Did I call it or what?????

Well I am glad you are starting to see why I am thinking the way I am....LOL.... I guess we will have to see what happens.... I still think I am right....LOL

if i remember

the picture correctly ........ i dont think the blu-tail was an albino at all , definately a tang though (was only a pic of the tail though)

Funny thing is it is clear you have no knowledge of Trempers breeding program. He is not using purple eyed albinos to make blue albinos, he is using something else. I've seen his projects, and with that I'll say, you will be surprized on what he produces.

Taken directly off of Trempers site.....
I called BS on this from the begining...... He counted his chickens before they hatched and now he is forced to back peddling through his BS....... Seems to me he was realy counting on this purple eyed albino to produce blue albinos...... Anyone with a half of a brain could have seen this coming..... I wonder what the excuse will be in 2006 and 2007......

Gregg-

Yes, Justyn does have firsthand knowlege of Tremper's breeding program.

Perhaps Ron Tremper doesn't want to post pictures of certain project animals. Element of surprise I reckon.

marketing? or mb accidents do happen?

i believe justyn, rons always got something up his sleeve

and yes gregg, accidents/mishaps can and do happen...mb it did happen, mb it didnt? who really cares? it shouldnt concern you that much- u do got your own life after all? =)

also think about this...from a marketing viewpoint- its great to have "doubters" because they help "advertise" and promote your product (by the time this thread is done im sure thousands would have viewed)...people who arent even interested become interested and thats how u line up potential customers?

everyones gonna be "on the edge of their seats" waiting for even a glimpse of this "blue albino" when it hits the market...doesnt really matter how they will look im sure they will sell like hot cakes- but make it clear im not buying one...pretty good marketing huh? hes a genius

I have very little 1st hand

knowledge of Ron's breeding programs. I have seen Ron at shows and of course, own a few of his albinos. I will wait to see what he has and then decide if I want one (or more). I do agree with Marcia...great marketing! I think in 2 years when I release my new "supers" the world will be lining up at my door to buy one! These geckos do dishes, answer phones, clean windows (and their own cages) as well as rub my aching feet when I come home from work. The hets for these only do dishes...I am working on adjusting incubation temps to get just the right traits! :smokin:

I kust dont buy into it...... Why set a date and then push it up 2 years..... I guess we will have to wait and see then....... My guess is that the genetics or the line breeding did not pan out how he thought it would..... I still stand by what I say no matter what most of you claim you know or saw..... There will not be any all blue albinos.....

Seriously though Are all of you reading Rons words???? When I put two and two together in this particular situation I come up with ZERO...... If I am wrong then I will be the first to aplogize but I guess we will have to wait two years before that happens..... IH, I see your point but you are missing mine I guess..... It does not matter what animals he is using for this project..... If it is not a totaly blue leo than to me it is all talk or hype or a big misjudgement on the genetics..... This is my point...... And it is not like Tremper has not been proven wrong on his "proven genetics".......

Why set back the date, hmmm.....for the same reason Tremper posted, his "het. blue" males did not hatch out due to an incubator problem. I have had my share of problems with important projects I'm working on, things always go wrong. I do find it interesting that you are making a biased judgment based on complete speculation with no factual basis. Luckily, I'm not here to convince you Tremper will produce blue albinos.

You should also point out that Tremper has produced more new leopard gecko morphs then anyone else. In fact, he nearly produced them all! He must have some knowledge about what he is doing right, afterall, he does make a decent living off of them. More then I can say at the moment.

Yeah IH, the only thing that will convince me is a pic of an all blue albino..... Actually, IH, I am not trying to take anything away from what he has done for the hobby...... He was very lucky to have imported albino hets and yes, he is great at what he does...... My way of thinking on this blue albino thing is the result of me reading his own words and alittle bit of thinking on my own...... Things just do not fit...... Hey if there are blue leos and he did this as a marketing thing than I am the idiot...... But if you were working on such a ground breaking project would you not take every precausion to protect that project???? Especially if you are someone like Ron Tremper..... Should I just start taking the words of breeders and not think for my self..... Am I breaking some leopard gecko breeder rules by doubting what a breeder is saying???? And if you want to talk about what is fact and what isnt, how can you have blue albino hets???? This obviously has not been proven at all.....

Beh... I don't take anything Ron publishes on his site seriously, but since Justyn has actually been to Ron's facility and seen his work in progress, I'm gonna go with what he says.

Well, if you ask me, not only would I have to see a pic, I would have to see the real deal in person. As for Tremper importing hets, it never happened. Someone else imported the hets and produced an albino, Tremper aquired the project from them. I'll let everyone know more about this later, when I finally get around to having the info published with a friend. As for him taking ever precaution, I agree, but mistakes happen. He has been incubating all his leo eggs the same way for years with few problems, I don't see him changing it. Some things you may not know about Tremper:

1.) He introduced superworms into the U.S.
2.) He introduced hissing cockroaches into the U.S.
3.) Opened up Madagascar to the trade.
4.) Introduced the Stripe, Reverse Stripe, Tangerine, Giant, Tremper Albino, Jungle, etc. to the hobby. Has many more to come.
5.) Helped paved the way for producing CBB Pacman frogs in the hobby.
6.) Like Leachies? He brought the first giant geckos over.

The list goes on and on. After taking to Tremper for a good while when I went to visit with him, I personaly think this guy thinks on a much higher plain then the majority of hobbists out there. Let is be said that this guy is no fool and he is years above myself and a fair amount of others.

not to mention...

tremper was also the first to breed several different species under captive conditions for the first time ever in the us, and possibly in the world (at that time in the 70's)..

also he played an important role in our understanding of the importance of UV light and calcium/vita d3 supplement in certain species- namely chameleons...this was waaay before all the knowledge known today about how cholesterol is converted to cholecalciferol by contact with UV on the skin, which is convereted in the liver to 25 hydroxy cholecalciferol (also known as 25 vita D) which is convereted in the kidney to 1,25 vita D3 (active form of vita D) which increases calcium absorption in the gut...or did ya know that too?

as an educated herper that knows his history and a little here and there, i respect THE MAN'S WORKS as a pioneer...but that dont mean i gotta throw my money at him?

Your right Jon. Tremper does have an extremely impressive list going for himself. I won't be buying a blue albinos, I have too many of my own projects I'm working on. If there is one thing I have learned from Tremper, don't follow others, create your own following.
