    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Exotic Pets (Ken Foose)

I plan on this being my last post here, although I will say that could change. Victor, there is no subject to stick to here. The woman got what she paid for and wanted to whine because she didn't know that she didn't know what the hell she was talking about. She received a perfectly healthy snake and complained because it had a stubbier tail than her Colombians. Then she complained because it hissed at her when she or whoever poked at it. That is what young Argentines do, end of story.

You have an issue with Ken over who the hell knows what and are making him look better and better by going on with you incoherent ramblings, I am sure he would appreciate it if you continue and keep this thread at the top. Anyone with a clue who reads past the second post will realize he is in the right.

But I'm tired of wasting my time trying to get the point across since it is obviously passing right through, so, as most of you will probably be very happy with, I believe this will be my last post here. I wish the best for those who were intelligible enough to see who was really at fault here.

look a few years ago i purchase reptiles from ken and i did not have such a good experiance the frogs overly expensive frogs i got had rubbed noses. the other animals were all sickly and did not live pass 4 days and he never gave me a refund! but he come on here to a thread wrote about me and takes cheap shot at my business to make him and his business look good give break!
yea i amde a mistake but at the time i did not know! kens just a creep and hes greedy!

Hmm, looks like it is working to me. But just for those people interested to know, you DO have to know how to spell beforehand in order for the spell checker to work properly. It ASKS you to make the correction, and if you don't know how to get even close to the correct spelling, or recognize the correct spelling when you see it, well, I'm afraid it can't help you too much.
 
Jessica, I just have a question that hasnt been asked from the begining. You have two ads here on Fauna selling your boas because you dont have time to take care of them. Is this the REAL reason you are upset that he, Ken, did not give you a full refund? Dont get me wrong, I have shopped at Exotic Pets to get my supplies but honestly, I do feel for you. If you realized that you didnt have the time for another boa and decided to return it, you realize that the situation would be called "buyers remorse" right? Also, you complain about Kens pricing but you are selling a Snow Boa for 2200.00 that is an 08? I just bought a small 07 Snow Boa (female) from CV Exotics for 1500.00. I am pretty sure that most people on here will know of CV Exotics and the kind of Boas Scott has there. Anyhow, I was just curious as to when you decided to return the Argentine and figured out that you didnt have enough time for your own Boas.

That said, Mr. Foose agreed to pay shipping for the shipping of the boa to the customer, but not the shipping BACK to him, after she complained. She initially rejected that offer, but later decided to accept it. He then decided, at a later point, that he was not going to refund any shipping costs, without informing the customer, until she had already paid for the return shipping. Hmmmm....

You can't do that. It's called "unilaterally changing the terms of an agreement."

I can see that a lot of respected people here admire Mr. Foose, and I suspect he's not such a bad guy in person. I can also see that his ego clouds his judgment. I've read other threads, where he clearly WAS in the wrong, but instead of acting like a man, he spewed double talk.

Simply, he agreed to pay for half the total shipping, then changed his mind.

Neither party here is up for a Nobel prize.
 
Well I really didn't read the entire 18 page thread but my name is David Tanner and I have shopped at Exotic Pets for 8+ years. Ken's animals are well taken care of. I have personally seen animals not for sale because of issues.

Again, I read the first 4 pages and decided that was enough. Ken is a good man. I know from experience and from knowing people very well. That is my job, knowing people. I now live in SoCal and look forward to visiting Ken's (Exotic Pets) store to shop.

Nothing will change that. It sounds like you were offered a refund and like most (90%) of the companies in the world you were not offered free shipping. OH NO!!! Again my name is David and I am and will be an Exotic Pet customer.

p.s. sorry I didn't read the 18+ pages that came before this post. If it was all taken care of than I say GREAT and we have a happy customer and a happy business.

Once one rejects an offer, it is gone and cannot be revived unless the offeror makes the offer again.

And, unless the offeror specifically in writing agreed to keep the offer open for a certain amount of time or unless one paid for an option to keep the offer open for a certain amount of time, the offers only exist for a reasonable amount of time, the offers do not exist indefinitely.
 
TWO refund offers..

They were two SEPARATE issues.

One was contact about a stubbed tail. Ken indicated that he believed her, and indicated that he would refund the cost of the animal and return shipping.

She declined this offer.

The second contact was in regards to the temperament of the snake. Ken indicated that he would refund the cost of the snake, but not shipping. THIS was the reason that she TOLD Ken she was returning the snake. A new agreement was put in place, because the reason for the return changed!

If she wanted to return it for the tail issue... then she should have returned it for the tail issue. I'm sure Ken would have been more then happy to work with her on another purchase, and possibly made up the shipping charges in that way.

However, when you fly off the handle, what, honestly, do you EXPECT to have happen?

You are out 90 bucks or so. For what appears to be a poorly-researched locality. I mean my goodness... you DIDN'T let the snake settle in, you DIDN'T take into account cage aggression, and you let a little tiny boa cow you... and you continued to poke a defensive snake?

Buy a snake hook, hook the snake out of the enclosure, and THEN handle it. Give it a week or so to acclimate. Its a snake. Not a puppy.

Check your husbandry.

Who am I, other then someone with a sweetheart of a Sonoran boa. Yes, she's a sweetheart. Guess what? Mexican boas are cage-aggressive as a group. So when she takes a swing at me, I know she's just being... a boa. I take her cute butt out anyway, and she's fine.

From everything here, and lurking the BOI for a while... Ken has responded how you WANT your sellers to respond. With proof, coherence, and a pre-established TOS. Would I buy from him?

Yes.

The OP was the only double talker in this thread, and when she refused his first offer for her to return the animal due to the non-existant tail issue, all offers made toward shipping of the animal, either explicit or implied, were off. It's not that hard to understand.
