In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Fred Kick Misrepresented Animals, A thief to watch out for

"For starters, if im not here to reply to you 4 seconds after you inquired, I apologize, I some of us have LIVES outside of Fauna."

You make a comment like that and yes, i will take the 2 minutes to just fact check and see the time frame that all these posts were made.

Now concerning your emails.

Email dated January 25th
"looking to find out about getting the remainder sent to you, if you were prepared to ship the animal at this time."B]

Looks like you wanted that snake shipped even though it was january,

Email dated January 29th
so eventually, the snake did breathe, and eventually did recover.
So it is alive.

Email dated Febuary 22nd---about a month after recieving it
hes gained some weight, hes now at 132g's/B]
he doesnt explore his surroundings, and hes not seeking to escape the container that hes end. He shows no interest in getting loose, like a normal snake would.
So hes still alive & gained weight
I have many snakes that dont "seek to escape or show interest in getting loose"

Email from fred dated Febuary 22
on my original paper work from our conversation, you gave me an address with no apartment number. We do not guarantee shipping on orders that are miss handled by the carrier.
Same exact guarentee that every other breeder & dealer go by.

Email dated March 18th-2 months after it arived and has survived up till this point.
you sent me a snake in 16 degree weather.
Remember when on January 25th you asked if he would ship it....did you not walk outside? You knew even better than him what the temp was like where you live.

If you chose not to make this right, Ive made enough contacts, and I know people, that know people, I will make it public knowledge what has transpired.
Im sure he is running scared now,

If I have to keep the animal on ice, and carry it around to EVERY snake show I can get to. I will make it known that you sold me faulty merchandise.
Yes, yes, im the stalker???

I personally know one of the people who was called in to help the DEC & SPCA evaluate the animals, instruct the care-givers about their care, and help set up enclosures for them.

Unfortunately, he's no longer in the area, so I don't know how to get a hold of him to have him come here to speak up himself.

I can only provide the links.

I haven't been in the shop myself in over 6 or more years, and I wasn't impressed then, but knowing that this went on-even 4 years ago, NOTHING would surprise me about the animals this guy sells.

I always thought fred kicks hypo mojaves and pastaves looked super thin but I guess that's why I never inquired about them... :shrug01:

I don't agree with the poster complaining about the pastel yellowbelly though, what do you expect when you ask for your animal to be shipped in the dead of winter? And yes I agree that the seller should have refused to ship the animal but from all I've read I looks like he is in it just for the money. But that is JMO..:ack2:

I would have to agree with Howard on this one, I have heard a lot of non-sense about the kick brothers but I have talked to Fred alot about animals that I have wanted and he always tells me, that he will work with on a payment plan for as long as I need, as long as I am consitint on the payments (i dont know if this is sign of hope on me gettin in to doing what I love or a sign of danger) im really tounge tied here folks, Im a newbie in the snake biz just trying to sort stuff out, (good guys from bad guys) im very glad the BOI stayed

Howard im very sorry to hear of this. If all this is true, then it looks like you got scammed big time, How many more Bad BOI threads are on the KICK Brothers

Believe me donna you are not missing anything. The last time I went in there Iwent back to the "reptile room" I had to pull an employee over and show at least 3 different cages with a deceased animal in it. Truly disturbing. I'm amazed that he is even still operating this @#%$- hole

Fred Kick Good Guy!!!

In 08 we bought a female DH Sunglow Boa from New York Expo. We also purchased few BP's:a 08 male Hypo(one of the hottest I've seen and just had his first lock), a 08 Mojave 66% Hypo (breeding machine) and a 09 1.1 pair of black pastels. All are healthy eating great, will defiantly buy from him again... He has some really cool projects:yesnod:

Hope I don't get decapitated for having an positive buying experience:shrug01:

Jason or Cristina, first off you've got to sign your BOI posts with who ever is posting (harald just clued me in on that as Jess and I Had a very similar signature at the bottom.) And I would never berate someone for posting a good experience but its been said many times that good transactions are great but its how you handle the poor transactions and unhappy customers that counts the most! I'm truly glad you had a positve experience.

Howard - I understand your anger & frustration - and they appear to be well founded (based on your story) - but I do want to address one statement. Given the current market price, $200 for a mojave is about right for wholesale. Now, I'm not going to get into the whole thing about people giving wholesale credit on others' animals while assigning retail value on their own in a trade (which is basically what this ended up as...but it didn't start out as a trade); but the only way he put it to you, so to speak, was sending you the wrong animals. On that, you are right on target...unfortunately, from what I have heard of the Kick Brothers/Reptile Addicts, you probably won't see much (if anything) in the way of compensation. I wish you the best in that struggle, though...and with the snakes you received.

not for females, its hard to find one under 250 most go for 300 or 350 actually.

Very True...

3 is pretty ridiculous...I could understand a dead goldfish ,but not dead reptiles..Sounds like this guy needs to be locked up with no food or toilet, that way he could live like his animals do..

I wont bash you for saying you had a good transaction..But,I could hardly say he is a good guy...The news stories are real, not made up.I highly doubt the 3 dead reptiles in the store was made up.I apologize and dont mean to call you out..But I would not do business with anyone who would buy from this guy...With all the GOOD breeders out there, its hard to believe anyone in good conscious would order from Mr.Kick...

I agree with james, we should not support those that make the herp comunity bad or miss treats their animals. Jasons join date looks to be around the same time he bought from him so I'm assuming he like I made a few purchases from sellers before checking the BOI. I just found out about it not to long ago... now I use it!
