Opinions on this email please.....
Has anyone dealt with DCL?
I inquired about purchasing 200 - 10" x 20" liners and 100 - 30" x 12" paper tank liners.
When I got the total it included $14.20 for GROUND shipping from MD to PA via DHL. I thought this seemed a little high for a small order so I inquired with Mr. Lamb of DCL.
This is the response I got, not sure how to feel about it, seemed a bit defensive and unfriendly, what do others think?:

This order would ship in two boxes. Had I shipped in
one larger oversized box it would have been a flat
30lb. charge and been higher. I'm not sure if you do
much shipping but all the ground carriers impose
pickup fees. Fed Ex. and UPS charge weekly fees and
DHL charges per package pickup fees.
With the price of gas near $2.00 a
gallon no one picksup for free. So those costs are
incorporated into the shipping costs. The only other
option would be to drive to the post office to avoid
pickup fees. Something I'm not interested in doing at
this time. Profits on the precut liners are small when
considering the extra time involved in machine cutting
them. As much as I value my customer's business I'm
not about to pay for the shipping charges to make them
happy. Thanks for your interest!
If you are in business of selling something inexpensive and disposable wouldn't you want to use the most economical shipping method to encourage people to buy? Granted it is his business and he can run it any way he wishes.....
