snake owner by not following the simple husbandry rules.

Any reputable reptile vet will not just give out antibiotics without doing a culture to determine what will destroy the RI.

Although if the snake was sick to the point of visible mucous, you must wonder why it took her so long to administer medication.

81 degrees as a hot spot is WAY TOO COLD and is what your "cool" spot should be. Having temperatures that cool would not be helping a snake at all.

Also, maybe the low temps could be why the other animal regurged?
