this is a warning about dbeando, he has a couple geckos up for sale at the moment, i have purchased vegan cupcake for 550 through paypay, i sent him a message and i asked him if i could pay half now and the other half later, he said it was fine, so i sent him half and he responding saying ''i thought you were going to send the whole amount but that is ok, ill ship her at the end of the month after you pay the rest'', thought that was a little fishy right there and should have stopped just because he said a downpayment was fine but then he thought i was going to pay the whole thing, so i paid the rest anyways, and ever since then i never heard back from him, i messaged him multiple times and not one answer back, well i posted a message about getting Vegan Cupcake and i got a message from a forum member that she has also paid for Vegan Cupcake from Derek.Derek has a couple geckos up for sale at the moment and just to be warned that he will probably get you to pay for the gecko and then you will never hear from him again.

buy at your own risk but chances are you arent going to get your gecko.

Can you post some communications and/or proof that you've purchased the gecko from Derek?

Agreed with Will, it would be great to see corroboration from the other party involved.

You said you have contacted him via messages - not sure if you mean forum messages, e-mails, texts...? dbeando lists his phone # in many of his ads here if you don't have it and need to see if he will respond more quickly that way.

I am the other person that bought vegan cupcake. i paid in full by 10pm the day he put up the ad. can someone please tell me how to get pics of the screen like that? alot of my communication with him was over text but il take pics of those and put them on in a bit and try to get any emails i have up.

ive been talking to him about this issue and recently put my partner in charge of talking to him. im having issues with my pregnancy and this ordeal is putting my blood pressure through the roof. lol.

supposedly it was a misunderstanding and only i have paid for the gecko...which is obviously a lie. He says he needs me to cancel my claim on paypal so he has the shipping money to send her and my other geckos on tuesday.

im trying to contact him though text, i sent an email this morning and a text about 10 minutes ago, but no contact really since i paid, i paid on the 16th and 19th i think.

um i know on my tablet its just a button but on a computer i think you press the 'Fn' plus the insert key, then copy and paste it into paint shop or something.. i belive, correct me if im wrong.

I would STRONGLY advise against canceling a claim on Paypal. Once closed it cannot be reopened, and if the other party does not carry through, you cannot look to Paypal.
While it is true that once you put in a claim his funds are frozen (at least the funds for the transaction) he has many critters for sale and I doubt his pockets are otherwise empty. If you cancel the claim and he does not ship, your misery is just beginning.

This was the message and this was sent Friday March, 16 shortly before I saw on facebook that Red Sky Geckos had bought her. That's why I didn't send any money to him.

I also had a bad dealing with Derek, and I apologize for not posting it earlier. Because I did get my gecko, I had wanted to refrain from starting a BOI, but it was not an easy process and I almost didn't get him. All of our conversation was through text, so I can take pictures of it all but it'll take me awhile.

I put a down payment on a gecko "creme frenche", since my hometown is only 40 minutes from Derek and I said I could pick him up and pay the rest in cash. However, I lived in VT at the time, but was going home in about 2 weeks after the down payment. In that two weeks time, he asked me twice for more money, first because he needed a part for his car, and then for a plane ticket to his grandmothers funeral. Both were red flags, but because I had planned on picking him up and knew that I could file a paypal claim if need be, I paid it all for a total of $270 to help him out if he was really telling the truth. I'll also add that in this time, he texted me and said he had sold vegan cupcake (Feb. 9th), so he had gotten more money for the plane ticket. Another flag was that he was spending all this money before I got my gecko.

First I had just said which weekend I was going to pick him up, but over a week before I was going home we set an exact date and time. 24 hours before I am to pick him up, he texts me and says we may have to make it a later time because he is on call as a nurse and there is a good chance he will have to work a double. I had told him prior that I would be driving back to VT that day, and couldn't pick him up later than noon. He also tried to blame me for "changing the date" when all I had said before we set a date was "weekend of". Long story short before I can put the texts up, he said if I don't hear from him at 6a.m. the day of, he has to work.

Morning comes and no texts. I was upset because we had set these plans up over a week in advance, and 24hrs before he says there may be a problem. He also tells me that I should have known he was a nurse and could be on call, because it says he is a nurse on his website. Riiight,

I texted him around 10:30 saying I was upset and wanted a refund as I did not want to A) Pay for shipping when I was 40min away and B) Wait till weather was OK to ship (plus trust issues and the fact that it would be too late for a paypal claim). We had discussed this the previous day, and he said because I paid in full I could only get a credit towards another gecko (I only paid in full to help him out). I told him because it was his fault and he cancelled plans, that if I didn't get my gecko that I wanted a refund. I also threatened to start a BOI thread.

Well what do you know, Derek texts me back when he is supposed to be at work and not able to text. I immediately knew he was home, and questioned him. He started calling me names, saying I had a bad attitude, was a spoiled brat, a female dog, and it wasn't his fault blah blah. And finally, "come get your stupid gecko...".

So he was leading me to believe he wasn't home when he really was. I did end up getting the gecko and because he was healthy and as described I refrained from a BOI post. I'm sorry for not doing it earlier if it would had stopped some of you from buying from him. I will post pictures of the texts as soon as I can, there are a lot of them.
