    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I posted a message awhile ago about my gecko who stopped eating. I found out she's pretty healthy besides an eye infection. I've been using the prescribed eye drops for two weeks however, her eye is glued shut and, try as she may, she can't get it open. I'm rubbing the drops on her eye to try to help soften things up (on the advice of the vet) however, it's not working. Before I drive the vet nuts, I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any advice on how to get her eye open. Could I use water on a cloth or paper towel? I'm worried about causing her more discomfort but right now, I can't even get the drops to her eyeball. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try very warm water on a paper towel, just hold it there for a while till you notice the skin is not so dry. Then rewet with warm water and repeat, you can rub very very lightly, this may losen some of the skin on there. If the eye apears cloudy at all after opening or you can't get the eye open at all I would take her back in to the vet. I hope this helps her out.

Poor little thing. Whenever we encounter a problem with eyes sticking shut from infection we also use water but we boil it first then cool it to the temp of a baby's bottle.It does take a few applications but works well for ours.
