In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dealings with Tosha Mclintock

As for me, it doesn't matter what is said about me, I neither benefit nor does it bother me. I like so many others have decided to be done with the BOI. But since a couple of us were chuckling over this thread, I thought I'd post my 2 cents. Thats all !

I wonder why you even bothered to say anything here on this thread. You yourself say that you don't benefit from anything posted here. I thought you were done with the BOI? As you yourself said weeks ago...............

Mike,

The BOI is like an addiction! Some of us are not so strong to be able to live without it. In the past some people have tried to stay away from it, but when they were almost over it a friend gave them the stuff and dragged them back in. Adam Block and Kenneth Yates, what a strong will power! They never succumbed to the temptation of coming back! ;)

Regards.

Wes asks a very good question. I too am very curious as to your answer. Any thoughts?

Still waiting for an answer tasha.

Of course, since I SAW your name at the bottom of the thread LISTING you as one of those READING the thread, I am fairly certain that you were indeed reading it yourself.

Of course I suppose it could have been someone who was considering baiting(?) those of us who read and right and "get something out of" the BOI and NOT you yourself, but I, just me, think NOT.

You know tasha, NOT every liar is caught here every time they lie, BUT the dumb ones almost always are. Do you wonder that you almost, if NOT always, are?

Thanks Tom and the rest for the good transactions and thank you for the positive feedback you can be sure that I will continue to support and recommend those that I have had positive dealings with, even if it has to be off the BOI. As I told Tom in my email to him yesterday, I apologise if your support of me has caused you any greif, there are some people that just don't get it. If I have not openly praised some people that I have done dealings with it is because when I do they get ripped for having done business with me. Therefore, I will not be responding to anything outside of those who have actually done business with me, and have information, good or bad about our transactions. I do not play those kinds of game.

When does the pity party start?

You don't play those games because when you tried you got your butt handed to you regularly.

I'm all for you being a good buyer, we ALL need good buyers.

However, the rest of your business acumen and "style" leaves much to be desired.

I believe I mentioned in the thread about you in Hell that you MAY be changing into a good guy BUT with posts like the above I really feel tha MAY may have been to strong a word to use.

Good luck and I actually hope you make it. I won't be holding my breathe in anticipation of you doing so though.

Remember, some of us already know the answer.

Lies are not a good thing to CONTINUALLY try to get away with here.

Some of us would also like an answer to my question too. Or do you plan on ignoring it, hoping it will just go away? This question is veritably seedlike in its nature. YOU can either nip it now, whilst small and relatively harmless OR let it grow into the Mighty Oak it has the potential to become.

Are ya a lumberjack as well as expert ballpython breeder tasha?

I suspect you ain't which leads DIRECTLY to the question, "are ya smart enough to nip this in the bud, as it were, or are ya not?"

Back at it????

Ok, I hated to drag up this old thread....but I saw something on Reptibid this morning that REALLY upset me. Tosha is now auctioning off a snake that she's had for 3 weeks.....is regurging all of its food, and has diarreah....and is more than willing to ship it in this condition.....all because she's "remodeling and losing her quarantine area"!! It just makes me ill. I'm sure we should pat her on the back for being so darn "honest" about the snake's health....yeah, right. And what tops it off.....there are BIDS on it.

I'll give ya the link and let you decide for yourselves.....but I just don't think it's right at all. :hot:

Yeah, I believe it. Uh huh. 20 years experience and can't or won't manage a sick animal. Maybe the bidders are inclined to save the poor snake from Tosha.

Tosha, here is your sign :toiletcla

Wear it with pride.

Somehow this broad doesn't suprise me.
20 yrs exp and can't/won't treat a sick snake, yet on kingsnake ball python forums she's the "resident" know it all to everyone's problems. What a joke.

It's too bad it got sick....if it didn't "look sick", 3 weeks would be PLENTY long in quarantine. ANYONE who's been raising ball pythons as long as Tosha knows that.

PFTHT.

Stupidity makes me angry.....especially when an animal has to suffer for it.

Not knowing Tosha and her history, this comment only goes to the above referenced auction. I would rather see her (or anyone) be forthright in disclosing potential problems with an animal rather than just selling it and never mentioning severe issues like this.

If the question goes to her ability or devotion to the well being of animals, that's a different subject but let's not knock her for being honest on the current health and her inability (through lack of knowledge, patience, time or whatever the case may be) to improve the condition of this particular animal. Better she sell it to someone who can give it a fighting chance to survive (at 1400g it must have been doing well at one point) than let it perish.

Uh, no offense meant here, but I'm thinking maybe you should acquaint yourself with Tosha before you defend anything she does, lol. Sure, it was just peachy of her to supposedly be honest about this snake.....but to be willing to ship an obviously already ill snake? I'll agree it would probably be better in in someone else's hands, but shipping is the LAST thing that snake needs right now.

Oh the hypocrisy

I can't even count the many times I've seen you people tell others that receive sick or less than healthy snakes to ship it back to the seller. Now you are jumping on my case?! This snake may not even be sick.

