The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works in the real world. Typing and spelling flaws don't make peope unique; it makes them look incompetent.

Presentation matters. A single misspelling or typo on a resume is enough to get your resume thrown in the trash no matter how much you qualify for the job. It's very competitive out there. When you're dealing with employers and buyers who have hundreds of choices to sift through, surface flaws are what they're going to look at. It's all about setting an excellent first impression. It would be nice if people weren't so superficial that way, but if you can't write or spell properly, people are going to think you're stupid. Plain and simple.

yea spelling would matter in certain cases. maybe i should have stated it, i mean i wouldnt want a laywer who cant spell worth a crap. i would expect something out of someone who is a high school graduate or college graduate. in this case we do not know and therefore cant pass judgement on it I.M.O

i am not an employer, buying employees. but rather a consumer, buying a item. do you trust the pimply faced guy at wal-mart who takes your money? no, you trust the products you buy.

like i said before, this is reptile breeding. it dont require language skills to be a successfull breeder. it wouldnt hurt agreed, but not required. the only real skills i would think of anyone would be needing would be science, people and math. even then people lacking those manage to sell their reptiles.

if flukers had it their way they would make reptile vending machines....

i would also like to note, the best of the best in con-artist represent themselves so professionally it makes it super easy to be taken. so dont always judge a book by its cover.

And I am back to my vet bills up to $150 now, trying to save a $15 hatchling who needs to go into week 4 of Panacur doses:bawling:

wow thats sad.. hope your lil leo gets better in the end.

I think that everyone is entitled to thier opinion and whether they want to buy from someone or not. I didn't agree with mutated looking rats in the quizno commercials but hey some would call it advertising genius. I think calling someone ignorant because they chose a name you don't agree with is going a little overboard. For example I have seen Kum and Go's in Iowa (they are gas stations) and there are a lot of them. Apparantly the name didn't scare off too many people.
One could go so far as to say that the name he chose is getting him recognition. It's not a name you'll forget and look at the interest it has gained on here.

Change your phone message. Build up a clientele first and then you can relax with fun messages. Come up with a butt-kicking, catchy and attractive name, set up a neat webpage and take very good care of the leos! ...And change your signature too!
Why do people always feel the need to change you? I asked my wife that and she told me I shouldn't ask so many questions.

Just playing the devil's advocate. I don't know if I would buy from Herpwhore or not I would have to do my research and talk to him for awhile, just like everyone else.

But books, in order to stand out, have to mind the covers
True but like the saying goes "you can't judge a book by it's cover" just cause it stands out doesn't mean it doesn't suck. The beatles white album intially looked pretty boring but look what it had on it.

Duane - I applaud your effort to prove yourself. I'll have to turn down your offer though for lack of space.

LOL

"I didn't agree with mutated looking rats in the quizno commercials but hey some would call it advertising genius."

Actually they are called Sponge Monkeys, LOL. I think they are Absolutely Hilarious. If there was such an animal, I'd like one, especially if they played the guitar and could sing!

I absolutely agree, If this fella remains honest and his animals are top notch, His reputation will precede his business name. Although until then It may be slow-going for picking up window shoppers. Myself, - I'd rather be taken care of by FlameThrowingToadStompinAssWhooper who exhibits honesty and integrity than to be ripped off by Executive Reptile Propagation and herpetological research Partners Incorporated, But that's just me.

If Remendowski is happy with his transaction and will continue to do business with HerpWhore, then my hats off to them both. That's what it's all about.

Often times the difference between a spelling champion and someone who doesn't spell all that great, is how well they can utilize spell check. Trust me, LOL.

Hey Duane

I got a SMOKIN pair of red blood pythons yesterday, I don't have your e-mail addy, swing in tomorrow.

Duane does produce some nice animals, I also thought the name was not the best you could have used.

Paul do those things really make you want to go out and get sub? As a pet cool but to use to sell food? They make me want to regurge my meal not eat one.

Just to make a quick point I have seen con men with very nice looking professional websites so if you judge them by that then prepare to be taken for money.

The name "herpwhore" doesn't offend me in the slightest. I'm a 34 year old male, married w/ 2 kids, who teaches for a living. Frankly, I find the name unique, and that's a good thing in this business. Your spelling does need work. Mine is not great either, which is why I keep a dictionary right beside my computer. And yes, I still make mistakes. The older generation to which you are trying to sell to, will definately take exception to ads, responses, letters, etc which contain obvious mispellings.

Because I teach I see how kids write/spell everyday. It's scary, and I think it's becoming an "epidemic" so to speak. Because of computers, and the amount of communication which takes place on them, everything gets shortened. As an example: Because becomes "cuz." I was grading a test the other day, and a girl used "cuz" at least 10 times to explain why something worked the way it did. I let it slide, but later I wondered, should I have done that? Probably not. She'll probably think nothing of responding to a question at a job interview, or a college entrance exam with the word "cuz" because she's always used it. It's not right, and people who are not as computer literate or who are not familiar with the term would look at her use of it as either lazyness or stupidity (of which she is neither).

Herpwhore-all those English classes you thought would never matter, now do. Proof read your ads and responses, correct your mistakes. Your name is fine, it will offend a few people, but frankly anyone put off by a name like that and not able to see the humor in it, is probably not going to be an easy customer to deal w/ anyway.

For the person with the $150 Vet bill due to Panacur treatments. Panacur is available at your local feed store and for $150 you could buy enough to treat every leopard gecko east or west of the Mississippi river, heck maybe both. You might want to look for a new vet. Unless s/he's done way more than a fecal float and exam, that seems way high to me.

Duane--

I'm not sure you should take too many lessons in naming from an individual who insists on flouting the BOI last name rules. "Roars" CATEGORICALLY IS NOT her real last name. Which seems obvious, as well it should.

Mark, watch your tail before you step on it. If you missed the point of the thread and our advice to Duane, just read it from the start. I won't rediscover the velcro with you.

Wendy I am sorry that you are so upset with me for not agreeing with you. The point of the thread was that Duane has good animals, period!!! You decided to make it how can we help duane with his business . If I am still able to read correctly I don't recall Duane ever saying he had a problem selling his animals. I would go so far as to say I am willing to bet that he sells more animals this month than he usually does.
You go a head and keep making your judgements. I am 32 by the way the reason it is Otter_23 is because Otter was already taken. Perhaps I am a Micheal Jordan fan or a closet Magic Johnson fan. To assume because you put your birth year on your name that every number on someones name is there age doesn't make sense. Think about it if I put 23 because that is how old I am than I am a complete idiot because next year I would have to relog in with Otter_24 which is against the rules, but maybe you aren't one for following the rules (Roars?).
So someone posts a good experience with Duane and then the thread is turned into how Duane can improve his business and self (which are all personal opinions).
Anyway I'm sure you are a very nice, opinionated lady who loves her pets. Just don't hate us that aren't as quick to label others or disagree with you. You might find we are nice as well. I'm not going to waste anymore time on this post. If you want to call me to chat about it feel free. Message me and I'll get you my phone number.

My %&$*?

What the *&^% is my %^&*?

I've never had any interaction with you, nor ever been on the giving end of any negative interaction in the reptile community. Follow the rules.

Wanda - point blank. Is "ROARS" your last name, or not. Failure to answer this question will be interpretted as confirmation that it is NOT.
