For every story of a ball python that rockets to huge size and eats like a pig, I'm sure everyone has one or two that just won't grow!

Pastave on the left is 1 month old. Pastave girl on the right is about 14 months. Granted the one on the right is a stubborn mouser, she is about the size of new born still.:ack2: You can see she has totally changed colors with age, even without size.

Lets see some pictures of your favorite RUNTS! I know you all have at least one hiding in your collection. :D

this one is easy, lol

Ivory male 1 year old 325 grams, argh...

The sister to the sire that produced the Ivory took 3 years to make 1250 grams before I bred her to our clown male.
She's now in glow with 5 very large follicles, the only female I have raised that took 3 full years to make 1200+ grams.
I didn't mind the wait though, she's too hot to not wait on.

Her normal color...

Not quite what you are talking about but here is a twin I hatched this year at 19 grams right after eating a fuzzy to bring him up to 23 grams.

Jerry - Good luck with the breeding and great job on the patience to wait her out as well. As for the Ivory, I feel your pain especially if you are looking for a potential breeder male to get up to size... great pictures!!

The good thing Randy with extra small babies is 20 more grams and your ball python has doubled in size:D

Geez Luke, if the she really is that old then that takes the cake so far!

I've got 4 females, all late '10s, all born within a couple of months of each other.

#1--Het pied, 1600
#2--pastel yb 1550
#3--pied 1350

#4, the mojave mouser, at an impressive 660gms.

Thanks Deb and Luke for the additional comments and stories. I think once someone has finished reading through a thread they should have taken something useful away from it.

My "take away":
Some ball pythons just don't grow as fast as others. It happens to humans, so why not snakes too. Also, just because they might not make great breeders anytime soon, doesn't mean they can't simply be enjoyed as awesome pets!

Excellent take away and exactly how I treat slow growers.
If they are meant to be in my collection and they grow slower, they stay and are played with as a pet would be, until they decide it's their turn to "grow up" :)

My ivory male is an integral part of my albino superstripe project next season, I've got specter going to a huge albino and I want Ivory to breed a smaller albino female...Fingers crossed I get the Ivory male eating well enough to get some yb het albino's from him...

09 female cinnamon...a WHOPPING 730 grams. She's actually been eating better this year, still mice though...and starting to beef up a little.

My Snooki is tiny! So itty bitty.

She didn't eat for months, finally started taking live mouse hoppers but only hopper size or smaller. Then took a while to swtich to f/t. Last 3 meals finally got her to take rat pup so she's starting to fill out now.

Snooki is a yearling normal, next to a 2012 baby that is already on rat pups

And here she is next to my yearling pastel who has been taking weaned and small rats.

April, Jersey Shore names are already funny enough, but to have the small one named Snooki is even funnier. That 2012 baby is beautiful... fire jigsaw???

haha yeah she's my little pudge girl, it fits her well. :)
The 2012 is a butter pin, photos washed out his color a bit.

Sweet Butter Pin! Surprised you even understood my last post, my wife was talking to me half way through and my typing turned to mush. Great snakes again!
