In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dragon Vision Probs

Matt, get a fecal done. good start. then i would do calcium treatments. liquid coral calcium or the finger dipped in calcium method. if you short on cash just use you powdered calcium. See if he's more lively

Also, not saying it will work for you, but i have used Reptaid on many dragons to help "nurse" them through parasite infections at the local pet store i volunteer at. You could try that out it may have some good effects. Contact elliot www.reptaid.com and see how much one would be to get it to you.

Uh what??? like you treated them for parasites with reptiaid???

not ReptiAid
Reptaid by amber technologies. its a newer product but yes i have had extreme success in knocking down cocci and pinworm levels in some of their animals using this product. (proven through fecal exams not just me talkin out my rear lol)

If you have any questions on it or want info you can contact me via PM i dont want to hijack this thread.

Hum, no s*%t. kinda weird. I just find it difficult to believe.( not in the least calling you a liar) but (lol) for example we'll go with coccidia is a common protozoans. this is a parasite that dragons normally carry that reproduces more when a dragon is in captivity. and can be overloaded in a dragons system by fecal contaminated food. i.e. you over feed your dragons crickets. then the crickets walk around the cage eating the feces thats in the cage and then the dragon eats the cricket. thus overloading that dragon. ( why you should never have excess food in the dragon cage.) Coccidia is treated by Albon, and some breeders have used flagile. but then say that dragon has hookworms or pin worms. Now your into a entirely different parasties. your dealing with nematodes. and most nematodes are treated with panacur.
So how is one med used to treat two different kinds of parasites and aid it in calcium???

Its not actually a medication as much as its an herb based supplement all of this info is listed out on that website i quoted above (and elliot the distributor knows far more about it than i do) but basically what it boils down to is the Reptaid has properties that severely boosts reptiles natural immune systems and allows them to fight off any parasitic infection much more efficiently and effectively. Reptaid has been shown to aid in the fighting of URI and Mouth rot as well.

small syringe orally or injected into a feeder (something stockier bodied like a dubia as they have room for the liquid). Comes in two forms Reptaid and Reptaid XL (for animals over 250grams)

here is the quote from the original thread where he introduced the product
We are breeders of chameleons and geckos in the Pacific Northwest. Our websites are http://www.chameleonsnorthwest.com and http://www.geckosnorthwest.com where you can see more about our work and our facility. We worked with Amber Technology to help develop an herbal supplement for reptiles. It is an AID IN THE FIGHT AGAINST REPTILE DISEASE. This is the way the FDA has instructed Amber Technology to describe these herbal supplements. It is not a drug, nor does it need a perscription. But it works.

Reptaid has been used on many species of reptiles for over year with amazing results. It is being used in at least 7 countries that we know of right now. It has helped reptiles recover from
1. parasite infections
2. eye infections
3. respiratory infections
4. lip rot type infections
5. loss of appetite
6. loss of libido
7. lack of energy or vitality

I know this is a lot to claim but we are only telling you what we have seen in our own facility and what many many others have told us about the successes they are having in their work with reptiles. Reptaid has been used to help many species of chameleons, bearded dragons, geckos, iguanas, water dragons, monitors, tegus, snakes, turtles, and tortoises ! As time goes along more species of animals will experience the benefit of this new herbal supplement.

SHELF LIFE - before opening the bottles, the shelf life is 4 years. After it is mixed, the shelf life is 1 year if you keep the Reptaid in the refrigerator.

DOSING REPTAID (for smaller animals 250g or less) - the basic guideline for dosing is .1ml of solution per 100g animal weight. That is 1/10th of a ml. There are 300 .1ml doses in one bottle. We supply a 1ml syringe with each bottle of Reptaid. The syringe comes with a removeable needle. We use the needle to inject the Reptaid into a dubia or a cricket when we have an animal that doesn't like to open its mouth except for food.

