In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am genuinely happy for you that your snake is healthy. I was certain he would be.
You have expressed concern and misgiving many times prior to receiving him right here on the BOI, and promised to all that you would describe his condition on arrival.
There were almost neon signs to this seller that this particular sale had better be good, and I was certain it would be even if the seller had to go to Petco and buy a plump snake there to ship, that resembled what you picked out.

So to me, that your snake is healthy, is not a representative indication.

If he did indeed come from the seller's stock, I'm with everyone else in hoping for the best for his future.

He ate today-my friend was worried that he might not eat, possibly from not being used to eating, but when he fed his others he decided to go ahead and try feeding him. So one feeding down. :) I won't feel totally comfortable until a few feedings have passed and he has not gone south in health. He will be staying at my friend's for 6 months to ensure the safety of my other snakes.
He does look as though he is a very young snake-I would say, with my unpracticed eye that he appears to be only a month or so old.
He does look just like the very first pictures that Doc sent me even before I found these threads, and I was so glad I found them!
I hope so much that anyone else who buys from him finds these threads, the support of all of you has meant the world to me, and made it easier for me to stay calm.

I too figured you would get a healthier snake all eyes are on you and this transaction. I had mine for a month before they started going down hill. All fed every feeding and never regurged until the week they died except for one the first one that died ate looked fine no regurge and was gone. I truly wish you the best with your snake. The snake being small does not shock me, mine were 8 months old and still under 12 grams the smallest being 9 grams the largest being 12 grams. And that was after a month of good feedings here. The two that did survive are still small for thier ages.

I will continue to update as time goes on. :) All my friend and I can do is give him the best care we can and hope he makes it. But that's exactly what I am going to do.

Everyone who has had problems made me even more cautious than I already was. :) I am naturally a very careful person.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

His tail is so tiny it's about the width of a pinhead. I've never seen a tail that small before. He's probably just about exactly 8 inches long.

Hatchling size. I hope he does ok. The one little one I have left will be in quarentine for atleast 6 months. She has eat 2 times now. But she still weighs in at a whooping 5 grams. Smaller than 90% of my own hatchlings Before they eat..... But Atleast for now she is alive. If she does live, I will see about finding her a nice family who wants a pet :)

I second this, I am glad that your snake appears in much better health than others have been.
My first thought, is that it is possibly a baby he intended to keep, & was actually feeding it.

I agree with both of you.

ONE seemingly positive sale is NOT going to fix this. He had a fair number of sales go okay last season too. There needs to be a season free of freaky baby deaths* before this is close to made right.

*By free of freaky deaths I mean that a few hatchlings not thriving here and there is expected. Not the current numbers he is having die.

It really shouldn't take for someone to get one of his personal keepers for someone to get a snake that will live from him. I really believe a lot of this could have been avoided if back months ago he had admitted he had a problem in his collection instead of laying blame everywhere else. Everytime I read his website it makes me sick, he still contradicts himself there with all this going on.

I agree that's not right, or acceptable that it takes this to get a decent snake. :( And I think from now on I'll just wait and see whenever I see a snake for sale from him. Go with some of the others I have bought from. People really shouldn't breed more than they are able or willing to properly care for.

Yup, you NEVER lay blame on someone else or be rude and childish when it's NOT the buyer's fault that something happened.

Angie I do not know if you are familiar with this site but it has some really top notch breeders and terrific advice:

I agree with you Bob, it hurts my heart! I still can not believe it took Rich suggesting something for him to jump on it and run with it as if it was scripture. Finally taking the blame, somewhat, after so many other suggested the exact something many times over the last few years! It disgusts me!
