In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Donations icon for contributors to this site.

RITCHIE, their is also another scenerio

and that would be .....people realizing that you support Rich and they may have reservations about that as well. As I said in my earlier post and by the way it was for the reasons you just mentioned in the previous post, its not a good idea to advertise as a contributor with an icon. It leaves the impression that those who dont have an icon have not contributed, and that may be the fartherst from the truth.

Since it has been known to many people from the start, that the purpose of my offering paid banner ads for this site was for those people to help contribute to the maintenance and expenses I incur to keep it running, I think it is only fair that I automatically give all advertisers that contributor icon as recognition of their donations. However, it is NOT mandatory that someone have this icon, and as such I am asking that anyone who does NOT want to have this icon associated with them to please let me know and I will remove it. Although I think public recognition of their support for this site is justly warranted, I am not about to force this down anyone's throat. This is STRICTLY optional.

Thanks.

Taking sides?

I think that the people who are willing to donate, should do so NOT because they will have a little icon letting everyone know...but because they care. This little 'incentive program' seems like it will do more harm than good. *I* for one would not want to be labelled as taking one side or the other, as I frequent several forums and this seems like a soap-opera waiting to happen.

I'm not opposed to the idea of donations, or support....but I believe that this may turn into a Jeff vs. Rich event, with people jumping on either bandwagon.

...just my .02 cents

I debated with myself whether or not to have Rich put up the icon when I made my contribution. It finally boiled down to the fact that I have nothing to hide. I like this site and I use it often. I use some other sites as well and if they don't like my participation here or feel threatened by it then my leaving them is their loss.

I'm not going to hide my support because I don't want to seem like I'm taking sides. So long as I can say what I want and know it will be here forever I'm all for this place. I'm not going to let fear of what someone else might think of me for being a supporter here change who or what I am. It's not a contest. I like some sites more than others. Plain and simple. I don't produce enough animals to warrant a banner ad so this is how I show my support and thanks for Rich's help.

It seems to me that if you don't want your support here known because someone might think you were taking sides then it you are wishy washy to begin with. How could they think that unless you allowed them to? Perhaps if you depend on another site for your income it's different, well, no it's not. I still wouldn't keep it hidden even if I did depend on another site to bring me business. If they had a problem and tried to tell me what to do and who I could support it would be time to part ways. Maybe it's just me.

Conversely I don't wear my contributing here, small though it is monitarily, as a badge. I've never made it a secret that I had a KS account.

Hiding is just not something I care to do. It's sort of decietful. Better out in the open for me.

hey , I know i have been a real pain for some people here , but as soon as i sell some of these leos I have up i will be makeing donations on each on i sell. good luck with everything. icon or not . this icon thing was a good idea tho. it will be good for new members or non members to see how much the members love this site. i think the icon should be informative tho. so people who dont know what it is will with out asking someone about it.

oh never mind it does say what it is, i couldnt tell becuse of the way it was made to look like its shineing

it wasnt funny to me, why would anyone want to say in rich we trust. rich isnt god

I have absolutely nothing to hide, Wes...and furthermore, for the record - I DO support this site and have always used it as a great point of reference for publicly voiced opinions on various sellers.

That being said, I would also have you know that I am by NO means 'wishy-washy'. I just chose not to participate in the little pissing matches that go on in various forms (that you seem to be so fond of).

I don't understand what you are talking about when you state that you would rather not hide, and that it is deceitful. Is this insinuating in any way that I am? Chosing not to participate, and 'hiding' are two seperate things, and I would be glad to post their respective definitions if you need me to.

p.s. I plan to make a monitary contribution to the site soon, but I'll be skipping the icon.

Jay, to be quite honest, I had not considered YOU at all in my previous post.

I was merely stating my opinion. Just because you don't like to get into pissing contests doesn't mean they won't occur and are not on occasion entertaining.

Do as you please by all means. If I insulted you it was unintentional.

Hey I am glad to help.

Not to mention you host my website. And are doing a GREAT job in that aspect as well.

I don't need you going anywhere else, anytime soon!

Another perk for contributors of this site!

I have just opened up a new forum in the Admin section entitled Steering Committee Meeting Room, which is available ONLY to those people who have contributed a minimum of $25 as a donation, or are site advertisers. Bear in mind, that like a dummy, I didn't think of this immediately, so I am trying to remember everyone who meets this criteria, and adjusting their membership status accordingly to give them access to this new forum. PLEASE contact me via email or PM if you cannot see that forum displayed so I can upgrade your membership.

The purpose of this new forum is for me to have a core group of people obviously and genuinely interested in the successful and correct direction for this site. This is adequately manifested by the obvious gesture of a donation or via actively advertising on this site. As such, I have set aside a private forum where I can talk to you all as a group and ask for your input on issues that I feel I should get some input from, which will carry more weight than a poll or request for input to the general public. It can also be a forum where I can be taken to task for some harebrained idea I have come up with and yet keep it semi private without involving the general public if it is not necessary.

The forum is now open to those people I have updated to "contributor" status, so please check in to make sure you have access to it. If you do NOT, please contact me so I can correct that oversight.

Thank you all for your help.

Rich.... that's a noble idea, but I have one suggestion.... you have a "warning points" system in place at the moment, where you say that anybody that gets 100 points will be banned from this site because they just can't follow the rules you have set forth (I'm still not sure if you mean with a fine or forever).... but, the people that have (let's say) more than 30 points, really shouldn't be given special privileges just because they donate some money to your site.... it's like telling them that no matter what they did to EARN those points, give this site some money and all is forgotten, they can now join your elite club.... I just don't think that's fair to everybody else that knows how to follow the rules (and I'm NOT talking about me).... it's the same as BUYING your way into the party....
In Florida, if you have ONE felony conviction, you CAN'T get a gaming license to work for one of the casinos, you can't legally vote and you can't get a gun permit.... you should put those same type of rules into this "new" club of yours.... pick a number.... 30, 35, 40.... if you go over that amount, you can't move into the high-roller's suite.... it just makes it more beneficial to NOT get those points.... like an incentive for being good AND donating money....
Just some food for thought....

Neil

Actually, this is an good point, Neil, and one I will give some serious thought to. Perhaps I need to consider some of the more serious warning point infractions as the equivalent of "felonies".

Thanks.
