Well Moe, I do, and that's why your post was edited. As I stated, that was a one-time freebie. Under normal circumstances, I would have simply deleted your entire reply.

Also, I will not tolerate physical threats against anyone, veiled or otherwise. If it can even be vaguely construed as a physical threat, I'll deal with it as such. This goes for everyone.

Your snakes and your business ethics speak for themselves! Personally...you KNOW I respect a man who can tell it like it is, regardless of what anybody thinks! And, no matter how he says it!
I've done a couple of things with Moe already....his ethics, morals, quality of snakes, business sense, friendship and knowledge are things that would be envious to anyone!
It makes no difference who owns the snakes! And Ben...I also think it is no business of yours! As long as Dave and Moe had a mutual agreement to sell them.... what's the big deal? Two dealers selling multiples of the same snake (it's not like there was only one&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> is just good business sense... it just adds exposure, and makes them easier to sell... you're just trying to make a mountain out of a molehill... as long as the price was right, and the snakes weren't misrepresented (as far as health and cb, etc go)... just buy the snake and stop being so anal! You act like it's the end of the world... newsflash! It isn't!
The animals that Moe is in the process of breeding right now, would make most of us drool! He is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future...you can make book on it!
OK...enough of my rambling.... Moe is a great guy with great animals! It's just not right trying to make a bad guy post out of something so trivial!

I for one would like to know if the person I am buying it from has the snakes with him or not.  Upfront I would like to know who has what snakes.  Why is it important to me?......

if one of the reputable dealers/breeders were selling a snake for Jesse Underhill, I would like to know.....that way I can avoid buying that snake.

If one of the breeder/dealer were selling a snake for someone who is known to have IBD in their collection...I would like to know...That way I can avoid the snake.

If one of the Breeder/dealer is selling a snake for someone who is in major lack of husbandry skills I would like to know.

If one of the breeder/dealer is selling a snake for someone whose collection runs rampant with diseases.... I would like to know

Well, sorry, but...that was NOT business....that was personal! There's a BIG difference!

I didn't realize there was only one snake... but, it makes no difference if TEN people were trying to sell it...
When I was helping Lyman sell his large burms... don't you think he was on the phone trying to sell the same snakes?? Of course he was! If one of us sold it, the other would not! Real easy!
And as far as knowing the snake history and origin from birth?? Fagetaboutit! If you don't know the animal, know the dealer! I would never give out my sources, other than saying it's a top breeder, etc...would Macy's tell Gimbel's? Heck NO!
You either know (and respect) the dealer and like what the dealer tells you about the snake, or you don't... you either like the looks of the animal when it arrives...or you send it back for a refund! Everything else is hogwash! .... Neil
 
Actually, I'm with Ritchie on this.  There are a number of people who I do not wish to purchase animals from - the list grows longer every time I read this forum some days.  It IS my business if the snake is being sold for someone else because that person MAY NOT be reputable in my book and not someone I would want an animal from.  I'm just a small time hobbyist (13 snakes total) and tinkering with breeding because it's a pleasure to do so.  Every animal that comes into my collection is a pet first, then a potential breeder second.  If Joe Blow is actually selling John Doe's animals and John Doe has husbandry, parasite or disease issues, I don't want that animal in my collection.  Enough said.

Well Diane...Here's where the problem lies...
That was my point when I said that you have to KNOW the dealer (by reputation, at least&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>... there are NO "reputable" dealers, that I know of, that would even THINK about selling animals that belong to someone else if they knew that person has husbandry problems....that would be insane on the dealers part!
The problem is that if you see a snake for sale by Joe Blow for "real cheap money"....KNOWING that there are tons of reputable dealers out there who sell the same thing for maybe a little more money than Joe Blow... you'll probably buy it because the price was right! Well, you get what you pay for! If a dealer (or weekend worrior) doesn't have a "good background" or a "good reputation"....what will be your recourse when something goes wrong? At least with a reputable dealer... they will be there! (for the most part).... Neil
 
I think knowing the history and genetics of the animal is important, because now people are trying so hard to refine the desirable traits and inbreeding is more of a problem.

 Anytime you post responses to the different threads here, you should leave your emotions out of it. Seems like when people get very angry and post a reply, they end up looking kinda foolish.

As you say... with most people trying to "refine the desirable traits" of their animals... would you buy something like that from someone who wasn't the ACTUAL BREEDER?? I would hope not!
The actual breeder is the ONLY ONE who would be willing to give you it's life history... because it's in HIS best interest!
Would you rather buy a dh snow boa from Joe Blow for $200, or would you spend the $400 and get a dh snow boa from Lemuel Griffin? Your answer to that question will say a lot.... Neil
 
Well, I still have a problem with the albino Burm that Ben Sparks brought up. Whether Moe or Dave sold the animal matters very much to me because I was never fully PAID for it. If Moe or Dave profited from the sale then $50 of the proceeds came at my expense. Funny I don't see any dispute about that fact here either from Dave. It's not the amount of money involved it's the princilple that makes a statement about one's business ethics. All I can say is what goes around comes around pal.
 
