    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If someone hates people, then why enter into the business of selling items/animals that REQUIRE dealing with people? lol Unless he is a masochist (or a troll), its pointless.
 
He's a herpetologist that specializes in Horny Lizards, Im sure he appreciates working with zoo's, animal rescues and other Herpetologist's, but probably has little patience with herp enthusiests who buy or catch Horny Lizards to keep as pets despite the fact that its a death sentence for the animal. That has to be outrageously frustrating.
 
I don't know many "herpetologists" that go dumpster diving for Iguanas, lol.

I also don't know many "herpetologists" that run reptile rescues......ironically, its usually the "enthusiasts" who end up doing that sort of thing.

Sounds like Mick, or Mike, or whatever his real name is, wants the accolades and recognition of an academic persona, yet wants to dumpster dive for bargains and be a jerk to people who only want to feed their animals.

You certainly do seem to be exhibiting quite a bit of confusion. There are two alleged and separate iguna incidents, stemming from that particular Petco. Do try to keep up.
 
He has very poor business practices and social skills. He's practicing veterinary medicine and surgeries on animals without a license. He isn't a non-profit. I honestly think his claim to sell ants is just a poor attempt to try to get people to stop keeping horny toads as pets, meanwhile he keeps plenty of them. I wonder if the state knows he keeps a protected species? Is he a licensed rehabilitator? I sincerely doubt it. He simply likes to feel superior to anyone he comes in contact with, and play the sympathy card to get more free money for his hobby and mutilations he performs on animals.

I actually checked into his status of being a rehabber and outstanding member of of the Horned Lizard Conservation Society.

Neither was true when I looked into it a couple years ago.
 
Oh Okay, I havent been keeping up have I. People think he lied about the Iguana dying and then placed it in the dumpster...

Im more inclined to believe that Petco threw away an Iguana.
 
From one comment I read on the news article, someone seemed to know his practices and stated that he'd taken the first iguana home and tried to make a makeshift breathing apparatus with some canned oxygen? Apparently it was still alive at the time, so who's to say that he didn't kill the poor thing with his horrid veterinary practices?

Breathing apparatus? And he just sounds pretty compulsive and angry from what I have seen so far. I don't think petco would have any reason to throw away a live animal. But that mick guy would so he could get attention for himself and.his rescue.

A good description. His emails to me were full of insults and cussing. I believe he actually delights in such behavior, he told me if I wanted, that I could post one of them which actually seemed written for publication and to get around his ban.
However, I decline to circulate his clownish bids for attention and I certainly am not going to circumvent his ban here by posting what he wants posted.

I believe he is feeling some heat from this failed attempt to discredit Petco, because he is begging people to send positive testimonials of him on his Facebook page.

Ah, karma coming back to bite him in the rear. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. I'm pretty sure the negative attention is not what he was aiming for when he made that video. :D

My main interest is in Savannah Monitors, and after countless hours on the web dealing with people who want pet dinosaurs and keep them in fish tanks with screen tops, over half a million DEAD (CITES documents every imported specimen) my patience wears thin at times too.

I have spoken with Mick quite a bit, and he is always pleasant with me.

Well I am personal friend of Dr. Richard Montanucci and made him aware his name was being dropped by this obviously unstable person. He said he has never heard of Mike Comella or Mick Palermo and has certainly never offered to review anything for this person. Just to set the record straight.

First time post here at FC... Mostly a lurker...

Anyways, I was reading through this thread today and realized something when the connection was made between this Mick and the Petco iguana incident. Here is the response he sent me via his youtube channel when I inquired about how he just so happened to have a camera handy and why he decided to make a big long video about it instead of getting it to safety and getting it care instead of making some big propaganda over it. Here is the response I got from him. (Notice the date)
