In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Genefreak339 / Michael Harshbarger

So he's new to the hobby...and made some mistakes...and now, even though he's being honest, he is pretty much being called a liar. I'm kind of sad that the online community that I have come to love jumps to him being a fishy person instead of offering their advice and guidance to do better...

While I do agree with you that the "fauna family" is a little too quick with the whip most of the time(stop and remeber how many true "bad guys" this has brang to surface and THEY needed the whipping!) Its not like he took a proactive stance and asked anyone how to deal with selling the axanthic pin or the 2 pastels with kinks (sorry I don't belive IF YOU produced those you didn't know about the kinks before you posted them)... that being said micheal will either learn to disclose everything up fornt in his adds or will have no one buying from him here on fauna.

Micheal some of us spend months even years saving and waiting to buy that fist morph or even that first ball python... after that kind of wait we expect our animal to be EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED and secretly hope its better than advertized! Full disclosure in the add will save you tons of head achs..

Frankly, I am getting a bit tired of reading posts that accuse Fauna members of being quick to judge, being harsh on people, mean, etc... Did some of you that think like that, ever stop to think that maybe some of us can "connect the dots" faster than others?

I don't think very many times the membership collective "judgement" hasn't been correct, and I do believe that in the instances that it was, apologies have been tendered and the receiptant's reputation has not been damaged by the post. In fact, the post can serve as testimony of their ethical behavior and honesty. Having someone post again and again, "I am being honest" does not in anyway mean that they ARE. To be perfectly honest:rofl:, it seems to be those that are so willing to give the "benefit of a doubt" that allow scammers and the like to continue fooling people.

Now some of the older members had pointed out Ads of the seller in question that were on the "shady side"...this had nothing to do with his "newness" I do not exhibit such a willingness to believe someone that is making those sorts of mistakes and giving such transparent excuses. My "feelings" rarely have anything to do with uncovering all the FACTS presented.

Those that DO purchase BPS had the ability to see those ADS that have been up, and the "mistakes" that had been made and called on. YET, some decided without researching that members that have been posting here for years and had spotless reputations and were known for catching mistakes that are "borderline" attempts to deceive are "whipping" or "jumping on" someone.:ack2:

Some posters seemed to be willing to ignore Shadera's and David's experience. Did they ever stop to think that the REASON he was so honest with those two is because they are veteran breeders and not newbies? :shrug01:

Also, how is it that someone NEW to the game has such high end animals and THAT MANY of them. Also, bred clutches, but didn't feel the kinks or notice the nubs when sexing (very good point!).

I am going to risk BK and say, some of you need to learn to judge the FACTS presented and stop worrying about the approaches of the other members. If you want to be nice, YOU be nice and don't try and force others into your mold of being "nice till we get scammed."

Deb, first off I highly doubt you could be molded by anyone! Second my post was made before all the other facts were brought to this thread (I had not refreshed the page) and no where was I defending or hanging anyone. But the whip does need to be brought out at this point! And a compiment goes out to the fauna family...

I am going to risk BK

Hopefully that is Bad Karma and not Being Killed. In any case, I agree with the tenor of your post.

There has been a lot of heartache and scamming in the reptile industry. The BOI has helped people avoid scams by reading what others say about their own experiences in transactions with named sellers (and buyers). It is not a tea party.

 Not me, but opinions can be molded by the application of feelings rather than facts.

The post was general, but I do admit that I used the recent posts here as an example. I am not saying we must be rude, and call names or anything of the like, nor try and change others by putting labels on their words or posts if their posts are decent. But this out and out calling of people being rude, mean, harsh, etc is an attempt to manipulate (even unknowingly) others into posting in a way acceptable to the one criticizing.

I am simply requesting others to be more concerned with their own posts and their own application of facts rather than worrying about anyone else's post IF the post does not break Fauna rules.

YES, this applies to me too.

I'm not surprised any more. He marked that sold soon after Nick brought that stuff to light, probably to try and make people think no one believes all this and he's still safe to send money to. (I believe it about as much as I believe he sold a fire male to some username that just doesn't exist here, nor does a name like it exist.) Nick brought some pretty scary stuff to light for anyone who has some time to sift through it, and yet Michael hasn't responded to any of it though he has been on. Deleting your ads right after someone says hey that's my animal and I didn't give permission to use my photo is NOT a good sign.

I hope this turns out well for the folks currently in the middle of deals with him. I feel bad for you guys, but not a bit for him. He was given advice via email on the best way to handle things before all this even came out, and he ignored it.

Deb, I agree the name calling is totaly uncalled for! I do like the checks and balances the different people that frequent the BOI offer tho...

So back to the current topic, Micheal care to explain any of this or are you just going to slink away and not come back?

Nicholas ... GO BUDDY GO I knew my ballot was hung in the right corner!

Anyone notice on the Ad he has for the Mojo spider, mojo bee that they were 900 and 2100 for the same genetics. Mojo bee is AKA mojave x spider. Mojo bumblebee is mojo x pastel x spider.

He needs some genetics 101 lessons.

oh I have a feeling i'll be posting a BAD GUY THREAD after I calm myself down... Don't need any infractions...

Maybe not. The human pysche can be tricky. Perhaps this will also make him realize that it's a good opportunity to prove that we don't know what we are talking about and he's a stand up guy.:)

Uh oh John =(

and I think the mojo bee thing is just a misunderstanding on his part about the terms used to advertise those different morphs....considering he did mention in that ad that the "mojo bee" was a spider, mojo, pastel combo

Will be interesting to see what John has to say about whatever has him so upset =(

Genetics lesson aside, that doesn't make up for the fact that he was using EBN's photos to represent those animals, and he altered the photos at that.

Woo-sah John... :yesnod:

Well, I won't speak for his understanding of genetics...BUT it would be a lot easier to get the names right if the BP community was more consistent with the way it named combos.

Yes very much so, Each person has their own way of calling each snake. Which is where a lot of confusion comes in. And we all hate it when we see something market like this guys mojo bee/mojo spider.
