From my point of view with no money or animals being lost in this transaction it should just be chalked up as poor communication on both sides.. Continuing this thread makes both parties look bad and really doesn't need to be on the BOI just my opinion...

Hello??? From a business standpoint, if someone keeps you waiting for more than 10 minutes, you got a genuine reason to be ticked off. If you call that person, and they act flip, when they should be explaining GENUINE REASONS why they were late, and you get the runaround, tell them you can't wait any longer, and go home.

He has in the past said one thing in private and quite the opposite thing in public which brings anything he says in public into question.

Sure, the kid should have been on time and it was not cool to tell dandy that he was almost there when he was just leaving BUT I can easily see dandy starting the pissing/wording match. Easily. How many of you would wait an hour and a half just to be "sure" that if the kid showed up you could throw down with him?

That was unbiased wasn't it? I find this a bit troubling to add such claims to one's animals because they were late and may have a temper.

I do not see why this is a "Bad Guy" thread. The title has yet show a bad guy, just a person that did not communicate well and was terribly late to a meeting time. David, as they say, time is money, good thing you did not lose any, you lost the opportunity to make more. Rightfully you can be upset.

Aaron, I will share with you some advice I was given, though at the time I thought it was a punishment to have to memorize and repeat it everyday for three years.

May not mean much to some here, but living in a competitive world, it means a lot. It is one of those things that can cause a person to miss out on a job, house, friends, sale, etc.

You were making the sale here and missed out, remember the old saying "the customer is always right"? We will not know who threw the first insult, but it is not wise to continue them. Granted some go by the saying "I am the customer, so do not argue with me and do my bidding".

Have you been to a reptile show before and observed the vendors? The ones who make the most sales are the ones who are working the sales, they are out there talking to anyone who walks by their table, they are enthusiastic about being there, and they are extremly friendly. As soon as they see someone eyeing one of their animals, they jump up and start showing it off and telling them about it. They are busy and they never seem to stop.

The ones who are not selling much, they are the ones sitting in their chairs watching people pass by. People look at their animals, yet the sellers remains quiet hoping the onlooker will make the first move and ask about it. Then they are upset because they did not sell anything.

You could have still sold the animals to David as he continued to wait, I do not think he was wanting to fight, but was more interested in seeing your animals. Of course with threats thrown back and forth, you may have done the right thing and turned around as you promised as anger was boiling under yours and David's skin.

There was not any reason given as to why he did not leave until 11:00 am (the time in which he agrees to meet me at). When he called me at 9:30, he told me he was going to be leaving in half hour.

Well... communicating an apology for being late might have taken it in a different direction. Communicating a reason for being late might have taken it in a different direction. Communicating an acknowledgement of the lateness with a little patience and understanding instead of agression at the inconvenience might have taken it in a different direction. One or possibly both of you failing to communicate threats of physical violance might have had a different result too...

I'd tend to say that communication played a pretty big part in the situation.

Reasonable human beings, after agreeing on a time and place like that might have handled it a bit differently.

Seller on phone: "Hello, I have bad news. (Insert Reason for lateness). I am very sorry for the inconvenience, do you still have time to meet for the transaction?"

Buyer: "I understand _____ happens. Yes I have time, I'll be waiting when you get here." or alternatively "No, I had an appointment I needed to make. Perhaps we can arrange another time, I will email you later."

You guys- through the somewhat contradictory accusations on this thread, apparantly went from minor inconvenience to death threats over the space of a cell phone call.

Also, the price is right guy - if they were what you needed, your temper tantrum just cost you a great deal. Sorry if the truth hurts.

At no time up until now did you mention that directions were given to Aaron prior to meeting so he can find the place. Hiding information then saying someone's opinion is meaningless is a cheap shot. You seem all knotted up inside over this thread, I think it is time to take a step back and not bother with this anymore. Many believe Aaron is in the wrong for being so late, but attitude on boths ends is showing a bad light for the two of you.
