I've not been following this thread; but, in looking at a few random pages this morning, I found several instances of (borderline, or not) abusive remarks and personal attacks. I don't want to go back and start hitting posts that were made days/weeks ago, just to make a point; so I'll just make a blanket statement to KNOCK IT OFF.
That includes calling people Princess, window licker references, and whatever other interpersonal jabs have been tossed around. This is a business forum, please conduct yourselves with some degree of professionalism (even if you don't consider yourself to be "in the business")

The anonymous third party quotation issue has been addressed.
If anybody is unfamiliar with the rules for posting in this subforum, please take the time to familiarize yourself with them. (In addition to the Rules thread here, the Updates to the infraction system thread, located in the Site Assistance and Feedback Forum, should be of help)

I've read this entire thread. No that's not the only issue I have, and apparently you don't like to be called out when you guys are doing something wrong. Other people have gotten on fractions for posting the same things over and over, you and Chris complain about him doing it, yet yall do it as well. And if you're talking about me mixing up Pakistan and Palestine very late at night and using that as a jab, just shows how petty you are when told constantly posting about other people yet not naming them is actually against them the rules, as much as you post hee you'd think you would have read the rules by now right? You 2 just cannot let this play out, but have to attack anyone and anything that is presented here, in those articles I saw nothing to call Markus a scammer yet you and Chris jumped on it like a slam dunk.

You're right about one thing. I did call Markus a scammer and a smuggler one time, in a recent post. I don't fault anyone who thinks that was out of line. I may be wrong, but given the circumstances here and everything posted here, he will not recieve the benefit of the doubt from me. But are you not guilty of the same thing Alexis? You accused me of posting something I didn't. So please leave the holier than thou attitude out of this as well as your animosity toward me and post the proof of your accusation I asked for. As for Garrett and Markus, you have done your best propaganda campaign to make me look like the villain here. Fact is, I've never been accused of making anyone unhappy in the in the 37 years I've collected snakes, and have seen and learned alot from this site as well as a few others and can say that 20 grand with nothing to show for it in almost a year isn't what I would call a promising scenerio. No proof of reciept for money wired to Pakistan. The Pakistani (friend of a friend) hasn't posted here. No happy customers of yours are posting here. Lots of bullying behind the scenes. No documentation of anything. A partner in Germany who deals with known smugglers. TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS IN LIMBO! All while Garrett is wheelin' and dealin' and making money. Business as usual. If I have said anything inaccurate here, PROVE IT!

Hey tim as of today i still have no animals i paid for or money but i will be uploading my recent convo with garret shortly were he states hes gonna refund me when he gets the bearded dragons from europe soon , or according to his source from pakistan they contacted him this morning and hes expecting the animals in 2 to 3 weeks....

He is just buying more time Michael. Unfortunately Garrett has brought the worst out in some of us and caused us to lose reputation ourselves so best to be very precise in your decisions and further agreements with him. Also along with skating a thin line legally, trying to take advantage of you, forcing you to look bad, he has taken advantage of this website and it's other users, but let me not get too deep into that as mods take offense and might request I go to some other forum section and talk about it.

You're relatively new here - but if you want to discuss the system, rules, etc, take it to the Feedback Forum (now officially the Site Assistance and Feedback Forum).
As far as your statement that he is breaking a rule by not naming his partner, I believe you are mistaken. You post suggests that his ads are closed as some sort of punishment - again, mistaken - he closed them himself.
Free classifieds attract all sorts of people - this site offers no guarantee about any of them. We try to weed out the spammers, and that includes a number of scam ads; but buyers should ALWAYS exercise due diligence before sending money. The moderation team is not here to decide from whom people can purchase; we are here to ensure that the rules for posting are followed (to the extent that such an endeavor is possible).

I am new here as an active user because I just have been elsewhere (there is a world outside of fauna), but been around reptiles since the 80's when a lot of people in the hobby had not even been born yet. I miss what the hobby was back then.

As far as discussing these details in this section (the BIO of person who is abusing the site), I would expect as a community we would want to discuss within the context of Garrett at least some of it, and that will add context to the problem and maybe elevate to the appropriate forum section and maybe get mods to not be silo on the issue. I find it odd that I would be scolded or told I am new, for trying to improve the site and offer ways to prevent its core users from being ripped off. You can place it all on the users to "exercise due diligence before sending money", but as a community site that makes money off of advertising and membership, I would think Garrett's money is a drop in bucket compared to the potential loss of money the site can not track, due to his behavior turning away would be members and traffic (add value).

Also, the statement "As far as your statement that he is breaking a rule by not naming his partner, I believe you are mistaken" is exactly so as I read it in a forum rules post. WebSlave wrote in this page http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/announcement.php?f=490&a=57 "The reason for this is because I feel it behooves everyone buying and selling to know exactly WHO they are dealing with." This tells me, if someone is using the term "partner" in a way that can lay legal responsibility on them, then that is not sharing as a seller who is really selling the items or at least include all sellers names (a bit of grey area Garrett commonly travels on). Anyways, that is how I took it and why I said what I said.

I agree. One pays an attorney to handle issues, and one of the first things they will advise (to benefit both client and attorney) is to be quiet, and let the attorney handle everything.
Those who claim they have an attorney that is fixing to do such and such are almost always lying, and just trying to scare the other party into submission.
When a party actually has an attorney, that's who you hear from.
