    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'd have to say I support Florida Herps on this one. They were clearly trying to work with you and you were just making their job so much harder then it needed to be. Obviously they took it too far when they said they hoped your reptiles would die but they're clearly only human. I honestly respect them for trying to be polite with you for as long as they could.
 
just as a last comment because all of you know-it-alls happen to believe there an outstanding business this own website has claims againest them stealing pictures fake reviews and a 9 page thread on reptile forums about how they charged a customers card without his authority you guys are an outstanding biased team thats just as bad as them

No one said they are an outstanding business we all know how they are. No one is defending them we are questioning how you handled it. It seems to me any one who questions you is a Know it all an ***holes or Morons,
 
eh maybe ;) no i just have alot going on with my animals right now between this current issue and a ton of work so me having to take time out of my day to make sure they dont get away with this has gotten me a little bit beyond very pissed off

if calling someone and saying fuck you is polite you need class's on etiquette i picked up the phone and was greeted with an attitude screamed at and on someone different emailing me they put there snotty remarks in when i stood up for myself

I would like to know whether the emails sent to the OP, the very colorful ones, are genuine. It looks like they are.
While I understand that the customer's language might also have been quite colorful, this email has shown that your company does not rise above the irritations that arise in business. There was a choice here: the responses to Chris could have been civil. They were not.

I have no dog in this fight, which is a good thing, as I'd have a hard time now backing either of y'all.
 
Just wondering how did you legally tape the conversation? In Florida all parties being recorded need to give their consent. Maybe they changed the law?
 
I agree photos are serious, but that has NOTHING to do with how we interact with our customers or has anything to do with the quality of our animals, shipping methods, customer service, etc. So keep that in mind when you talk about some pictures on a website being “questionable business practices”.

We will have to wait for the OP to return from vacation and ask for further verification of the email interactions he posted, that is relevant to how you interact. I am not taking either of y'all's word as gospel just yet, although the OP may have been trying to post headers and not knowing how, during his unfortunately not-edited-for-cussing post. I'm not sticking up for him, but certainly would not take your word on their veracity.
Photos are extremely serious, and involving them as part of the business is, no question, a questionable a business practice.
 
I'm a lab geek not a lawyer. I have no idea. I can tell you that years ago our answering machine msg had to say, "this call may be recorded, etc". It could be the fact that our actual 800 number service is outside Florida. I'm just guessing, but that might be why we can only record incomming calls because any outgoing ones we make from FL we cant. Again, I have no idea. But this has nothing to do with the thread and questions like this should be directed to our email so someone that can give you a better answer can reply. I dont want to piss off the forum Gods by using this account anymore. I said everything I need to regarding this. Even if Chris replies, I will not. Thanks.

My best guess is that your company is recording illegally and can be sued for it plus face crimal charges, but hey I'm not a lawyer so who knows. ;) Just to inform you this thread is about your company so this does pertain to the thread. It exposes how you run your business and if your doing it lawfully. As far as Chris goes I think he's a bad guy as well.

The OP was rough, angry and outright aggressive in this thread...But florida Herps does indeed have that attitude towards customers. I was regretfully one as 2 friends of mine now :( Lonna and Bill Thompson are rude, foul mouthed and threatening when a customer is not pleased. I have emails that have the foul language and nonsense banter. The OPs definetely sound the same o_O the police report was probably due to their threats and/or just to have a harassment claim on file for unsolicited nasty emails from a business. It sucks to see another person get abused by this companies owners. Hope you returned the "package" they sent you seeing that you did get a refund. Least it wasn't a dead animal...not that that helps.
 
Alrighty so what I gather from this thread is this...

The OP went online and bought a product from FloridaHerps. He received it in the mail and opened it, to find that it wasnt the thing that was advertised online. So, from what I gather (Through the mind numbing posts on the first and second page), that the OP got angry and gave FH a really nasty voice mail message.

FH and the OP exchange phone calls over ... a variated amount of time.
During these phone conversations the OP was (from what I gather), rude, disrespectful and incorigable since FH couldnt get a word in edgewise on his ranting/raving about the product.

So FH hangs up the phone and sends horrible emails to the OP, to which he responds hes going to file a police report and go to his bank and try and get his money back the legal way.

1. If you have a problem with a product you receive, you dont call up the person that sold it to you and be rude.
No matter how angry or upset you are. I recently lost a water dragon in transit and honestly, it really upset me. But I calmly and carefully wrote out a nice email explaining what happened in a mature sounding voice and got everything taken care of in a timely fashion.
Everything worked out.
If you lose or get something thats 'not right', dont come off as "you should get this thing because it says right there you should get it!".. you wont get help.

2. I understand that being on the receiveing end of customer service can be a pain in the behind, but you still have to keep a semblence of maturity and professionalism during your sales.
You do not return customers nasty phone calls with rude words of your own, you do not send them emails stating their animals should die, and you definately should not curse at a customer over the phone.
Doesnt matter if the customer is irate, you have to keep your cool, especially if youre in the business of selling things online, since so much can go wrong from the product getting from point A to point B.


So all in all, both of you need to bow your heads and apologize, then go your separate ways.

i was a bit annoyed and confused when leaving the voicemail and that been given to the bbb and they had no problems with it from what ive spoken with there management

i did not start the cursing fest that was on them i simply returned it after they started up the kid tried to keep speaking over me multiple times but for some reason they think i was the wrong person here

the bbb is still working on the case ive simply asked for a written apology because of there actions even after they have slandered my name in a bbb rebuttal response ive chosen not to hire an attorney at this moment in time if needed ill post the response and issues with it
 
Omg, you are too hilarious. An attorney? Doubt you could afford one, you'd have to ask mom or dad, and they'd also thing you were hilarious.

you legally commited defamation of character and think that its ok to curse customers out and act like your the god of this business when its been noted that floridaherps has stolen pictures violently threatened customers stolen animals from a german client they worked with now has this incident noted and people still manage to believe you its a dam shame