I would never ship the snake if the vet thought it would be an issue - I have been on the phone with him several times regarding this snake and he does not as long as she is well hydrated before and shipped on an empty stomach. She is very active and alert and has a good weight to her. As the previous owner also kept WC's it's most likely she contracted internal parasites - nothing too sever or life threatening at this point.

I would be more than happy to keep her myself - but I'm having the back of my house torn down and extended which includes the room I use for quarantine. She would have to spend the next 4 months quarantined in the garage, but I don't find the garage very humane.

I also have contact some people locally to see if they can take her which would be ideal, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure I had a place for her to go when they start tearing down the walls.

Maybe you are right I'm a horrible person I should have just sold her as a normal healthy snake and let someone else deal with it - just like everyone else does!

tasha, I don't know so much about horrible BUT I do know that you are not what you want people to think you are.

It's GREAT that you were up front about this snake BUT knowing the SCRUTINY you are under HOW could you be otherwise?

You are NOT stupid, dishonest, foolish, a tad pathetic, untrustworthy, yes to all of those but I really don't think you're stupid.

You KNOW that there are a few folks here who watch the ball python ads wherever they pop up and that YOU are on the radar all the time. What choice, really, did you have OTHER than to disclose all the facts about this snake?

I suspect that deep down you truly wish for the respect you pretend you have. You simply seem incapable of earning it. It's a pisspoor excuse that your house is being remodeled. Did this remodel come out of the blue? Was it unexpected that the workmen showed up, just magically appeared and started to demo your back room?

Perhaps this is a snake you should NOT have taken on. Eh, you make your bed then you get to LIE, figuratively as well as literally, in it.

You just don't seem to make good decisions and then when you get brought to public attention, surprise surprise there, you start the "justification dance" and girl, you ain't got no rhythm.

I'll be glad when this season is over and you fade into the background for a bit. I think some time to "season" as it were, will help you not only in regards to your reputation, which, to those who ACTUALLY know you, SUCKS, but will also give you time to come at balls, should you choose to keep working with them, from a different angle. I would recommend an angle that does NOT involve "outing" the bad guys, selling hets that are most likely imported normals and taking on more than you can handle.

Good luck, you need it.

Tosha, maybe everyone else knows the circumstances surrounding your acquisition of this snake, but I would just like to ask what the situation was that prompted you to take in this animal 3 weeks ago knowing you were starting a remodeling project. Were you unaware that the animal would need to be quarantined for a longer period of time?

I was once given a ball python by a friend who could not get it to eat. Thinking it was a stubborn import, I attempted to get it feeding with every trick I knew. I was unsuccessful. In a desperate attempt, I contacted another Fauna member who has a wonderful reputation with non-feeding animals and asked his assistance. After we spoke, he suggested that I send him the animal and he would see what he could do. I shipped that malnourished snake to him as a last resort. Sadly, even though the animal survived the transport and another several weeks, it was unable to be saved. Many of the same statements made here could apply to me in that situation, but I did what I thought was the best for the animal.

Maybe

Honestly - I knew I would probably be torn apart for trying to find this snake a home. I had a feeling it would happen - but I had to do it - I don't have any place to properly house her without possibly exposing my other snakes to her, that is a chance I'm not willing to take. I'm really hoping I can get her a home locally - but I needed a backup plan.

No - this remodel did not come out of the blue - our permits came thru a little earlier than expected and by now or at least by next week, if she had not vomitted she would have been moved into my snake room and this wouldn't have been an issue.

And I'm not sure why you think I'm selling imports as possible hets??? I haven't ever. If this is in reference the the Harrison hets I bought I still have them all and if/when I sell them they will be sold as normals - nothing more. I've never misrepresented a snake nor will I.

As for me fading out maybe I will maybe I won't. So far I have not heard on single complaint from anyone that has actually done business with me either bought or sold. And if there was ever any problems you can bet I would bend over backwards to make things work out - that is the kind of person I am. You can beleive that or not - time will tell.

Yes they could apply, but you explored every option you had and then fell back on your last resort. Nothing wrong with that. What Tosha is doing is down right stupid.

We have all seen it many times. The moment someone gets a sick animal they run and list it on ReptileAuction.com.

I hope to god Tosha does not have young children. If so I pray they NEVER get sick......................

Wow. All this time I thought KS had nowhere to go but up.........my mistake.

As the previous owner also kept WC's it's most likely she contracted internal parasites - nothing too sever or life threatening at this point.

In my opinion you obviously did the right thing by stating up-front the illness. The problem with all this though is that it hasn’t been diagnosed yet. Yes, it might be internal parasites, but if it happens to be crypto you might be held accountable for infecting or even wiping out someone else’s collection. You work under the assumption that the person who receives the animal knows proper quarantine procedures. From experience on this site we know there countless individuals who would not follow them up. Not everyone is really aware of the time and effort it takes to take care of such an animal. Not everyone has balanced the risk to other animal(s) they currently possess. It’s not just having a second room, but a constant mindset where you have to be always alert and conscientious about the chance of being yourself the one that actually transmits the problem to the rest. In short, yes you disclosed the condition. The problem is that you are just going but what the vet is telling you, and at this time it’s not much.
