• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy Ember gecko....

So would it be wrong to keep showing others this story to inform them of the misleading information?

I know that I am not going to say whether it is right or wrong.
However, I will say that, should you choose to share info, with others, you will remain "safe" as long as whatever you share is truthful.

Its true. I am trying to work it out with James, but he wants to send me more animals. I don't want that.

Hello there everyone, my name is Amber Akin with Calyxise Geckos.
I purchased a gecko from Ember Geckos about 2 years ago when I was just starting to get into Leos. I know this is fairly irrelevant because it was so long ago but I'd like to state my opinion on Ember Geckos.
I purchased a gecko listed as a "Jungle Tremper Giant 50% change of Super Giant"
I remember the post saying something about her being from a bold snow line or something and that her parents were a giant and a super giant. Which means for sure she would be a giant at least.
I paid $249 for this beautiful baby and was so exited to receive her even though I had spent so much money on this gecko. She was simply amazing to me.

I received her shortly after. She was, as in the pictures on their site, gorgeous.
I had a really big problem with what I saw when I received her though.
She was.. Maybe 10g? And she was cooooooold. From what I know you're not supposed to ship until at least 15g.
I never contacted them because I was pleased with her anyways.

But we have another problem. To this day, over 2 years old, she is only 55g.
She is not a giant, and definitely not a super giant. And I've always fed her well.

I decided almost immediately after I received her that I would never purchase from Ember Geckos again and I would steer anyone away from them if need be.

Anyways, I hope this helps anyone.

Since it was pointed out in a discussion on Facebook that James has 2 different Web sites with different business names I thought it should be pointed out here as well in case someone does a search for the other business. The other site ishttp://samshouseofleopardgeckos.com/ Sam's house of leopard geckos. I don't know his motive and reasoning behind having 2 sites/business names but imo it seems deceptive or like he's trying to hide something.

I would like to jump in here, I can not speak for the problems Nikki is having, I'm terribly sorry to hear this, and hope her gecko pulls through. It's always sad to see one sick no matter what the problem or where you purchased.

Just wanted to note I have some gorgeous geckos I have purchased from James (Ember Gecko) over the years. They always have been lovely, sweet, and so far extremely healthy.
I consider James a friend, he has always been there to help me if I have questions, or just wanted to talk geckos. He is patient, and kind, and always took the time to get back and help me with any thing at all I needed to know about any of my own geckos/ breeding. **

There are 3 guys in this (gecko breeding circle) I look up to, and have been wonderful mentors to me ... Steve from Geckos Etc.... James From Ember Geckos... and Ray from Designer Geckos has been a tremendous help to me.

I hope this can be resolved Nikki, and your little gecko girl snaps out of it and does well. Sad!

PS. As far as James having 2 different sites,,, there's nothing sinister about it, I do not want to answer for him, that is not my place, but it is really quite CUTE as to who Sam is .

I attached a screenshot that explains what a real ember is. Hopefully this works.

So if a true ember is crossed with a sunglow, the first generation babies would all be het for murphy patternless (and raptor/eclipse).

Without the MP, it's not a real ember which is very misleading.

Exactly.

One can add something in to modify the base through said addition, but subtracting from the base and continuing to invoke the base name? My, my.

As an illustrative parallel, it would be like crossing a RAPTOR to a Sunglow and calling the first generation of offspring RAPTORGlows despite them being only Sunglows het for eclipse of variable quality when the full/true RAPTORGlow would need to also be a homozygous eclipse (produced in the next generation).

I am confused and I don't understand how he didn't get embers and how these aren't het ember.... I am waiting for his next response.

Nikki, James posted this awhile back. He's saying his embers don't have MP in them. Which means that they really aren't embers.

Indeed. That would be immensely disappointing for anyone attempting to build a genuine ember project since embers have long been well-defined.
