In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Exotic Pets (Ken Foose)

But just for those people interested to know, you DO have to know how to spell beforehand in order for the spell checker to work properly.

Write. Butt that's knot awl. Yew knead two halve a bass knoll edge of the language too right effectively. Spell Czech cant be relied on.

ok i stopped reading at page 13 but im pretty sure i get how the rest of this is going to go. most of my snakes tails have a sharp feeling at the end. all of mine are in perfect condition. they are pointy and i guess the feeling of the point could feel like a bone sticking out. but if the bone was sticking out then how do you explain that there is no sign of bone sticking out in the pictures that ken posted???

I think ken is in the right here.

as far as the other poster trying to say ken is not good at packing.....i got a GTP from Ken 2 years ago in the summer. it was hot and and animal showed up and was fine. it was packed perfectly and had no problems.

i really hope this thread doesn't hurt his rep. im wondering if there is a way for the mods to change the bad guy part in red to good guy or take it off. there are those that just search a name and look at the thread titles and don't read them.

in summary.....ken is a good guy, he packs well, and you got a refund.

No, sir.

1) If a potential buyer scans through and ONLY reads the titles of the threads, you're likely to have difficulties with that customer later on because their research sucks.

2) IMO, a "Bad Guy" thread is a real test of someone's integrity, professionalism, and character. If you can get a "Bad Guy" thread and come out of it clean, that's stronger than a "Good Guy" thread to me, any day.

Looking forward to receiving a deformed angry little argentine.

I have had 2 very successful transactions with Ken in the last couple months. He has been a pleasure to deal with and I find him very professional and honest.
If he has an animal I want I will not hesitate to grab it!

Seamus and everybody have pretty much nailed this coffin shut, but I figured I'd give another good whack for the heckuvit.

That Boa's tail is perfect. Occidentalis' tails are pretty stubby compared to other subspecies. They can also be pretty hissy/nippy as babies.

Petting a snake with a hanger is what idiots do.

I bought a hypo honduran milksnake from Ken *sight unseen* and he picked me out the *perfect* animal....I can tell you how many times I have purchased animals online sight unseen.....ONCE, from Ken Foose. And I was 100% happy.

He is a good guy, and the person who started this thread is a jackass.

yes ken i signed up for an account few months ago and i do have an account # i spoke with someone at fedex and they told me i had to sign a wavier with fed ex and they said non venomous species are ok to ship. also i am not saying my animals are better then anyones. the whole point of me and you getting into it was that no one is perfect we all make mistakes in the business we just have to work together at fixing things and not attacking each other.

also as far as me violating the lacey act It was the first federal law protecting wildlife, and is still in effect, though it has been revised several times. Today the law is primarily used to prevent the importation or spread of potentially dangerous non-native species. which i dont ship those kinds of animals without the proper permits. thanks for the concern though.

I'm sure they also told you that you had to submit a package for them to certify as well.

I see you state that "they told you...." but nowhere do you say that "I did..."

No, the ESA was the first law protecting animals. Lacey act came later, and you clearly violated it when you shipped.
You are not going to win any argument here Victor because you have zero creditbility.:D

Ken Foose Vic, answer my questions about your quality control for the animals you sell

i am answering your questions ken here on your thread any more questions?

No, the ESA was the first law protecting animals. Lacey act came later

Lacey Act of 1900
Black Bass Act of 1926 (extends the Lacey Act to cover game fish)
Endangered Species Act of 1973
Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora in 1974 (Just for comparison to the ESA).

You were only off by 73 years or so.......lol. Not that it matters AT ALL in 2008 which one came first. :)

Today the law is primarily used to prevent the importation or spread of potentially dangerous non-native species.

I have issue with the term "primarily." Those might be the cases that get the most media attention, but the Lacey Act is still used to enforce state wildlife laws and regulations on the federal level when the perpetrator crosses state lines! That, after all, is the original intention of the law. It was designed to help prevent illegal market hunting. It terms of snakes, it is (for way of example) to prevent someone from coming to Texas, illegally collecting ratsnakes off of Texas roads, getting them out of Texas into another state like Nevada, and then selling them from Nevada. Texas can't do anything in that case, but the Feds can thanks to the Lacey Act (as amended). I would still say that is the primary function of the Lacey Act in these united states today.

Did you look up the Lacey Act on Wikipedia??

Just go ahead and cut and paste some more arguments. You can get started HERE.

Sure Vic, go ahead and answer my questions here. This bad buy post is not going to hurt me too bad I hope. If it does, that's the price I'll have to pay to make you look like an idiot. So, what protocols do you use to ensure the health of the animals you get from your suppliers, and to ensure their good health when received by your customers? Please go into detail, I love details.

KJ,
You were right. I meant the Lacey added "protected" species that were covered in the ESA.
Before that the Lacey Act mainly covered plants, etc. from crossing state lines to prevent cross-polination and introducing "harmful plants such as kudzu etc. The Lacey Act has been amended many times since the inception of the ESA.

Randal Berry

I'm not sure when plants were added, but I think that would have to be in the 60's or later. Originally, it only said it was a federal violation to cross state lines with wildlife illegally harvested in either state. Wildlife was often limited to "game animals" in the terminology of those times, too. Shrug?