I would give Joe Blow a chance...we all have to start somewhere.....but if and only if he can prove its genetics to me and tell me its history.
If he can't
Then I go straight to the breeder.

I like to know if you HAVE the snake with you.
if it is cb, LTC, wc etc etc
if it is LTC or WC I would like to know how long it has been in the country.
I would like to know how long it has been in your possesion.
how does it eat?
what does it eat?
if it is a morph....ie albino....was it from albino to albino breeding?  or was it albino to het or het to het.  (Yes this can  be important.)
If you are the breeder...were the parents siblings?
the pair I am getting are they siblings?

Dealer questions.
how much
how does it look like
is it outwardly healthy
will it survive long enough for me to sell it.

NOTE:  This is probably not how all dealers think.  But this is the impression I just got by reading Neil's responses....my opinion only


You know when your friend robs a bank...and you drive the getaway car..... whether you knew your friend robbed the bank or not...you are still an accessory to the robbery.

If you sell a snake that is not paid for....whether it is really yours or not...Whether you knew it was paid for or not...
Bottom Line.  You sold a snake that is not fully paid for...PERIOD.  What does that make you?

Hi guys,

I thought about all of what I needed to point out when I got
back on here today;however, Ritchie covered every point and a few more I think (thanks Ritchie).

It comes down to one word for me basically: Misrepresentation
The burms may have been healthy, pretty etc... but Moe was representing them as being Moes, when in fact they werent.
When I asked Moe if they were his or Daves he admitted -No, they are in fact Daves. Would he had told me they were Daves if I had not asked, no.

I'm glad others see my point here on this.

Neil, this is nothing personal here. My problem is with Moes apparent business practice he in this instance. When he blew
a vain in his first post, it looks like he was trying to make it personal but its not. It was my first inquiry with him about a
snake , and needless to say the last. His total lack of self control in reguards to his temper does make it sound he is taking it personal but I assure you and Moe its not.  I think
the points of been made and I dont see the need to repost
in order to reiterate what has already been said. If ya get it you get it, if ya dont ya dont.

Call em as ya seen em as best ya can, and let the chips fall where they may, consequences are unimportant as long as the
truth is told. (Dont remember who told me that, but I like it)

You know Ben,you sure play the game,you werent speaking like this to me when all this first happened..I even kept your letter thread for several months incase you tried to pull this crap,which Dave warned me you would..But ofcourse I deleted it last month,since I thought surely its over....but I should have listened to Dave..Those PAIR of  albino burms were in my house for atleast 2 months I guess,then they went back to Dave as I couldnt sell them and he had more room than I did at the time..So it was automatic that I said I had them for X amount of time when you asked how long have you had them..You based your whole reasoning on this sentence: (How long have you had them) I told you how long they had been had,,but you focused on the word YOU..flipped out over that crap...Its very anal Ben ..When 2 people are partners on animals and you ask them,, either one of them,how long have you had this animal,they should both tell you the same thing no matter who's house their in..Because they are partners and its the truth..Thats how I see it..And just for the record,I'm not going to sell stuff thats from a screwed up breeder or slacker..There are alot of rumors,lies,and deceit in this business and I did pride myself on a perfect record of 100% customer satifaction with no strikes against me on any board..And it doesnt seem to exist much in this buisiness,so yes I'm angry.your not even a customer and making trouble for me over a single word which I believe is justified.I think I sold 50 to 60 snakes for Dave in a 3 to 4 month period,why because he couldnt do any business off this classified or any other for some reason and I have a Kingsnake account and we are freinds and partners on certain things..I work for him, he works for me,whats mine is yours,thats where we stand..So what ever,I'm not a lier,not dishonest and not even close to this picture you try and paint of me so casually and softly spoken...What true man wouldnt be offended,think about it...petty petty,crap Ben.....thanks alot,what are you a unhappy man,lacking in areas maybe,I'm sorry man if you cant be content...And whats all this God bless stuff,that was never on the E-mails you sent to me..?? You are right in that this all stems from the word "You". I take that word pretty seriously. If you had originally came back and said you and Dave were partners I would have been fine with that. But you said they belonged to Dave, after I asked.
Not that you were partners, but that Dave owned them.

Petty? I know you and some others think owner representation
may be petty, however; I do not.

Lacking in areas? Man, I dont think I'v heard that since highschool. No Moe, nothing lacking what-so-ever.
I have God, Jesus , a great family, friends, and more love than
I could possibly deserve!!

Thanks Moe. I only posted this information when Dave did not respond to three letters I sent him about it. This was unusual for him because we always had a good relationship so maybe his computer is at fault. If you read my posts I usually only have good things to say about everyone and I'd like nothing more than to get this behind us as it should be.
 
For what it's worth...............I told this guy EXACTLY what was wrong with this boa and how he looked. The boa otherwise is in good health and VERY capable of breeding! Also, me and Greg Riso had a misunderstand,which is all taken care of now.I've ALWAYS sold quality animals in good health.