DOSING REPTAID XL (for larger animals 250g or more) The basic dose is .05ml per 500g animal weight. Again it can be given orally or injected into a feeder.

We are really thrilled to be invited to participate in this forum and we want to help in any way we can. We realize that herbal supplements are not for everyone. If you prefer standard perscription drugs from the vet, then that is just fine. But this thread is all about trying a new herbal supplement on your animals, possibly saving a lot of money, and probably having much healthier and happier animals.

If you have questions about Reptaid, please post them here and I will check here often to reply.

If you are one of many forum members who are already using Reptaid or Reptaid XL for your reptiles, please post some of your results here so others can appreciate what Reptaid can do for their reptiles.

Hey Matt....sorry to hear about your dragon drowning. For the record, the post about helping a drowning beardie was by Nicole from Howlin' Gale, not me.

oh i didnt attack him i merely posted a link to this thread in his sale ad that he is so worried about updating but ignoring this one.

This is not the BOI, and not the place for a seller to come to address a problem.

Asking about some concern's is one thing, bringing a person/business name into it and discussing the transaction & how it should be addressed are another. Those are BOI topics.

whatever you say harold. the OP doesnt want to go to the boi but it still needed to be brought to the attention of the breeder that conducted the trade IMO but then i guess my opinion isnt important as im not a mod. I apologize.

Sigh...I had a feeling this thread was going to end up like this.

I agree that one of the first things you should do is rule out intestinal parasites from the dragon. IF you MUST bring your dragon to a regular dog and cat veterinarian (which I do NOT recommend) they CAN send the fecal sample out to a lab that DOES specialize in reptilian medicine. In the meantime, take all the necessary precautions you would with an animal that has a communicable disease.

Then, you should rule out MBD. This is something you do need a herp vet for. The animal's bone density should be evaluated for all different types of MBD (there are 4 main types) and other problems.

Consider having a blood panel run to check kidney value, liver value, Complete Blood Count to check for infections and the like..

And as far as the Reptiaid goes, it is not a replacement for medical intervention. It's a little bit like echinacea....it boosts the immune system to ward off disease easier (essentially). That is IT. It will not cure or treat anything. The animals own body does that...it is not a "miracle drug" like a lot of people are inclined to believe.

I wish you the best with your dragon, please update us as soon as possible with how he's doing.

I have already posted that it boosts the animals natural immune system to allow the dragon to more effectively fight off parasites. I did not try to portray it as a medication in fact i flat out said it was not medication. I just know what it can help do

And to the OP here is the testimonials page i talked about. I didnt see a link to it on the main reptaid page. http://www.reptaid.com/testimonials.htm

Just got this pm i thought id share with you all just in case you are looking to buy one of the dragons he is selling now. sorry if this offends anyone but it is from a Very well know breeder and i think all should see it.
They have asked to remain unnamed and so here is the jist.

"I just saw your topic on the sick trans you got from Anthony.
I just thought I would share with you that every dragon I got from him over a two year period did not do well for some reason or another and I always got the short end of the stick.
The most recent was a dragon I traded him he wanted to get rid of and I took her back. He said she was not growing and was still 9 inches at 8 months old. She ended up having a bacterial infection and protozoas. After a week of flagyl (metronidazole) and 3 weeks of panacure(1x a week for 3 weeks) she was at 16 inches in under 3 months.
So please keep that dragon seperate and treat him ASAP. This bacterial infection can get into the blood stream and start causing neuro problems.
Start treatment ASAP.
I never told Anthony just decided to not do business with him anymore since I never faired well in trades.

Again i mean to offend no one or make this post worse but i dont think he should be pawning of sick dragons left and right.
Please beware NOT saying he is a bad breeder or person but thing dont seem to be the best ither.

Apparently, you don't want to take the hint... BOI topics don't belong in the discussion forum. It doesn't matter whether you want to use the BOI or not...THAT is the place that they can be discussed. If you don't want to take it there, you should have left the other party unnamed and just discussed the animals.
