In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Opinions on this email please.....

Has anyone dealt with DCL?
I inquired about purchasing 200 - 10" x 20" liners and 100 - 30" x 12" paper tank liners.

When I got the total it included $14.20 for GROUND shipping from MD to PA via DHL. I thought this seemed a little high for a small order so I inquired with Mr. Lamb of DCL.

This is the response I got, not sure how to feel about it, seemed a bit defensive and unfriendly, what do others think?:

This order would ship in two boxes. Had I shipped in
one larger oversized box it would have been a flat
30lb. charge and been higher. I'm not sure if you do
much shipping but all the ground carriers impose
pickup fees. Fed Ex. and UPS charge weekly fees and
DHL charges per package pickup fees.
With the price of gas near $2.00 a
gallon no one picksup for free. So those costs are
incorporated into the shipping costs. The only other
option would be to drive to the post office to avoid
pickup fees. Something I'm not interested in doing at
this time. Profits on the precut liners are small when
considering the extra time involved in machine cutting
them. As much as I value my customer's business I'm
not about to pay for the shipping charges to make them
happy. Thanks for your interest!

If you are in business of selling something inexpensive and disposable wouldn't you want to use the most economical shipping method to encourage people to buy? Granted it is his business and he can run it any way he wishes.....

I have purchased from them before and while I agree the shipping charges are high, they ship good product. The liners are large and expensive. I don't think the USPS would be a savings.

He is right about is costing you more if he had combined it into one oversized box. All of the carriers will start charging you dimensional weight after a certain size box no matter if it weighs less. The prices go up significantly higher when you hit dimensional weight tariffs.

When you subtract the $2.00 pick up fee you are left with $12.20 for the shipping charge. That is only $6.10 per box. Thats sounds just about right for ground shipping. And the USPS is NOT economical for shipping anything with any weight by priority mail and their parcel post takes way, way too long to get anywhere.

I'm sure the carriers do charge for pick up, but I just thought the attitude that he can't be bothered taking his stuff to the post office (or other shipper) was kind of counter productive.

I.E. the customer should pay a premium for shipping because it inconviences him to make a trip.

I mean unless he lives in a very remote area one trip a week to send out your orders does not seem like too much of a hardship.

Just my opinion, I'll guess i'll just keep using paper towels to line the cages! For the price of 300 liners shipped I can buy 150 rolls of paper towels.....

I use them and they are a great product. As for shipping, I don't think he is making anything on the shipping charges (just a guess). They are an awesome product, and worth the cost IMHO.
