Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone who has ever sold even one snake can understand the frustrations over "that" buyer. The one who asks a bunch of questions and/or haggles over the price, and then just disappears after you've answered everything, taken pictures, emailed, etc etc. Problem is, at one time or another, we've ALL been that guy. Imagine where we'd ALL possibly be if we had gotten a response like the original poster got from Mr. Jolles.

As members of a community continually under fire from bans and negative publicity we do have a responsibility (however much we may grit our teeth over it) to present our passion for reptiles in the most positive, professional way we can.

It started as a failed attempt to do business between the original poster and Mr Jolles. JMHO I think it could have been better placed under the general business forum, as there was no transaction...

I'm not really sure what you are referring to, Peter. I am assuming it is in reference to my "No soup for you" comment concerning your "black balling" people. Personally I think such an endeavor is fruitless and pretty self serving. Telling someone you will not sell to them, when it is extremely likely they will never buy from you again anyway.

The problem with "black balling" is that you have to have something someone wants or needs that they can't get elsewhere. It is pretty rare for anyone to be in that sort of position.

As for my "cavalier attitude", when you alerted me to the problem, I indicated that you should call your local FedEx office to make arrangements for pickup. I also called FedEx from my end. Beyond that, there was nothing else that could be done about it. If that is "cavalier" in your book, then so be it.

I think you are shortselling some of the members here.

Now, don't go thinking I'm in the group you're misunderstanding, I'm not much for nice guy stuff.

However, there are many members here who simply refuse to admit that even a person like peter cannot be made to understand that he's coming off like an ass if it is pointed out to him often and nicely enough. They just try, over and over and over, to help out the helpless.

I've seen it time and again. Maybe if you haven't been around that long you haven't noticed it but there are just some who think everyone is redeemable. They mean well, but, as far as I'm concerned, just don't understand human nature all that well.

I did not read any more of your posts in this thread. I don't know what the "no soup" comment was. This thread is so long I have not been able to read it all and will not be able to.

I am surprised that you posted my email in here - as it was communication between me and you - and not meant for the masses in here. Oh well, I asked for it I guess - I insulted the BOI.

Anyway - I am glad that you called FedEx. I appreciate that. I remember, clearly, thinking that you did not care about the snakes when this was going on. I know that was wrong.

I also remember telling you, when I apologized to you at MARS in 2005, that I "understood" your brief communications during the process (but they were more than adequate) as I had dealt with a lot of people once I started selling online. I remember telling you that I did not know how you did it...

Calling someone a piss-ant or a low-character piece of garbage is not needed to express yourself. Yes, it got you warning points. That is what I would call being overly abusive towards another member.

This is creating it's own little spinoff, the same thing I was complaining about in my first post!lol I'm sorry if I came off as short selling other members, there was just a lot of unnecessary fishing along the way within a post that there was no actual transaction to complain about.. I continued reading, waiting to find the transaction that went south and never found it.. I was just stating that this thread could have been much shorter.

My god this is totally crazy.

The insanity in here reminds me of that base Martin Sheen docked at in Apocalypse now. The one where no one was in charge and the soldier shot the grenade at the VC stuck in the wire yelling "*** you GI!!!" over and over.

Martin Sheen asks the grenadier "who's in charge here, soldier?" The soldier looks at him and says (I think) "you are" or "aren't you?"

Wilomn's post made me think of that. Totally crazy.

Peter seems like he'd rather be left alone. What is everyone getting out of constantly jabbing at him? He seems pretty confident in his ways, so I doubt anyone is going to "change" him. It seems a lot like bullies picking on a kid on the playground who would rather be left alone. Who's the "meanie" now? Jeeze, people...

And no, I've never dealt with Peter. I wouldn't hesitate though should the inclination arise since I highly doubt we'd have any issues given my "style" as a buyer.
