Hello all!
Another Daytona Expo has come and gone and we had a blast! Chris and I drove Saturday morning to Daytona Beach and arrived at about 11. Charles at Masterpiece Geckos was the first gecko table I stopped at. He had some awesome hybinos and knobtails. Alberto and Mary were there as a part of Rare Geckos and had some great looking albinos and tangs, as well as all sorts of other gecko species including a killer albino knobtail that refused to come out of hiding for us until the very last hour of the expo. Albey had some amazing carrottails with nearly fully orange tails! Tremper displayed some of his new APTORS and RAPTORS, and it was very cool to see the new eye traits. Mack had snows and supers of course, and again, it was neat seeing the eyes. HQ Reptiles had some extremely nice juveniles as well as some equally impressive older geckos, 3 of which I decided I needed to take home.
In addition to all the beautiful geckos, I loved being able to see the progretion of the morphs in many other species. Ralph Davis had the very first albino piebald on display which was just breathtaking. Tom Burke's lipstick sunglows are some of the coolest boas I've seen. BHB showed an albino savanah monitor with a beautiful orange hue. Bob Clark's table always makes me contemplate owning retics. These are just a few examples of the many unique and amazing animals at the expo.
I also had the pleasure of meeting many of our fellow board members! Marcia of Golden Gate, Sam of Gecko Den, and Steve and Debra of Geckos Etc. (congrats guys!) I am sorry I was unable to meet Kelli, but we were all thnking about her and hoping she is doing alright. Marcia, sorry we missed you for Sat night, but we did end up eventually finding a hotel. Scary, but functional. LOL!
We went to a great seafood place with Matt and Susan at HQ and Dan and Roxanne Lubinsky. We all had a blast and Chris and I were happy to get to know you better. Dan and Roxanne, thank you for dinner! We really enjoyed ourselves.
So, that's my summary of our mini vacation. We got to enjoy the beach a little bit on Saturday night. I miss it already! Here are some pics of the new kids who came home with me Sunday night. Two red stripes, and a red stripe cross poss het albino. Hope you like! Anyone else have Daytona stories to share, or animals to show off? Please post! Take care everyone!
