    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I recently contacted Diana for an 08 bee female for $700+shipping. After a couple of emails I agreed to buy it on receipt of the second picture, a dated one that would identify ownership. She marked it sold for me in the ad, stopped communication once I asked question and sold it to someone else. Gonna post the emails and PMs. This isnt more because of bitterness, more because I have a bad feeling about this seller in the first place.

I will post everything in the order that it was communicated.

That would work fine :) However, shipping is not included in the cost of a single animal - but it may be slightly cheaper than $50. If you give me your ZIP I can get you a quote :)

Yeah, I'm not sure why they went in there. I did check you as Not Spam, though, so hopefully it stops now :p

I do have a camera phone, but its a bit old so it doesn't have a USB port on it unfortunately. Still trying to get that camera, though :p (And I did mark her sold for you on the thread :) )

Between those last 3 emails, the female gets marked sold in the thread and she made the comment that it is indee spoken for.

I did find the camera, but I set it down just before dinner and completely forgot about taking the pictures! I'm so sorry about that! I can will get them to you first thing in the morning.

As for the number, I can get that to you as soon as the kids get off to school in the morning (We have a "bank" of cell phones for our family that I keep in the kitchen once the kids come home from school. They aren't assigned a certain phone, so I'll have to see which one they don't grab in the morning. Some consider me an over protective mom )

Hey any word on those pics?

So all contact stopped, and suddenly the animal is sold to someone else. I received her emails just fine, so her excuse about an email discrepancy in her ad is fishy. I hope Chuck isnt posting a ba guy thread in a week or two.

I am right there with you Konstantin... The bee pics looked aweful familiar to another one but I do not know where. When she emailed me about the bees... She did in fact say that the female was sold before she sent me a pic of the male. The pic of the male happens to be the SAME pic in your post. So what I dont get is, is that the pic of the male or the female? I had her send me the pics of all the Mojaves too. Never did I get a pic of BOTH bees however.

*sigh* I would be shocked if a bee over 1000 grams still looked like that....i highly doubt the bee in that pic is over 1000 grams...considering they darken up alot as they get that size, i haven't seen a bee that yellow once it hit over 1000 grams...also a female bee that large for only $700? I told you in chat that seemed fishy considering people are still selling hatchlings for around that much

other then that....goooood find on that post from Aug....I had a few funny feelings as well when you where in chat talking about wanting to buy that bee....the fact that the picture is in another post from back in Aug sure doesn't help this situation look any more innocent

Oh its not just my post, in her email she sent me that picture as the female also.

I also agree that a bee over 1000 grams would not be as vibrant, as they do tend to darken up considerably by that weight.

I only followed the classified because I was possibly interested in some of the Mojaves myself, but thought that some of the prices to me seemed a little high, so I was just waiting to see what happened in the ad before offering a price I thought was reasonable.

In following the ad, I to was lead to believe that Pav had purchased the animal and was awaiting a final picture for confirmation. It seemed as Tigerlily had agreed to all of the arrangements that Pav had presented to her.

Now, I dont agree with Harold as to the first one who sends money wins. Once I reach an agreement with a client even a verbal, I honor that commitment so long as the buyer does not breach that in any way. However, I do agree with him that you were not scammed.

I do believe that there was definitely something funny with the supposed missing emails, and in my opinion what it boils down to is Chuck was able to cough up the total balance due all at once and the sale was passed onto him.

Once again, IMO defintely questionable customer service on the part of the seller.

Pav, good luck with finding another Bee and....

Chuck, hope all works out well on your end

I do hope that this situation works out for Chuck, as i know it wasnt his intention to mess anything up for Pav...altho with the info presented so far and the fact that the picture seems to be stolen...its not looking to promising on weather he will get a bee shipped to him =(

Let's see....

1) New account on Fauna

2) Underpriced yearling bumblebees

3) Stolen pictures

4) Dropped communication after request for additional pics to prove she has snake

1+2+3+4 doesn't add up to good news. Glad to see you didn't rush in and send any money. At worst you miss out on a good deal, but I doubt that the seller actually has them. I feel bad for anyone that sent money.

I actually hope that they get what they bought..... just don't think it's going to happen.

If it's not too much trouble for a moderator an IP check would be nice. Just to get an idea on location or any other accounts. :shrug01:

A big red flag for me with her was her acct name is amazingly close to a reputable breeders. Too close. Also I noticed that @ least 1 known scammer also caught using stolen pics has been logging in here & reading LOTS of B.O.I. threads. Maybe to figure out how they went wrong in other scams. We all need to watch out... I feel a helluva s**tstorm coming.

Just to let everyone know... I was looking into the Bees as well as the Mojaves. I will say that she did tell me right off, the only bee left was the male. Could it bee because she only had ONE pic of the bee, maybe. I got an odd feeling from this deal right from the start and felt that the picture was seen by me somewhere else but could not place where. The "male" bee pic I received is the same one Konstantin got as the female pic.

I havent really been paying attention to all the Mojave pics out there but who knows.
I DID check around the BOI to find a Diana Carpenter and, to no avail, I did not find one. I had bad instincts about this deal and decided that it just wasnt for me. I dont know why but, from the begining, it seemed fishy.

She did not post that the female Bee was sold until Konstantin threatened me with bodily harm that she, the bee, was his. I did notice though, her constant contact was great until there was some questioning at hand.

happen to still have the pics of the mojos? posting them may help if they are stolen as well

John,

I could post them but what I dont like about posting them is that I cannot prove that she sent them to me. If I can prove that they were sent by her, I would DEFINITELY post them.

ehhh...i may be wrong...but that doesn't look like a super pastel...looks kinda like a fire

Dean...did she email them or PM them to you....either way there should be a header with the date and what not that you can copy and post along with them

Willow-That's what I was thinking... DEF not a super.
Dean-Why wouldn't you be able to prove it? Wouldn't a screen shot show who sent the messages? Or copy & paste?

Basically, I am just doing the math. I have a couple of collections of animals that I am looking at. I am trying to figure out where the best value for the money is for me. The other deal has all proven breeder size females, some morph ones too. But, its also 5000.00. I just want to get the best value for my dollar all together.

At my last weigh-in (at the first of the month), he weighed 833g. He's eating F/T rats every 4-5 days.

The Mojave male weights are 907g and 879g. Both are eating on the same schedule as the Bumblebee.

The females are at 1116g and 1080g. They eat F/T rats every 3-4 days.

Pictures are attached. Thanks! :)
