    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy gahnns Crickets

I almost never post on here....but I'm going to make a exception on this one. First, I have ordered from Ghann's and I have found their product and service to be outstanding. Anybody that has dealt with a living collection has had the occasionally bump. That being said, you could have saved yourself alot of trouble by running down to the local pet or bait store and buying enough crickets to get you through the weekend. But, I hate to tell you, if your payment doesn't go through...you're not walking out of the store with the crickets.
That's the way it is with retail.....no money, no product.

I don't believe we'll be seeing any more(productive) posts on this threat from the OP as we have yet to even get an answer for the simple question that not only myself, but multiple others have asked.
I suppose I could ask it here again and see just how lucky we get.
Do you always receive a payment notification + transaction number from paypal for every order you have placed using paypal?
If that is true, then did you or did you not receive the payment notification + transaction number from paypal during your initial payment made to Gahns?
 
Not only that.. but according to Ghann's website... they also send out an order confirmation email when you place your order. So much for the clue ;)
 
That's not just according to their website....I can state for a fact that they do indeed send a confirmation E-mail. I get one or 2 per week stating that my shipments have gone out. The person who started this thread also stated that when they did not get an E-mail they thought something was wrong...it was when they still did not recieve it the next day that they called Ghann's.
 
Yeah... back when I was ordering crix... I got them too.

I just posted like I did because I can get hard proof if needed by going to their website and doing a screen shot. I probably dont have any of my old emails.
 
So just for fun I placed an order with Gahnns crickets and I have never ordered from them before. (well almost for fun I really do need crickets :))
I placed my order at 1244 am west coast time this morning, I got a order confirmation email at 1245am a whole 1 minute later,
(I think if my computer was faster it would have been in my inbox faster than a minute), then at 101pm today I got a shipping notification email letting me know my order shipped as planned. That is just over 11 hours time it took from them getting my early am order, processing it, billing it, and packing up to ship it in the early afternoon same day.
Now obviously I have not received my product yet BUT so far it seems like this company knows what they are doing.

My conclusion................The Op of this thread failed to complete a proper order. I can't see how it would have happened any other way and for now I can say I am happy.
(hope I did not just jinx my order!) ;)

Ok Shannen, seriously, do not do that.....a better way to handle this is to accept the shipment and down the road, if you decide to order with them again, call Tammy personally to appologize that this situation got way out of hand and I think you may get some freebies.

I have become pretty adept at reading jibberish in forums but after reading some of the OP's posts, my eyes hurt.
 
And the final out come is......................... 24 hours after I was sent my shipping notice email and tracking number I am staring at 1000+ healthy 3/4" crickets. They even honored my request to have the box released to my front door as I requested and I was able to go home on my lunch break and put them inside. I am very impressed.

I don't order crickets. I tried them once, but they taste like crap. :ack2:

But I had no doubt your order would go through without a hitch. The OP didn't catch on to his own words about the lack of a confirmation email from PayPal or Gahnns. That was his hint to double check things, especially since the critters were so hungry ya know.

You gotta pay attention to the clues. :thumbsup:
 
I'm not looking for frreebies. All I want is what I paid for, and at this point Im m paying for twice what I ordered. Had their customer service been a lil more helpfulle I would not be in the situation I am in. Essentually I am paying 2 times the price I would have paid had they bothers to send me an email. I know plenty who recomend Gahhns. Like I said I have used them in the past. But this transaction has left more than a sour tasted in my mouth. Not to mention I am spending 1/3rd more for me to ge my feeders late..heck if they ho ad offered some mealworms to mke up the difference i would have been cool, but nope they were unwilling to budge, and until I am satisfied, I will continue to tell my story.

I know this is an old post,but this was the best! You kept complaining about your poor starving animals. How is it that adding mealworms to an already late shipment that you caused could help your hungry animals? Your animals starving isn't the cricket suppliers fault either. Perhaps you should find a local vendor for these emergencies you create, so that when you screw up your animals don't suffer.
 
If you unpleased with Ghanns why don't you try Lucky Lure Cricket Farm? They are located here in Florida. The great thing about dealing local....you get your order next day, without paying next day shipping fees. I'm not saying Ghanns is good or bad, I have used them in the past. But with Florida's weather local works best for me.
 
Well i have to put in a good word for Ghanns here, we have been buying from them for some time now, we live in New England, hence cold weather, we have had a couple shipments that came in all dead, and i'm not talking a thousand criks here , these were 8-10,000 per order, not only did Ghanns send out another order that day, but they dealt with fedex on the issue!! they did not tell us to call fedex and put in a claim, they dealt with it no questions asked , and when they found out what happened they called us and filled us in.
we screwed up on a paypal payment to them one time, didn't realize it , did not recieve our order, or get a call from Ghanns, it wasn't their fault !! they didn't know whether we paid or not, no payment no ship that's the way it is, but when we realized what happened we called to explain what happened , made the payment, and they bent over backwards to get our order out that day, they have shown nothing but total professionalism as far as we're concerned, and we will continue to use them as our major supplier, we use 8-10k criks a week in addition to all the supers, roaches, wax, phoenix, and veggies,
after our 1 screw up, we call them to see if they A). got the order and B). did they recieve the paypal payment, this confirmation takes all of 30 seconds

IMO ghanns did nothing wrong and should not be liable for any of the additional sat. shipping
it's not like they screwed up ANY part of the order, in fact for them to even agree to ship for Sat. delivery was way above and beyond, we all know how fedex can be with weekend deliveries.... oops the plane had problems sorry your critters went hungry

Is it just me, or does the reptile industry seem to have many people that seem to have been dropped as babies? I know a lot of breeders, myself included who are against inbreeding of their animals but really people... lets stop inbreeding the breeders too.
