As far as the vote between the tubby guy and the guy in the fatigues, I'll put my money on the ranger.  

Something I have noticed over the past couple of months is that every time someone is losing reputation, regardless of what they may have said in the past, this board becomes useless or stupid or some other thing like that, and we all become old ladies or gossipy women or some such thing.  The whole request for fellatio seems to come up a lot too.  Remember what the drillsargeant said in Full Metal Jacket?  About what comes out of Texas?  (no offense to any other Texans.  I am from Texas too, but I couldn't resist.)  

Why is it that the bad guys always seem to resort to the name calling and requests for sexual (usually homosexual) favors?

I met gilbert a few weeks ago and made arrangements to meet and deliver 2 pairs of snakes.  After a couple of set backs on his part it finally became a reality.  We was to meet at a McDonalds just north of college station to make the transaction.  I showed up and he was not there so I called him, and he said he was on his way.  Finally about 25 mins later he arrived.  He looked over the animals I had and gave me $150 for a bullseye albino nelsons milk snake and was going to get some of the other things that I had also.
The other animals I had were venemous snakes (lepidus lepidus).  I brought 2.2 babies and one adult female and told him the female was not for sale. Well immediately he offered me $500 for the snake and I told him it was not for sale, so he offered me $600 and then $700.  But I told him it was not for sale again.  Shortly after he decided on the pair of babies that he wanted gilbert then made one last attempt to buy the adult, he said he would be happy if he left with the two babies and the adult female for $1,000.  I then sold them all to him, and he was happy.  The very next day he e-mailed me telling me that he felt he paid too much for the animals and wanted his money back, I then told him that I couldn't do it because it was a sale and I sold the animals for me own reasons.  ALSO might I remind you that HE is the one that drove the price up on the female and begged me to sale her to him, and finally came up with a price that I just could not refuse.  He kept saying that everything had a price and I guess he was right b/c he bought it for $750.  This is a small chunk of cash considering the thousands of dollars he had committed to several other people that I knew very very well.
ohh also at the end of the day before I left to go back to houston he took his money back on the albino nelsons, and two days later wanted to buy it again, I didn't even bother with him I just told him that it was sold to another guy.  
Hopefully he cna learn a bit from his experiance and treat people better in the future, as a seller when a person tells me that he has sent me cash in the mail I expect it in a few days,  but to find out that he never even sent it is a major dissapointment.  I know this was not the case with me, but I have about 5 friends that had troubles dealing with gilbert.
I can add up about $20,000 dollars worth of animals that friends of mine had on hold for him and never saw a dime!!!!!!
 
Also one more thing from my last post, when gilbert wanted his money back and I told him the sale was final.  I then told him that I could loan him an adult male to breed with the female and that we could meet last weekend so I could give it to him.  Well the next day he had an add on KINGSNAKE.COM that said he was getting out of rattlesnakes and I never heard another e mail or phone call from him.

Before this whole thread started Gilbert Thompson put up for sale a 900 g 66% hetero for albino ball python produced by himself 2 years ago.

I was really interested in buying her and so I manifested it to him. He had the courtesy of putting the snake on hold for me for a few days. After reading how the recent events unfolded, I e-mailed him yesterday stating I did not felt at ease sending the money up-front. This is one of the few deals (if at all) that I remember having backed-off.

One possibility I suggested Gilbert was him sending the snake COD (UPS). It would have been very easy to veirfy my payment record with some of the people I have bought from that post on this forum. He graciously declined because he was not a verified shipper with UPS (his plans were to ship Airborne Express in the first place).

I guess the morale behind all this is that one should be very careful on how to address not only sellers but prospective customers also. The way one conducts hymself can certainly affect any future businesses.

