    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Flukers Crickets... Anyone had similar experiences.

i will show non-beleivers the label, after it comes ! if he ships from them this time ( ken said he would not use them anymore if they are sabotag iing the orders he uses them for !! ) if i were ken i would not use them at all after all of these claims and some proof of unhealthy bugs that could kill your animals ! Well the three that seem to be parasite-free and kept in good conditions are reptilefood, armstrongcrickets, and timberline... I called Petsmart today and found out that they sell armstrongcrickets (at least where I live.) Although I don't like buying from commercial pet stores this might be a good idea for getting them in small amounts.

reptilefood.com dropships the majority of their stuff from timberline. On the rare occasion I get shipments from reptilefood that didn't come from timberline (i can tell from the different box that is used) I have no clue where they may have originated as there is no logo stamp.

Petsmart gets their crickets from armstrong because that is the company the corporate headquarters contracted their agreement with.

Too bad petsmart then rips their customers off with the outragous markup per cricket they charge. Even if you assumed petsmart paid a typical $15 per 1000 crickets (averages to 1.5 cents per cricket) -- and you know they didn't as they probably got a good wholesale deal -- to turn around and charge people what amounts to a 600%+ markup is ridiculous. I totally dislike having to get feeder insects from pet stores because of the rip-off factor.

Now if all cricket suppliers could manage to find a way to eliminate all of the house/grass/whatever they are harmless spiders (I know they ain't recluses), dermestid larvae/beetles, and carrion flies (look like oversized fruitflies) that show up from time to time in shipments I'd be very happy. Actually I'd be happy if they could just stop the spiders and flies. Dermestids (the larvae) are usable food treats for some herps though the adult beetles are annoying. The flies are simply horrid things and the spiders eat my crickets LOL.

Thank you for breaking that down Adrian. Math isn't one of my strong points! LOL I called my local PetSmart today and I was told theirs comes from Armstrong's. I called another local pet shop (Markheim's Pets) and theirs also comes from Armstrong's and I was able to get 100 for $4.00. I know its a major mark up, but for just 1 juvie beardie, I figured thats ok.

100 crickets for $4.00 is a more reasonable a price than say 25-40 crickets for that same $4.00 (assuming your petsmart is like the ones here and charge anywhere between 10-15 cents per cricket). :)

Here they are 7 cents each for the small. But that would still be $7.00 for the 100. When I heard $4.00 for the 100 I jumped. I also got mini mealworms for 5 cents each. Not a bad deal I think!:D

groovy geckos they are the same 7 or 8 cents here in chicago too !! sure wish theyde give ya a quantity discount or something though !! put my temporary website up here for everyone ! check out my beautiful carrothead giant albino pix !
