In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

GILBERT THOMPSON

The problem is, William, that dear Gilbert has made a virtual career out of treating breeders and dealers that way. If you read through this thread, you will find over a dozen that he has pulled his famous

"I have cash! Don't sell to anyone else!"

crap on. Once or twice falls into the "feces happens" category. When you hit double digits it is simply abusive.

Oh I agree 100% bud, being jacked around is irritating as hell and time consuming.......I listen to and heed warnings about people I just couldn't add anymore information on the subject than my personal experience. Take care and keep looking out for others.

For anyone on this thread who has not read the other current on eon Gilbert, if you would like agood laugh he has denied everything that he has said here in the new thread and now has also made racist and religious attacks on people. Evan

I am not a big fan of the "bump" but....

I was doing a search on someone else and this thread popped up as well on my results. Has anybody seen this piece of work recently?

No, thank God!

He wasted a lot of my time 2 years ago and I told him to not bother contacting me ever again. Maybe he is directing his efforts in another field. :bolt01:
We can only hope.

"The field collecting I do have opinion on.....collard lizards could invade the west by tens of millions and those little bug eating machines would only make life better!

If someone wants to collect and breed I feel that's money earned and acceptable but to catch wild creatures with one hand and sell them with the other is a crock......especially with no acclimation or anything. If someones going to get a bag and scour the woodlands and deserts for something make it bottles and cans....wouldn't we all like to see more animals and less trash? But there's no money in that......there's always debate when it comes to animals about "controlling the population, thinning the heard" far as I'm concerned the human population needs controlled if anything 1) animals aren't destroying the planet 2) count the number of dumbass people you come across in a 24HR period.

As for the DNR and collection regulations ect ect.......seems like in any given situation they've got good intentions but go about things back asswards.

This was totally off subject and I apologize but it got to me and I had to comment......take care everyone, no harm meant."

Well William, I can't believe I am going to say this, but I agree with you 100%! I realize this is a little late, but I just figured I would back up what you said for whatever that is worth.

Just to clarify things, every animal I catch, EVERY SINGLE ONE , is sold to breeders and private collectors who want new breeding stock or project, yes I sell them in quanities , overseas to certain individuals who sell them to other breeders etc..Some of the collareds I have collected have fetched as high as 500ea in Japan. All animals I collect are debugged the moment I get home. All animals I sell are acclimated and feeding at least 1-3 weeks prior to shipment ( can take weeks to put a shipment together). 90% of all animals I collect are sent to Japan, where they are taken immaculate care of. Most people do not understand the pains the Japanese go through in taking care of there animals. Most are perfectionist and there husbandry skills rival most Americans. If I sold one sick, unfeeding animal to them I will get deducted on as well as a nasty email asking why would I do such a thing. I have a very high level of respect for my customers...

I would have to agree with you on that.

Justin...

You don't know me, but I've been on to you for a while now. You posted one of your typical flame threads about a buddy of mine and it was complete BS.

Where to begin...

First of all, you are wrong for posting this. The guy gave you a logical reason (being a NARC) for why he couldn't show up; not to mention you are the one who went back several times after he hadn't shown up the first time...

Now to the fun stuff. I'm excited about this. :D :yesnod:

Texas Parks and Wildlife has a website, and on that website I did a little research.

Let's see what I found...

"Texas Parks and Wildlife Department - Sale and Possession of Certain Nongame Animals

For certain species of nongame wildlife, including but not limited to flying squirrels, ground squirrels, rock squirrels, prairie dogs, porcupines, and most mice, snakes and amphibians, including bullfrogs, a department permit is required to:

possess more than 10 animals of the same species;
possess more than 25 total specimens (all species combined); or
to sell certain nongame wildlife (dead or alive) or their parts. Does not include dead bobcats, coyotes, or mountain lions."

So...you've openly admitted to illegally harvesting Eastern Collared Lizards by exceeding the bag limit by (I average 50-70 collareds a day @ $10ea.(at least 1k out of my pocket), passing up other sales cause he reserved animals for purchase) 5-10 times what is allowed.

Scum like you are the reason that Texas is now about to close hunting along roadways. It's because of people who collect turtles and lizards and send them off to Asia by scores...But that's okay, fortunately I can do something about it.

I've forwarded this post and a few others in which you've delightfully incriminated yourself...To various TP&WL Conservation Officers. I already got a response! Sweet!

So now they are FULLY aware of your ILLEGAL activities, and needless to say, you're going down brother.

On a different note, I'm both surprised and disapointed that Kelly Hammack (an indidivual who I have a lot of respect for) would openly support and endorse the illegal activites of Justin Mitchem.

Cheers to you Justin... :NoNo: :D :yesnod:

Show me where I openly supported illegal activities. SHOW ME. My first name is spelled Kelli BTW.

Ummm

This thread was started in 2002.

You are five years to late.

Unless of course these same laws were enacted in 2002.

If these laws are different from the laws in 2002.... then congratulations on attracting attention to absolutely nothing.

If these laws are the same and have not changed...... then at least show where we can find that collared are part of the "NON GAME" animals.

And you are talking about the banning of roadside hunting.

exactly what kind of hunting is it?

are you talking about firearm hunting?

because I doubt they will outlaw firearm hunting just because of some folk who decide to get lizards. it is completely unrelated.

it is like the US senator who wants to ban 50BMG rifles because she is worried the border partrol might get shot with them.
1. What does the banning of a rifle in the us got to do with weapons in mEXICO.

So as you can see in my example, one does not effect the other.

so I would like to know what hunting you are talkig about.

So let me get this straight.
Your buddy did not show up for the deal because this guy is a "NARC" and he did not want to get caught doing something bad?

Wether it be lizards or drugs. The fact that he made an attempt to do something he OBVIOUSLY knows is bad.......

well nevermind.

you know what they say about birds of a feather.

I'm still here waiting for the answer to my question, Chad (if that's really your name). You stated that I support illegal activities, now own your words, buddy boy. Show everyone where I said I did such a thing.

It was shown long ago in another threa that there is no way he is a LEO. He is way too ignorant of even the basics of law and law enforcement and just plain ignorant.

Dennis, there is no doubt that Gilbert Thompson is involved in law enforcement somehow? he had me ship ball pythons to the police department where he worked at......Then proceeded to screw me for the payment. Live and learn. :yesnod:

My apologies Kelli. After re-reading your post I see my error. I am glad to see that you agree with me that the mass collection of Collared Lizards by Justin Mitchem is wrong. I was in a frenzy to compose my post and didn't pay close enough attention. Hope that helps.

Additionally, in speaking with LE about this issue...I've come to find that Justin is already on their radar. He is responsible for the protection of a certain Map Turtle due to his exportation of them. So I'm glad to see that the Texas government took steps to stop his unethical and greedy behavior in that case.

I also found out that he collects these Collareds off of roadside "man-made" habitat. Kinda funny how he IS on the TPWL radar and recently there has been a proposal to SHUT DOWN ANY herp collecting on ANY Texas roadway...Thanks for that Justin.

Kelli...I'm a tool? A troll? For someone with such a "big name" to protect, you sure to speak with a very senseless tongue.