I wanted to say that I just got an email from gilbert thompson and I think he is sending out little immature emails to everyone who posted anything about him on this forum.  Maybe it is some sort of personal therapy for him and hopefully it will work and he will grow up (I think that it is extremely unlikely that will EVER happen though).  The email I got from him seems generic and I'm sure he's just blowing off steam at everyone who posted FACTS about how he wasted their time.  Anyways, just wanted to add that to the thread...

Hello this will be my last post on here!
 I have really thought about what I should do and say since I am now getting out of reptiles.  I have had mixed emotions about it all!  Sometimes things bother me and sometimes they don't.
 Well this definitely has, as well as it should.  I am thru with the smart attitude and putting stuff off on others.  I am thru sending nasty emails and hopefully thru with receiveing them.
I am truely sorry for blameing Joe D., Bill Cagle, Kevin, Richie, Rob, Tom, Jason, Web Slave  and alot of others for my own down falls of having a flakey buying approach.  These are good folks and did not deserve me lashing at them in anger.  They have done alot as I have done nothing but prove to be a buyer that cannot make up his mind and stay in one area long enough to do any good.  Being a good seller is not what it is all about and I realize that now.
 Some people mentioned it was good that I get out of the business.  Well you are more than likely right.  I may or may not.  I am very unsure at this point.
 I don't expect any of you to except my apology and I understand that.  However, it had to be done for me to be able to honestly make peace with it.  I will say I have been brought to light by many views on a buyers being wishy washy.  I also feel I have learned a valuable lesson.
 I am sorry for being a jerk guys/girls and good luck in the industry.  My personal life and crappy reasons were no excuse.

You know, I halfway bought it the first time he apologized.   I have never had the experience of doing business with Gilbert, due to the facts that, 1) I am a nobody, and 2) I don't breed anything that he would want, but I still feel left out.  I have not received one (1) badmouthing email from him.  Am I not special enough?

gilbert e mailed me saying that he has a warrent for my arrest, going out to harris county for lying to him about giving him an animal.  When in fact he never contacted me in any way to get the animal.  All I said was that I was going to give him a snake worth about $150 for free.  And he never contacted me to pick it up.

          I paid $1,000 for four animals.  You gave me three and said the other one I would get Sunday.  You never contacted me and would not return my calls.  You lied to me!!  I spoke with Nat Turner and he said you were scared to contact me due to you feeling you screwed me.  Also that your friends were upset at me because they thought I would hurt your rep. and go public about you.  You got wind of it from Nat and came on here.  What an opportune time.
The issuse will be resolved in a legal fashion.  I will not get mad and threaten you or cuss you.  I have changed my ways and will resolve this stuff with my brain.  As far as, the warrant!  I will not disclose the charge I have filed.  Once the case has been disposed of I intend to come on here and tell people about it and give them a disposition of it.  You know the facts and I do.  I also have you recorded I am sure you know that by now.  You cannot deny that and had a chance to do what is right.
 As far as, Terry Dunham I intend to tell him about this thread and have him come on here and tell something in my benifet for once.  You are not telling it like it is on that one.  Terry bought a pair of snakes from me and was very happy to get them.  He even knows I was offered $500 more for them and stuck to my word on that they were his.

You know Robert I have made some mistakes as all can definitely tell but I have never cheated anybody out of anything.  I have even helped when it cost me money.
You had an opportunity to get it right and now you want to meet and make it better.  If I allow that to happen what is to keep you from doing it to someone else that doesn't know what to do and just excepts getting burned?  Just as I have made a fool of myself on here and have to live with it.  The same goes for you not giving a person what they pay for.  You know it, I know it and most important God knows it.  I am done with this topic not matter what is said until this case is disposed of.  Afterwards I will give everyone a heads up.  
Rob there is one thing about it.  A recorder don't lie!!  If there is probable cause in the recording than there is probable cause for a warrant.  It sounds civil but what actually took place was criminal.  At least it meets all of the culpable mental states anyway.
Mr. Cagle I appreciate you excepting my apology and yes I look forward to meeting you and putting this behind us in person.  You will have no violence from me.
