Since I am the originator of this thread, I guess it is appropriate for me to comment on this.

Everyone admits that sometimes there is a "headhunting" mentality here. I do not condone trying to sell sick animals. However, no one can argue that she is "misleading" anyone here, at least not anymore than anyone else.

If this post gets me flack, so be it, I am definately not in the tosha fan club, but I really am not in anyone's fan club.

I have been in the reptile trade both retail/wholesale as well as in a zoo for around 9 years. I am only 27 though. I know that the large portion of the first 2/3rds of my career I listened. I did not post online that much, I did not walk into the show and act like I was a professional because I didn't feel that I could hang with the "big boys." I think that this may be where tosha differs from me.

I have absolutely no clue how much she knows about this industry, nor do I really care. It is a buyer beware market, and if someone buys this animal and it dies on them after 6 months of not eating properly, then I have no compassion for that person. There is no way whatsoever that that ad could mislead someone into thinking that the animal perfect in every way.

I have sent out some import animals with scars before, even a baby ball one time that shouldn't have gone out. It was an oversite on my part. I didn't represent the animal right and I promptly refunded the money.
I would certainly hope that the winning bidder does not try any of this.

Tom - You bring up a good point ---

that I hadnt thought of - I really hadn't thought someone would try to turn around and sell this animal as healthy. I was hoping by stating the obvious that this animals health was in question that it would scare off those that would just want to make a quick buck off of her, somehow I had missed the possiblity of exploitation.

Almost all of Tosha's problems are of a personal, or should I say characterological, nature. She has been exposed as a liar and as someone not very experienced despite her claims to the contrary. She has admittedly tried to scam a scammer, using her credit card's "purchase protection" when she knew she would not get what she wanted. That, by the way is fraudulent use of that service, a felony, and if she is caught she may go to prison for it. She may think she is out no money but we are all out. Her claim that she was simply trying to smoke out a scammer was a lie. She was using her credit card company's funds to do that, without involving them in the decision. Even if it weren't fraud, it is morally reprehensible.

None of this takes away from the good transactions that she has had. But, simply put, she is dishonest and dishonorable in my opinion.

Further, this story about having no room for a sick animal smells a bit like tuna to me. She should spring for a vet visit and a fecal and know what she is selling. If it is coccidia and she sells the animal, then she can well be responsible for destroying another person's collection. Yes, it is true that any buyer should know how to quarantine, and in a perfect world everyone would. But we know the world is less than perfect. If you sell a sick animal then you should know what the illness is. Again, JMHO.

I've talked to her alot on another, much more valuable forum. I haven't read all this crap. I don't need to. I'm sure it's the same as usual. A genuinely good person who doesn't quite meet the standards of the Fauna elite, getting bullied. Shut up and leave her alone. Since there are like 3 people that think it's their job to trash every name to ever be posted on this board for ANY reason they can create, I think I'm gonna start taking on the job of telling them to to SHUT UP. The real villains in this thing are exposed and go away quickly because they have no real love for these animals. The majority of us, including Tosha, do. We all do this to LEARN about and experience these animals. Not to get unnecessarily black listed by a couple of idiots who think they're special. It's so unfortunate that because the angle you few come from, makes some outsiders who aren't fully aware of the politics on here, believe you. You are (the few of you, and you know who you are) a disease. Anyway, LEAVE TOSHA ALONE. And 95% of the other innocent victims. Get a new hobby because many of US don't need you in this one.

Yes Tosha, and you have removed all doubt, no haven't you. You ought to read the fine print in your user agreement. And then read what you wrote here. If it isn't a crime, then tell me which credit company indemnified you and I will present the facts to them. We'll see if they choose to go after you. Knowingly participating in a fraud and then filing what in essence was an insurance claim can be construed as being in cahoots with the fraud. And you have stated that you knew she was a fraud. Consult your attorney and s/he will confirm.
